THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I've had occipital neuralgia pain for the last 10 years. I've done everything from seeing an upper cervical chiropractor 3x a week for 4 years, acupuncture, physical therapy 2x a week for 2 years, many nerve blocks, many medial branch blocks, several cranial sacral therapy sessions, massages and dry needling throughout my whole physical therapy process. Not to mention over 40 different medications that never worked. These stretches have literally saved my life! I've been doing these twice a week for the last month and for the first time in 10 years, I don't have the excruciating nerve pain in my head. I will recommend your channel to everyone!
This is me over the past year. I spent so much on an upper cervical chiropractor its embarrassing and it didn't help. The worst was he made me feel like I'd had to see him for life and like there was no hope when I decided to stop using him.
That’s amazing to hear! Are you pain free now? Or is your pain improving at least? I’d love to hear your response as I suffer from debilitating pain underneath the skull too
The chiropractor I was seeing made me feel the same way. What made it worse is I was seeing a dentist at the time for TMJ and they would play patients to one another to make more money. There are some sick people in this world. The both did more damage to me and made my symptoms so much worse.
I just went for Regenexx treatment injections in my upper cervical ligaments to help strengthen whatever the whiplash weakend to cause all my symptoms. It was my last resort. Ill know within 6 weeks if it will help. It takes that long for tissue to start generating.
I'm so grateful I found this video because after doing this once, it made me feel 95% better headache-wise! I get small "ghost" feelings of a headache only now. I was suffering with a constant headache for roughly 1.5 to 2 weeks and this stopped it in it's tracks. I felt the pain from stretching for the next day since my muscles are really sensitive but after that, no pain! Thank you for your video!!!
Straight up been doing this for months whenever my heart starts hurting and beating irregularly I do this stretch and it fixes it been to two different doctors and they did nothing for me but this is the only thing that has done it thank you soooo much 🙏 just wanna let you know this has changed my life

I have upper cervical instability and EDS. I can’t move my neck down at all. When I do, I develop an immediate migraine. I tried this with very very small movements and the pain was manageable. I know we’ll enough, though, that pushing to a level of “pain” is completely destructive. When I push to even mild pain, I suffer for days. After doing these exercises with very tiny movements, the pain is controlled and I see a small benefit. I’ll be trying this regularly to see if I get some long time benefits. For those of you who have instability and EDS, the rule of thumb is that it should NOT hurt. Even a little bit. This can cause damage. So adjust these exercises if necessary!
You may wanna look into strengthening for ligament laxity on Kjetil Larson - MSK Neurology videos on YT. He says stretching can sometimes be counterproductive esp for whiplash. Strengthening not stretching is his mantra.
@@melodyebuskin5490 That's right I can't see how stretching could be userful for a cervical instability that usually is caused by a ligament and/or miofascial laxity...in that case further stretching could be counterproductive and is usually suggested fascial release and strenghtening
Thank you!!! Your channel is a Godsend. Your channel helped me understand what I've had for over 2 decades. No doctor or therapist has been able to tell me during my search and suffering. I've been treated like a business. They know but don't disclose. I wish you all the best!!!
Very glad and grateful I found these videos by Liebscher-Bracht, this one especially helped my neck problems. Never tried a stretch this deep and slow, keeping the back straight makes a big difference. Vielen Dank!
Simply mind-blowing. I have a HUGE trigger point on the upper back of my neck for years. when I try to massage it, it gives me nausea and/or a headache. While researching, I discovered what cervical instability and cervicovagopathy are. I learned that my asthma (I have suffered from it for years), my headaches, my respiratory instabilities, my inflammations in the fingers, top of the hands, forearms, shoulders, shoulder blades and even my digestion problems could be linked to a problem with the upper cervical level. I tried different movements, without success. I just made your move. Just the video applying everything you said. Mind-blowing result: sensations of relaxation and global re-starting, re-circulation and movement everywhere: arms, elbows, stomach, digestive system, release of a huge weight in the shoulders, chest (for several minutes, I don't have any difficulty breathing at all anymore, which is very rare), the lower left part of my stomach gurgles, tingles and my body seems to be rebooting. And I feel enormously relieved, appeased everywhere. I will do this everyday and see if I can get rid of all the symptoms. Of course I also work on my nutrition and others topics, but this exercise may be the final element to my healing. Thank you SO MUCH !

Thank you for sharing info! Just found you on RUclips. Was in a wreck many years ago. Had to start wearing a neck collar from severe neck pain. No one understands the pain I am in. Refuse to take drugs. Will only take natural pain relief. Hopefully this exercise will be the answer to my prayers. No one seems to understand my pain.
im sorry to hear you've been coping with so much pain - how are you now? any improvements? i have also suffered from chronic neck and jaw pain most of my life - but finally seem to be getting on top of it with lots of yoga, weights, a specialised splint and regular physio and osteo appointments
Thank you so much. I have this issue in the morning only after sleep. The stretch actually helped. The key is not resist bending the neck, else pain starts in neck (cervical disks).
These stretches definitely help but a word or warning if your new to neck stretching.. You gotta be carefull, start by pulling into a pain threshold of 1 and thats it for the first day. See how you feel the next day, if your fine go to a 2, then see how you are the next day and repeat. If you strain the muscles in these areas by accident you can enter a whole world of misery with scary symptoms. Take your time.
I know about scary miseries by having chiropractors adjust my neck. I end up with more pain and in jury, which takes a month to recover and I'm right back to where I started from. If you have Fybromyalgia it's ok to have your back adjusted. But do not let them touch your neck.
Wow....I've been complaining about a pain deep in my neck ( where shoulder and neck meet) I've been experiencing dizziness as well. I hope this helps with dizziness. I was able to finally feel a stretch in there. Thank you!

From what I gather, this video is only showing how to treat occipital neuralgia by itself. If you were to do these exercises with actual cervical instability, you’d only be making that worse. Strengthening comes before stretching.
Strengthening and stretching go hand in hand. People don’t go to the gym and work out before stretching. They stretch, they work out, then they stretch again. Otherwise it can cause damage or injury. You can do these stretches and then do strengthening exercises. You can do stretches, strengthening exercises, then do stretching again. Every body is different, so what might work for one person may not work for another. But I’ve done physical therapy for years for cervical issues, and never once have I ever seen or heard of anybody going to physical therapy and just jumping into strengthening exercises. They always stretch first, and then do the exercises. Often times you do a different stretch after. This trains, the muscles and nerves to work together and keep your body moving like it should. Stretching is just as important as strengthening.
You're most welcome! Thanks for sharing this great feedback with us! 🙌 We're so glad that you could find some relief. 🙏😍 Keep up the good work and practise daily for best results in the long term! I am a doctor. I was looking for a solution for two weeks due to numbness in the c6-c7 dermatome area in my left arm, shortness of breath and palpitation sensation and increased neck pain. All my tests and MRI results were normal. Only minimal syrinx formation was observed at the c6-7 level in the neck MRI, and found not pathological. When I did some research, I learned that syrinx formation may be caused by disruption in the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid and I started your exercises thinking that misalignment in the atlas might be responsible. I also have tmj problem and instability in the sacroiliac joint, I hope I will be better. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience and story with us, Elif! 🙏😊 We also hope that you can relieve your pain and symptoms by doing our exercises on a regularly basis. 💪 As your tests and MRI results were normal, this might indicate that your pain is caused by muscular-fascial tensions (because they can't be seen or found on any results), so you can easily release them by doing our exercises and you have a good chance to get rid of your suffering in the long run. 😍 We've found that most causes of pain are due to tense muscles and fasciae, so our pain therapy is designed to target key pressure points within the body to help it relax and treat the actual root of your pain naturally and sustainably. @annettehawkins3412 not easy to tell. I suppose it has released stiffness from my neck. Generally my tinnitus is reduced but I also do yoga and meditation alongside exercises from Dr. Mandell's and Dr Ben Thompson's channel, which I would also recommend. I do not hear my tinnitus when outside, a godbless really. At home later in the evening it is there. My advice to you would be keep at it for the long run and never disappoint over bouts of loud tinnitus. Even if you improve, they will come for sure. I had one only last night. Cervical Instability causes damage from the c1 c2 and possibly c3 and c4 causing several life threatening symptoms and major damage to the vagus nerve (all which I have). I have a no neck at all and a huge lump before reaching my actual neck my question is are these exercises going to help me restore the curve that I have. My primary goal is to restore the curve, this will hopefully increase the strength of the vagus nerve and remove any life threatening symptoms that I have such as Fatigue, digestion issues, breathing heartrate issues and several more symptoms etc
Hi there, thanks for your comment! We're sorry to hear you're suffering from all these symptoms and conditions. 😞 We can only imagine how excruciating and painful this must be for you! 😥Unfortunately, we are not able to answer your question properly or promise you any success, as we cannot and must not evaluate your individual case from a distance. But our exercises have been proven to help many people with their pain, so it's very likely that they can also help relieve your symptoms and maybe also restore the curve if it's caused by muscular-fascial tensions in the first place. 🙏 As this is a natural treatment approach, we suggest that you just give it a try, because you can't lose anything! 🙂 Go slow and steady, and always remember to use your personal pain scale from 1 to 10 when performing our exercises. Stretch until you reach a 9 on this scale, but always stay under a 10 which means that you should feel an intense pain, but you're still able to breathe calmly and you don't have to tense up. 🙂💪 Please let us know how you get on and how you feel! We'd love to hear your results. 🤗 Best wishes, Hannah from Liebscher & Bracht

Sir, when you said "And no sudden movements especially with these extreme stretches always stay under 10 on your personal pain scale that make sure everything feels good but still try to approach the 10 as closely as you can because we have to give stimuli so the body can respond if the stretch is under that threshold too mild with no pain at all that's not enough nothing will happen" Sir, what is mean by 10 here ? Waiting for your response Take care, bye Regard from Pakistan
Hi, I have a few questions. If your neck is unstable and you do these stretches, wouldn’t it make it worse? Shouldn’t you also do neck strengthening exercises? Isn’t your exercise just treating the symptoms? I guess what I am trying to say is if your neck is tight it’s b/c of some reason, ie….weaknesses in your neck, shoulders etc. If we just stretch and not strengthen wouldn’t it just become more unstable? Need to find the root cause. Your thoughts? Thank you for your time!
Hi there 🙂 Thanks for sharing your questions with us. If you do these stretches regularly and hold them for 2 to 2.5 minutes, this will not only help release tension, but also strengthen your muscles in the long run. 💪🙂 In the advance version, our stretching exercises include strengthening impulses, also called isometric tensing. They strengthen your muscles exactly where there was no strength before. We hope this helps! All the best Hannah from Liebscher & Bracht

Hello. I have been suffering from extremely high blood pressure for years. Medication has had little or no effect. Performing these excercises has brought my BP to close to normal. Thinking the culprit was the sympathetic and parasympathic nerve connection in the upper cervical area. Is this true? In any case, I'm experiencing positive results with BP. Thank you so very much!
Hi there 🙂 Thanks for sharing your positive feedback with us! It's wonderful to hear our exercises helped normalize your blood pressure. 💪🙂 Although we can't properly assess your individual case from a distance, your sympathetic and parasympathic nerve connection could have caused your problem. If they were kind of trapped due to muscular-fascial tensions in your cervical spine, our exercises may have released them and helped “free” the nerve . 💪🙂 Please get more detailed information on the cause, resulting symptoms, and best treatment options of atlas vertebrae problems. 👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-atlascorrection Best wishes, Hannah from Liebscher & Bracht
Hey Doctor! Very informative video, I have upper cervical neck issues and I plan on starting these stretches to see if they help! I do have a question though. You say make the pain as close to a 10 as possible, but what pain is considered "good pain" and what pain is "stop"? Like. Any signs or feelings associated with the stretching pain we should look out for that lets us know if its too much for us? If that makes sense? Thanks!
Hey ive been doing these exercuses and they are very helpful. Do you think running is advisable with this problem. Because after I run the pain usually feels better.
Hi, Allen! Thanks for your feedback! 🙏😊 We're happy to hear that our exercises are helpful to you! 💪🙂 In general we think that exercising and running are hugely beneficial to helping with all kinds of pain. If you rest too much, your muscles and joints gets stiff and sore, but if you exercise regularly you can help strengthen and heal your body. However, as running is a one-sided movement which might also increase the tension in your muscles, it's important to release this tension by doing our stretches and exercises. Therefore, if you're suffering from acute pain, running shouldn't be your first choice for pain relief and you might better pause it until your pain has improved. 🙏 Best wishes, Hannah from Liebscher & Bracht

Thanks for sharing your personal experience with us, Rolf! 🙂 We're happy to hear you felt good afterwards. 💪 Please keep doing these stretches regularly for best results. Just one very important tip: always use your personal pain scale from one to ten as a guide. You will get the best results if you work at a level eight or nine. Nine means: You feel intense pain, but you can still breathe calmly during the exercise and do not have to tense up. This applies to all exercises. 🙂 If you have further questions, just let us know or have a look at our article on atlas problems. 👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-atlascorrection Please keep us updated on how you get on and how you feel! Hi Doc, can atlas misalignment cause vagus nerve compression and issues related to vagus tone? Such as breathing problems, food intolerances, skin problems, memory problems etc ?

@@Liebscher.Bracht_EN I concluded, this exercise is not for craniocervical instability with vagus nerve issues, I had breathless days and sleepless nights for almost 15 days
We're sorry to hear this! 😞 Usually, these exercises should also be helpful with your symptoms, although we can't properly evaluate your individual case from a distance. That's why you better always check in with your physician before you attempt any of the exercises. 🙏 Have you remembered to go slow and steady, and always aim to reach a nine on your personal pain scale from 1 to 10? A ten is just too painful and you have to tense up (which you should always avoid!), but a nine is an intense pain that still allows you to breathe calmly. Remembering this pain scale ensures that these exercises are performed effectively, but you're not harming your body or worsening your pain. 🙂 Best wishes Hannah from Liebscher & Bracht

I have recently heard about upper cervical pressure if you go to a chiropractor and he knows how to do this type of manipulation that he's very knowledgeable in it he will explain to you that the Atlas and axis if all the place will cause some major problems with the rest of your body I would suggest everybody to do a little bit of research on that type of work there has been cases where people who's had blindness restored whether that is true or not I'm just going by what I have been researching on the internet it's important that we all do our personal research and learn about this I'm not saying it's going to help everybody but it's another option that could be very well looked into

@@BL-rb7jm I went to a nucca chiro. Honestly, I did have neck issues, but his adjustments which he did not do every visit really didn’t do much. I find that those chiros want to sign you up for months several times a week costing alot of money. I refused to sign up for their little scheme, however still went month to month for far too many visits. When your in pain you hope, though I kinda knew going in, I didn’t trust this particular guy 100%. The only thing that moves bones are the muscles, period. You can have a bone out, but the root cause are the muscles, either by weakness/dysfunction.
My neck is so unstable i cant even do the excercise, I cant hold it more than few secs or it gives me debilitating symptoms in my head, very related to vascular and sudden jolts through head and neck and my neck starts tremoring
Hi Laura! 🙂 Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your personal experience with us. We're really sorry to hear your cervical spine is so unstable you're not even able to perform the exercises properly. 😞 If they are too tough and painful for you, we recommend you to go slow and steady, and always remember your personal pain scale from 1 to 10 as a guide when exercising. Please aim to reach a nine which is an intense pain that still allows you to breathe calmly, whereas a ten is already too painful and you have to tense up. Remembering this pain scale ensures that these exercises are performed effectively, but you're not harming your body or worsening your pain. Even if you already reach a 9 after a second or a centimeter, that's still good to start with. Stretch as far as possible and hold this position for about 2 minutes. If you repeat our exercises daily, you'll see you make some progress after a while and you will get better into the stretch each time. 🙏 Perhaps you can also find a therapist close to you who can assist you with these exercises. 💪 For further pain management tips and information on atlas vertebra problems, please check out this article. 👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-atlascorrection We hope this helps. How are you doing, I guess that I have cervical instability(even that neither neurologist, neurological exams, physiatrist, psychiatrist can't see any problem) . I just tried one exercise from the internet, holding my chin to the chest, while pushing back of the head with both hands and after 15 sec in that pose,I pinched my nerve(at least I think it's nerve) and now I need to exercise even less, which will screw me even more(I mean right now I can't even move)...
This really helped. I was curious, does this work with cervical spine instability? I have what I believe to be cardiovascular issues like palpitations, chest tightness, and racing heart. I believe it has something to do with my vagus nerve. Does this make sense? Any other stretches I can do?

I’d love to hear your response as I suffer from debilitating pain underneath the skull too
Yes my pain has improved a lot by doing these stretches. It made me cry to find something that finally worked.

This stretch was probably one the best ones I’ve ever done
Do you have a constant headache/head pain with your cci?
@@melodyebuskin5490 That's right I can't see how stretching could be userful for a cervical instability that usually is caused by a ligament and/or miofascial laxity...in that case further stretching could be counterproductive and is usually suggested fascial release and strenghtening

Thank you!!! Your channel is a Godsend.
Your channel helped me understand what I've had for over 2 decades. No doctor or therapist has been able to tell me during my search and suffering. I've been treated like a business. They know but don't disclose.
I wish you all the best!!!
I am amazed. I had a neck pain since 3 weeks and even my massage therapist couldn’t make it go away. This helped 100%! 😮thank you!
Very glad and grateful I found these videos by Liebscher-Bracht, this one especially helped my neck problems. Never tried a stretch this deep and slow, keeping the back straight makes a big difference. Vielen Dank!
Thank you this helped me with a decade of neck and TMJ pain.
HOW did This also help with TMJ?
Look into the sternocleidomastoid muscle that can cause alot of theses issues as well. Trigger point release therapy can do wonders.
How are you?

These stretches definitely help but a word or warning if your new to neck stretching.. You gotta be carefull, start by pulling into a pain threshold of 1 and thats it for the first day.
Wow that was amazing thank you soooo much

Also I've had migraines since I was a kid but haven't had a migraine attack in a long time they've come back in the last few months.
Somatic tinnitus brought me here. After 10 days of stretches, I feel they have a lot of potential. I'll keep at it for a few weeks more.
I have the same. Has your condition improved?
@annettehawkins3412 not easy to tell. I suppose it has released stiffness from my neck. Generally my tinnitus is reduced but I also do yoga and meditation alongside exercises from Dr. Mandell's and Dr Ben Thompson's channel, which I would also recommend. I do not hear my tinnitus when outside, a godbless really. At home later in the evening it is there. My advice to you would be keep at it for the long run and never disappoint over bouts of loud tinnitus. Even if you improve, they will come for sure. I had one only last night. Do your exercises, love yourself, and stay calm and positive. Good luck!

Hi there,
thanks for your comment! 🤗

Hi there 🙂
Thanks for sharing your questions with us.

In general we think that exercising and running are hugely beneficial to helping with all kinds of pain. 🙏

Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your personal experience with us. We're really sorry to hear your cervical spine is so unstable you're not even able to perform the exercises properly. 😞 If they are too tough and painful for you, we recommend you to go slow and steady, and always remember your personal pain scale from 1 to 10 as a guide when exercising. Remembering this pain scale ensures that these exercises are performed effectively, but you're not harming your body or worsening your pain. Even if you already reach a 9 after a second or a centimeter, that's still good to start with. Stretch as far as possible and hold this position for about 2 minutes.
