You guys are too funny, talking about the big head, big face, big, chin mermaid. That just cracked me up! The motif book that you guys were looking at is the book I was going to recommend to Sam for her heirloom Sampler.
Thank you! I’m happy you had a good laugh - it’s certainly enjoyed :) needless to say it’s all been frogged and restitched, now it’s marinating with me lol… thanks for sharing your time with us!
Thank you ladies, that was fantastic and you could see your friendship through the 2 videos 😊 also, thank you for giving me the ambition to pull out Savanah's Curtsy by Mirabilia. I started it many many years ago and you gave me the courage to pull it out and continue because you can definitely see my stitching journey - it deserves to be finished - darn white on white. 😅
Oh my white on white = no fun lol. Maybe next time there’ll be a coloured fabric? I’m happy to hear we’ve inspired you to pull it back out and start working on it again - they are deserve to be finished :)
My best friend (who I also met through stitching) also lives several hours away from me. Watching you two film together and share the story of your friendship and stitching journey made me feel closer to my friend. Thanks so much for sharing. 🤗
Its so hard when we live apart isnt it? The beauty of flosstube is how we can invite other stitchers to connect with us from the comfort of their own home. I hope you can enjoy our time together when your friend is so far away!
Love the history together. I bought this in my early late twenties, got busy with work and only have a small start. Ladies you inspired me to pull it, and start stitching.
Oh my goodness - I LOVE THIS!!! So happy to hear we have inspired you to pull it out :) you should tag us in any posts you make sharing your piece and your journey!
You should! Or maybe even a most on Instagram and tag me then I can see it… or email me :) I’d love to see what you are working on! Thanks for sharing your time with us :)
Hello ladies, love watching all your stitching. Just gorgeous. The fabric you are using for Blue Beards mermaid is beautiful! I do agree with you about her face. To me her face on the chart picture looks more like a mask. She does maybe need more shading. But I am sure you will come up with something that will look great.
Having a daughter embrace stitching is such a wonderful thing. My first quilt was also a king size for a wedding…the marriage lasted less than two years and recently the fellow asked what to do with it so I suggested giving it to a battered woman’s shelter. Oh the memories! 🦉
Oh my! That’s such a shame to hear about the marriage but I’m sure there’s now a very thankful woman wrapped in your love thinking about the mystery lady who quilted her blanket ❤️ what a good ending to that story! Thanks for tuning in Karen :)
Thank you! I wish we lived closer so we could film more often :) Thank you for your kind comment, if the pattern stitches up well I will likely release it ;)
Once again, another great video! I love seeing you two together. I had a giggle when Arica was showing here Mira mermaid! I, too, sometimes try to change the face/head with no success. So I found that if I had some flush to the cheeks using a faint color of pink it tends to help me. I have actually had a couple that were just eyes and very light pink lips and cheeks. Your stitching is gorgeous!! Have a great vacation together. You are so lucky to have each other!
Ha ha, I’m happy to offer a good laugh! I totally agree with shading, I think it can make a world of difference… Thanks so much for for taking the time to connect with us this weekend and we look forward to filming together again
Great video! Thank you for sharing your friendship with us. It’s great to see the two of you share your enjoyment and memories of cross stitching together.
What a fun, fun video to watch! I can't start commenting on everything I'd like to comment because there would be a wall of text 😄 But I have to say that it was really lovely to see you together again. This video was so much more natural, lets say, compared to the one you did last year, which was also very good but you know what I mean 😁 Loved your projects and your stories 😍 Thank you both so much for taking the time to make this video for us, especially since it's time from your vacation together and on top of it you were just recovering from a cold 🤧 I really enjoyed watching you and I'm looking forward to seeing you again together and each one separately, of course. Take care and enjoy your crafts 😍🧵🪡
Thank you so much for continuing to connect with us and share all your kind comments! We also look forward to filming more together in person, it is so special when we have these opportunities
Such a sentimental Flosstube for me as well as you! My best friend and I grew up stitching together, but sadly she has passed. You two remind me of us, and that makes me happy, and perhaps a bit tearful myself. Arica, I am so glad you are finishing your Angel. She is really beautiful. I hope she finds a spot of honor in your home. And Samantha, I look forward to seeing yours displayed in your backdrop one day.
Oh Karen I am sorry to hear your good friend has passed on too early. I hope you are able to enjoy our company when she is no longer here to sit with you as you stitch. Thank you for sharing with us Karen and taking the time to connect with us again
Thanks for inviting us to spend time with you at the cabin. It's obvious you all had a blast, but hope you were able to rest and recharge, as well. Loved all your projects, pictures, stories, etc. I was inspired by the freebie bee and mermaid patterns. Can't wait to join you all again next year. (Arica reminded me of Tom Hanks when Samantha teared up. "There's no crying in ba...flosstube!" It was funny and touching at the same time. It's so lovely to see such an enduring friendship. ❤)
Haha that’s funny! It’s been years since I’ve seen that movie but my youngest found it last year and has seen it maybe 10 times! He is always quoting it so maybe it’s rubbed off on me lol. Thanks for choosing to spend your time with us ❤️
You both made me cry with all the wonderful memories you are sharing together. It is so amazing to have a best friend and you both can stitch together. It is so wonderful to see. I have one Butternut Road Told in a Garden chart and it is called Feathers & Friends and I am stitching it on 16-count Milk Chocolate aida so now I want to go and stitch it. It is so wonderful to see both of your families getting along and doing things together. I loved these 2 videos a lot. Happy Stitching.
Pull Enchanted Mermaid and reverse her face to the correct profile! She has a lovely face ❤ bluebeards mermaid looks many and like her head is off her shoulders. I will never stitch her with that head! I know I’m bad but it’s so true! Love it all ladies and it’s so fun to see you two together 😊😊
Thank you! I actually looked at enchanted mermaid but she is a much larger scale… I did rechart her to the correct scale and it didn’t look right. I think it would work if I did 1 over 1 for the skin but I just don’t have it in me to make this one 1 over 1… I do love enchanted mermaid though! When we were in Issaquah Michaela bought it!
Love seeing you pals together! How fun that you get to share your love of cross stitch with each other …and your families. Love your new sample, Arica🫶
Thank you Connie! We enjoyed our time together immensely and we are happy to hear you were able to share in our time together too - thank you for watching :)
I love seeing your angel of spring saga. My first Lavender & Lace was the angel of spring. I stitched it back in 1994. I've also stitched the other seasonal angels as well as the ice angel and the earth angel.
@@FibersandFlossCanada the spring one taught me how to blend threads and use beads, the summer one turned out so much prettier than I expected, but the fall one is my favorite. I love fall colors and it introduced me to variegated threads.
Lovely stitching, the Mermaid almost looks as if she is wearing a mask. I bought the Motif book as well .. The Mirabilia is beautiful, thanks for sharing your story
Arica laughingly saying, “Are you going to cry on a FlossTube?!?” made me laugh so hard! Only best friends can tease each other like that, and it is a joy to watch you two together. Long FlossTube videos just means more stitching time for those of us who watch, so never apologize! 😉
Ladies....so amazing to see you together. You should do it more often. I was laughing a lot when you discussed mermaid face....I feel your pain Arica, I have one Mira on a go and I'm hesitant with her face too. ❤❤❤
Oh, I wish we could film together more often, but when there’s 3000 miles between you, our times are limited. Thanks so much for taking the time to tune in and empathize with the Mirabilia face, the struggle is real!
Such a fun video…. Arica, I just loved the sampler you charted yourself… what a wonderful idea… I think I’d like to do that too one day… thanks for the inspo ❤
Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your kind comments. You really should try designing something as it is a lot of fun and surprisingly even more fun to stitch.
I’m very glad to see you two together having fun! That sampler design from Arica is beautiful! I hope that would make you to design something entirely yours! You’re so talented!😊🌷
Thank you so much for the kind comments Mary. I’m happy to hear you. Enjoy the video and thank you for taking time to connect with us today. I hope you have a wonderful long weekend.
It is a very rainy Saturday here in Ontario today, Perfect day to watch both episodes of your floss tube. Wonderful video and fabulous projects. Thank you so much. I will head down to my stitching spot now and stitch. I do have quite a collection of these charts as well but am slow at stitching.
Arica, I love your design! I am an October baby and autumn is my favorite season. Love the idea of changing the pumpkins to white and green too. I would buy this in a heartbeat if you decide to sell the pattern. Enjoying the long 2 part video of your vacation together. Great stitches, fun stories! Thanks for sharing! P.S.
Thanks for tuning in and connecting with us today. I’m leaning towards releasing the design but I think I’ll just have to see how it stitches up first and if it goes well I will release it for next fall :)

Thank you so much! We are so thankful for each other, we realize how lucky we are to have each other our friendship :) Thank you for taking the time to tune in and connect with us this weekend!
LOL, my comment on part one about the Brenda Keyes book to Samantha, when she wanted to design a family sampler, then in THIS video, Erica shows the same book. Perhaps you can share. And the story of the Lavender and Lace was so touching, and a bit funny. "There's no crying in FlossTube" LOL. xoxo
Yes, you were just a little bit ahead of us! It’s a wonderful book and I’m looking at ordering her other ones as well. Thanks so much for tuning in and watching both episodes, it means a lot to us ❤️
Arica - I agree with Samantha that you should stitch the face as charted to see if it bothers you that much. Your design is really good and I hope you will release it. I started listing some things out of Brenda's book for my own sampler too. The back of confetti stitching cannot possibly be neat - it is the nature of the beast!!
Thank you Nicole :) I have already frogged and restitched the face and left it marinating to see what I think. Thank you for the compliment about the design, we will see how it stitches up :)
I enjoy seeing your beautiful friendship, and it’s lovely that your families get together despite the distance between you. Oh Arica… that mermaid’s face needs some help, but I’m not sure exactly how to fix her. Your other stitching on it is so pretty, though.
Ha ha ha you think it needs just a little help!? I have already frogged the whole thing and re-stitched it… I’m waiting to see what I think about it, what a disaster that was lol. We are very lucky to have such a great friendship and families that love each other so much, it’s really what it’s all about :) thank you for tuning in today and sharing your time with us
As always another great video. I waited to the end of part 2 to comment. I think it is so wonderful that you 2 have such a beautiful life time friendship. Everything the 2 of you do is gorgeous. Arica I love what you have designed. It is so beautiful, I can’t wait to see it finished. That is something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. I am going to go on Amazon and try to find the book. Also what is the app you are using for designing? I can’t wait to see your angel completed and framed. I was so happy to hear that you were going to finish stitching it. Samantha your start on the angel is so beautiful. When you started talking about it and what it meant to you, I started to tear up too. You are a sentimental person and it’s ok to be a little emotional. I’m the same way, I sometimes get emotional over the littlest things. I love your terrarium stitch, the bright colors on the black fabric is stunning. I hope you show your completed piece before you ship it. You 2 are great together. I always like watching you 2 interact with each other. Looking forward to seeing the 2 of you together again next year❤❤❤
Thank you for all the lovely comments Pauline :) the app I’m using is Stitchly and there’s a free version with upgrades which I did for ?30 and it’s was worth every penny! Thank you for tuning in and continuing to share your time with us ❤️
Oh, how fantastic is that?? I will have to pop over and check it out. Lavender and lace designs are so beautiful. I just wish I saw more of them being stitched these days. Thanks so much for tuning in today and enjoy your long weekend.
Thank you for spending your time connecting with us! That’s a very kind offer and we would love Peace Angel. The great thing is we tend to pass our stash back and forth so it would be a wonderful pattern for one of us to stitch :)

Thank you for tuning in and continuing to share your time with us ❤️
I stitched Angel of Love for my sister last year! I posted pictures on my Instagram. 😊
Oh, how fantastic is that?? I will have to pop over and check it out. Lavender and lace designs are so beautiful. I just wish I saw more of them being stitched these days. Thanks so much for tuning in today and enjoy your long weekend.
I have a Lavender & Lace chart named Peace Angel... if either of you would like it, you can have it. Enjoyed your video together...
Thank you for spending your time connecting with us! That’s a very kind offer and we would love Peace Angel. The great thing is we tend to pass our stash back and forth so it would be a wonderful pattern for one of us to stitch :)
❤❤❤
Erica, you surely have a talent for designing your own cross stitch patterns - don’t give up on it! Love to watch the two of you together!
Thank you so much! I never know what others like so designing could be nerve wracking unless you choose to simply make what you love 🙃 thank you for taking the time to connect with us today :)
Maybe if you could talk to someone else and see who they did her face .. get their feelings on what they say.❤❤
Thats a good idea, thank you!
