    A king he was on carven throne
    In many-pillared halls of stone
    With golden roof and silver floor,
    And runes of power upon the door.
    The light of sun and star and moon
    In shining lamps of crystal hewn
    Undimmed by cloud or shade of night
    There shone for ever fair and bright.
    The world is grey, the mountains old,
    The forge's fire is ashen-cold;
    No harp is wrung, no hammer falls:
    The darkness dwells in Durin's halls;
    The shadow lies upon his tomb
    In Moria, in Khazad-dûm.
    But still the sunken stars appear
    In dark and windless Mirrormere;
    There lies his crown in water deep,
    Till Durin wakes again from sleep

      Grant Luxem Clamavi de Profundis did the whole Song of Durin, and it is *incredible.* They’re a family group, and all of them sing bass or baritone. Peter here sounds like a Man or Elf singing this ballad. They sound like a war party of Dwarves. It’s pretty amazing.

    • @nightflash4782
      @nightflash4782 4 года назад +1

      @@lachimiste1 clamavi de profundis is indeed amazing but i think they would fit for just about any of the free peoples singing, i mean the song of earendil and the dragon is withered are fine examples i think, though i do tend to prefer their dwarf songs more

    • @lachimiste1
      @lachimiste1 4 года назад +1

      Nightflash478 There is also the matter of their name. Clamavi de Profundis means Songs from the Deep. This is clearly a play on their vocal ranges, but it also suggests how they would like to be identified.

    An incredible cover of Eurielle's version of Song of Durin, with beautiful scenery, fantastic effects, and exquisite camera work. This may be your best Tolkien video yet! It hits me everytime I listen to it.

    Amazing, as always. Loved it. God Bless and Keep in His Loving Arms Sir Christopher Lee. A sad and tragic loss for all who knew and/or appreciated his many, many talents he chose to share with this forlorn world. He was blessed and gifted and will be missed. My hat is off to Peter for recognizing and memoralizing him in song. I think he would like your gift to his soul.
