De la Cruz sulfur ointment is the only thing that got rid of my shingles and it's usually used for acne to dry up the acne. You can wash with sulfur soap first and apply the sulfur ointment and leave it on until you wash again. I don't recommend washing the area after the initial wash and then just keep reapplying the sulfur ointment everyday for a week. The sulfur ointment almost instantly takes away most of the pain. Then after the treatment, you just have to scrape off the scabs. Sulfur is in gun powder so expect to smell like gun powder during the treatment

I’m pretty sure I have shingles but so far, thankfully, they haven’t gotten horrific. What led me to investigate was that I thought I was having pain in the right rib and one video suggested shingles as a cause. On Nov. 8, I took a look at my rib and there was a pink oval on it a little less than dime-sized. There were also some other acne-sized bumps along my right rib cage. I scratched on one on the edge of my mid-back and it was fluid filled. The pain seems relatively minor, but still concerning. Sporadic pangs feel like scrapes, scratches, irritations, and maybe mild burning and itching . (I’m avoiding scratching, which isn’t too hard so far.) Sometimes the pains feel gastrIc, like indigestion. I suppose the few marks roughly follows the line of a “ring” as described in shingles symptoms, but it isn’t nearly what the worst pictures I’ve seen look like. Before and now, I have felt a malaise, but no vomiting, chills, or other raging sickness. I’ve gone on short runs with it and walk and bike around town.
I’m an ethical vegan and though I don’t rule it out 100%, I want to avoid vaccines. I’m not judging or lecturing anybody else. I’m not “anti-vax”. I just want to try to heal this naturally if I can. If it gets too horrible, I’ll call 911. So far it’s very bearable. I’ve read cases for healthy and young people can be mild. I consider myself a healthy 65. (But I don’t claim to be an expert on that.)
I’ll be shopping for your natural remedies today. I’ve already started on lysine. I know there’ll probably be some pushback against my plan, but I don’t believe in scaremongering and panicing. I’ll know when to go to plan B if and when I have to.

I have a tricky situation in that I take an immune suppressant (mercaptopurine, aka Purinethol or 6-mp) to prevent flares of Ulcerative Colitis. It has been extremely helpful in that regard, and the only part of my body where I notice a vulnerability from it is in my skin. I have to put anti-biotic ointment and a bandage over abrasions that I wouldn’t think twice about normally, and I sunburn very badly from it. I am 64, was fully vaccinated for Shingles a year and a half ago, and here I am, a painful ugly mess with shingles on my face/eye/scalp. I started the acyclovir oral medication two weeks ago on the first day of blisters and I’m still a mess. I would love to boost my immune without compromising the protection I get from the mercaptopurine. Once I started drinking açaí juice regularly and was really surprised when I started having UC issues then. I quit the açaí and the UC subsided.
I too was vaccinated a year ago and now have shingles but I have lupus also but why don’t they tell us before we get the vaccination that we most likely will get it anyway due to autoimmune diseases. I don’t even feel that having the vaccine has lessened my pain or the time I have shingles

Sorry but not helpful. These suggestions (other than the tea), are very general and not specific to anything that directly relieves pain and the high discomfort of Shingles. For specifics - what you need ro take and WHY - listen Dr. BERG on SHINGLES; he has specifics what you need to do and take to treat shingles and releave the sometimes debilitating pain. Check his comments.
Dr. Louie seems reluctant to suggest TREATMENT. She only offers generalizations about staying healthy: exercise, plenty of sleep, lower your anxiety. (My dog and cat tell me that.) A physician who is shy of treating is like a motor truck that has a load to carry. What's it need? Dr. Louie says to roll the truck forward to a downhill and it will coast. Yeah, it will but . . . She seems shy of telling us what we need: fuel in the tank, sparky electronics and componants in good repair. This video is not helpful at all. Treating illness requires specific things to do and ingest for speific changes in that condition. REST? EXERCISE? LOWER ANXIETY? With the excrucuating PAIN of Shingles? Duh !

Drinking baking soda and water as soon as the burning start...end of story
If out and about, not close to baking soda it will develops into blisters.
Soon as possible a large baking soda and water followed up by a few regular glasses over the next few days. Two days later they are close to gone.

Shingles are not contagious. However, if someone has never had Chicken Pox before then it is possible to get Chicken Pox from direct contact with the fluid of Shingles blisters. You need not worry about contracting Shingles from an infected person. Wash their clothing separately and be cautious regarding direct skin-to-skin contact with the Shingles rash.

Had shingles many years ago. Not a fun experience.
However, I have known other people over the years who have had shingles that had a very different experience (pain-wise and length of duration) from mine.
After hearing of other's experiences with shingles, in comparison, I believe I had a light case. Either that, or I was lucky that I was already under a drs. care. He quickly diagnosed it and prescribed meds that were effective.
I remember experiencing not so much pain, but a terrible, intense itching. My dr cautioned me not to scratch it, then touch my face, warning it could spread there.
Others have described their pain as an intense burning pain, or a throbbing, deep pain.
Shingles is not a pleasant experience. As the dr. explained, it develops when your immune system is low, which means many patients, like myself, have more health problems in addition to dealing with an outbreak of shingles.
If you are a senior, I would advise a talk with your Dr. and follow his/her advice. If your Dr. thinks it's a good idea to get the shingles vaccination, I'd listen. It's definitely a condition that you want to avoid getting.

@@mrcool8242 I don't know how often that happens, but, yes, you can get shingles a second time. It is more likely to reoccur in seniors, if their immune system is weak. Even though most people had chicken pox as a child, the virus stays in your body and shingles can be activated decades later.
Since I had shingles (many years ago) my Dr. recommended that I get the shingles vaccination. Apparently, it is deemed to be safe and effective.
It's been available for several years, and there has been an updated version of the original shingles vaccine. The new version is said to be even more effective than the original one.
Exercise caused my pain to get worst.

@@joeharper3749 careful with taking Tumeric..only buy organic !!! IT should be light yellow..other Tumeric is dark golden and may have LEAD ADDED TO IT FOR COLOR AND ADDS WEIGHT . I took tumeric for skin and digestion..ended up with lead poisoning 🙃 achey body sore joints and brain Fog

I wish my insurance would help me pay for naturopathic doctors. A lot of these MD's may be good but if you can't get an appointment or would prefer audio and audio visual phone diagnosis, what "good" are they?
