Pushing the F8 key repeatedly before getting the BOOTMGR error message. Will give a person an opportunity to select their Hard Drive from a menu, and start their computer. I wish I could like the video a 100 times, that worked perfectly, even though my disc was x64 and the PC was x86. I got an error, ignored that and proceeded towards system repair...it worked. Thanks again!

Nice guide. Don't forget to change your boot drive back from disk/usb (D:, E:, F: etc) to the HDD (C:).

Windiws 7 desktop. Selected boot from DVD drive in bios, restarted with Windiws 7 disk in drive, same message, no change. About to drop kick it. Hours wasted so far. I'm about to dismantle for parts and just give the Wife mine... 🤦♂️

hey i have a problem... my laptop has no dvd/cd port and so im using an external dvd/cd reader, but everytime i start the pc with the dvd reader insertet, it still says bootmgr ist missing.... why is this not working? dvd is set on first boot device!

I can't find the operating system "window 7" in the starup- custom setting, HELP ME
If you have a windows 8.1 cd and cant boot your comp because of missing partitions then you can use the same thing he did here but instead since none of his repair thing worked or popped up, you can use the advance settings till you get to the cmd prompt.
When you are on the cmd prompt, type this
> diskpart
>list disk
>select disk (0,1,2,3,4 it depends on which drive has the largest gb, so if 0 said 500gb then you would do select disk 0)
>LIST PARTITION
>select partition (the same thing as line 3, it depends on which drive has the largest memory)
> active
you will get a message saying the partition is active. if it doesnt work then type
>diskpart
>RECOVER ( it will change the drives partition and drive to its normal settings)
once you exit the cmd prompt, you will see an option that says restore to normal windows (#) and you will have your computer back. Thats what worked for me.
I also met with this error, i plugged in a pendrive( it contains movies, etc..) and the system wanted to boot from it, then I changed the boot priority in the BIOS and my problem is solved.

Hello, how I enter into BIOS, when this choice is not available (when notebook start up). I don't know, what is wrong.
When I insert HDD is "BOOTMGR is missing", when HDD is not in NTB, NTB will boot system (when I choice boot, write, that I have not disk).
It is wrong HDD or?
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!!!!
Plug a USB in (may not be necessary), when the first screen pops up after you power the PC, press whatever button that takes you into BIOS. Go to Boot, set the Harddrive or whatever drive you installed windows on to the 1st in boot order. Save and exit, should work fine.
This error occurred for me after I did a system restore, hope I helped someone avoid the hassle

My PC is showing Missing Operating System so I choose boot from Win 7 dvd and did all as shown in the video description but when I reach the stage Repair your computer 1:37, Systems Recovery options the Windows 7 operating system is not listed. I went to every step until system recovery options ask me to click the OS but in my case is not there. Also can not find any restore point whatsoever. either way it ends up in a dead end. Any thoughts Thanks in advance.
If your software is usually quite stable, then don't forget to check the cords to the hard drive(s) because you might just need to take them out and put them back in again...
Hey A little advice, this error cause of inactive drive. Go to Disk Management and Active your main Drive. (When you finished this tutorial and fixed)

Hey I have a problem. I use flash drive to boot in the Windows 7 installation/repair menu. And when I click Startup Repair, it asked me to unplug some of the device. Any idea?
What do I do! When is scans for an OS on the system recovery page, it doesn't see that windows 7 is on!!! Nothing shows up!

How do you get to the bios if you can't get past this screen. Control-Alt-Delete only returns a "no signal" message.

Try to spam pressing F8 or F10 on startup, afterwards it will have a boot address for you to write. Then input "C:\Windows" only works if u had partition and the main OS was deactivated
i have this same problem, i've done a system image file backup so i can use a new HD and now all i get is BOOTMGR is missing

+DriftMissile Only 5 times ? Dident you know they call it windows 10 because it takes 10 installs and atleast 10 days to install properly.On my laptop not a single problem on my desktop its the 4 th reinstall now and the solution in the video bricked it.

I've installed win 7 ultimate 64 bit (connected HD to another computer having another HD with win 7 installed).. On booting it asks to select the os want to boot. Since I have 2 win 7 os from 2 HDDs, I tried both of them and it worked.. But wen I connected my newly installed os-hd to my laptop it's showing an error "Boot mgr is missing, Press Ctrl alt delete to continue" on booting. When I press CAD, system restarts and showing the same error again. I tried safemode, used boot fix cmd commands, set my boot priority to hdd, tried in both uefi and legacy methods, but still the problem persists... Please help.
after the first loading files loading bar , it then shows a new type of loading bar something the looks like a windows 98 loading bar. it says fetching files then once that it at 100% it restarts and then it just goes back to the bootmgr missing window. HELP
I used someone's cd instalation, but there is no windows listed there.. what do I have to do?

If this doesn't work for anyone follow these steps
Press F12
Select hard drive
Select the hard drive or SSD that has your operating system on it
It should boot or re-boot and should be all good
This happened to me and I did this and it is all fixed
Why does mine says that press any key and then it's says bootmcr missing press ctrl alt dlt and if I press any key it just makes noises but doesn't do anything help plssssss!

does it have to be the same disk as my system os? for example: I'm running Windows 10 but have a 7 disk, the "repair your computer" comes up with 2 os (there is only one installed) but they both read Windows 7.
