Sure it was repetitive, but it had a lot of cool things going for it like immersion, grittiness and realism. Crysis gets all the love for how great it looked, but for me FC2 overall had a better look to it.
I wanna know where they got inspired for all of the healing animations, it peaked at 4 and it was really impressive. Showing multiple, completely last restort options, that MAY actually save you. When the bundle of matches trick for a bullet wound was introduced, I was all "Who told you how to survice in a 3rd world country? Special Agent Steve?"
Far Cry 2, while not perfect but a giant leap from its prequel. Back when publishers didn't rush their developers and didn't prioritize in game monetization with skins and similar crap and focused on innovation and game play.

@@DJSpaceDonutsv2 they destroy the game by making cars broke down on every couple bullets while they said we've made it like real which is not at all
so immersed looking at my magic map for 99% of the game and having the same enemy jeep revving its engine for the 20,000th fucking time.
I love how all the guns jam in this game.

Hard to call it a leap when it’s completely different. Plus, Far Cry 2 is significantly more repetitive than the original.
I like the original a lot, my ranking: 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6.
@@spider496 Far Cry 2 and later games share only the name with the first FC game by Crytek. They are completely different.

I consider this more of a sim than a game. There's way more focus on realism than fun.
