    Excellent beginners Instruction it’s about the best I’ve seen and I’ve looked at a lot of videos. There are other beginner and corrective instruction videos out there and they are good but your video and the way you break down each stage of movement is what all archers need to see one just beginning or trying to correct a bad habit that crept into their process. Well done!

    Thanks for this video. It will be a great help in learning the proper shot process.
    I also have signed up for your Master Class and it has been the best thing I've done in my pursuit to learning the sport of Archery.
    I have taken another course and I was disappointed in the fact that I did not learn as much watching the whole other course as I did in just
    one of your modules. The Rogue Archery Master Class is very concise, easy to learn. I am halfway the course, and my form has improved a great deal. Follow the modules as they are listed and doing the drills will improve any archer in ways you can't imagine. AIso, with the one on one assistance you provide is next to none. I recommend your course to anyone who is serious about archery. Thank you for all you are doing to help us improve and learn the correct process of the sport. I can't say enough!!!!

    Thank you for sharing.. I've watched so many crap videos tonight on posture etc only to realize they're wrong and then I found this one. Simple, descriptive and makes complete sense. I went to an archery club over 20yrs ago and after having a go on targets a couple of times I found that I really liked it. For some reason I can't get past the pre-draw of a compound so I used a recurve. Loved it, an I was told I have good aim, so now, 25yrs later I've decided to take up archery properly. Now to learn the do's an don't's and how to's.. This vid has already got me practicing on the sofa.. it's midnight here in NZ an raining..Again.. so, for now I'll get some gym equipment out of storage an work on muscle training before my new recurve & set of arrows arrives next week.. I don't have one of those bands so I'll make one with a bike tyre tube.. I'm planning on taking up deer hunting so I'll be looking out for your videos 😁

      @@RogueArcheryTV I'll get a pic of it when I go buy a bike tube this wk. I do have the resistance bands for the powerfit board, I think those would work too, and stronger resistance. I've been practicing dropping the shoulder today, from your training above, it's easy as! I found picking up a bag (12kg) of puppy food to put in the car, by getting my shoulder to drop it made rotating my arm to swing it onto the seat easier than lugging it forward with both hands. The sideways movement was quick and easy. Bit like hoisting a western saddle up onto a horse. That takes the same motion. I've found it interesting how that slight movement is used in everyday life.. especially with animals.

      So after a Long wait, my SPG bow & arrows arrived today.. now I can get to studying your lessons and build a safe target on my back fence. Don't worry even though it's residential, I've studied the safety precautions and guidelines :) I do have one question, is the bow string meant to be installed twisted or leave the strands loose? It was a B***h to put together, but I got it lined up nicely. The string was the easy bit lol
      Have you seen this guy's vid?? I want to learn some of this...

    I find that when I do this with a band, I can easily get draw hand alignment I soon as I set my hook and keep it through the entire cycle. With a bow, I have to really strategize how to achieve draw hand alignment early. What is the earliest point in the cycle to get the draw hand in to full alignment, and how is that achieved while holding a bow?

    • @RogueArcheryTV

      @RogueArcheryTV  Год назад +2

      @@ThirdLawPair ok that's good.
      1. Getting it on the flex band is the first step.
      2. Next try with a training bow with light poundage. If you kink the wrist, identify the exact step where this happens.
      3. Address the issue at the earliest possible stage in the shot process.
      4. Once you've mastered in a training bow, progress to your full competition set up and replicate.
      5. If you are unable to replicate, then your bow is too heavy. Repeat from step 2.

    • @ThirdLawPair
      @ThirdLawPair Год назад

      @@RogueArcheryTV I went to the range and found that, even with light bows, it's all about the direction I point the bow while raising. If I keep my humerus perpendicular to my chest during the raise, that creates an wide angle between each of my arms. In this geometry, the only way to align my draw side with the line of the arrow is to cock my bow hand back and point the arrow far to the side. Once I'm in full draw, the angle between my arms is minimized, allowing me to align my draw side with the arrow pointed straight ahead. Is there a way to maintain draw side alignment in the raise position without cocking my bow side wrist so far and pointing the arrow so far off to the side?
