"Smells awful!"
2:11 * proceeds to take another sniff *
"NNAAAAWH"
Haha, nice one bro

@@Josuh Uy un papulince
@The Last Nightmare Papulince tu ma, respeta
Exactly my thoughts 🤣
Elliot: WHY DOES THIS EXIST!
Also Elliot: Today we are gonna make the original gameboy taller for no reason
or just two screens XD
INCREASE THE "WHY" FACTOR BY MAKING IT LONGER AND ADDING A SECOND SCREEN. THIS SHALL BE YOUR MAGNUM OPUS.
Also use some second-hand pedal accesory with a hydraulic system that pushes the L button. I mean, sure, you can just solder a wire, but that would be less universal.
Ato Manowski that’s actually useful though
@@aubreyh1930 gets it
thats just a ds
@@DeathracerXD YOU'RE A DS
I had one of these and I loved it. Mine was black though. My favourite was taking it with me on car journeys and playing V-Rally.
My head canon is that his hat is pronounced "why" for this video and not "we"
2:07 me when I enter the loos at wetherspoons
i miss spoons
And then you also take a second sniff?
I confess this yank had to google image search this comment to understand it haha. "Bar restroom" for other clueless Americans :)
@Joshes Brioches dont forget the sticky floors and have the toilets having broken locks
@@ttwedell I've been to America and somehow our whetherspoons toilets are worse than a gas station bathroom. Hell the biker bars have better bathroom too.
Just imagine, playing F-Zero in this thing.
My first thought
its a shame he didnt try that
I eat cockroaches
incredible
absolutely phenomenal
agree
I can imagine this thing would only be usable with a screen lighting mod, because that bulky housing would surely prevent proper outside lighting from getting to the screen.
That's really clever engineering, thanks for the video too! I love seeing these old peripherals, there's so many diverse ideas out there and some of them can be really interesting!
No one :
Elliot mid driving making sound effects : Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
The problem is that since it's still using the D-pad, you won't get the precision you would expect from a better steering wheel accessory, so something like this would work best if it connected to the extension cord, and even then, it would only work with games designed for it.
Lmao I actually had this as a kid, my parents bought it at Radio Shack and I don't think I even actually asked for it. The original GBA was already hard enough to see as it was, and adding this contraption didn't make things easier and I just chucked it in the closet lol
Imagine carrying this around 😄 You have a sponsor proud mom tears 😆😆
@Jaden Bissell That would be funny don't you think? GB and a steering wheel.
@Jaden Bissell ...
Your his mom
F
I had this when I was younger. I really enjoyed it with GT Advance II
*Opens the packaging* immediately inhales it
Well, that “steering wheel” is made way more complex than it seems...
That makes for a unique display stand for a GBA, when not in use. Attach to mains power, put a game with demo mode on it, and presto, tiny conversational piece on your shelf. Heck, I have something called GBA movie player. Video from CF card. Record some gameplay from various games, and have it play on a loop. Instant art piece! :D
If it weren't for the shoulder buttons, that could have become a popular accessory. Gadget Racers would be fun to try.
Oh, this is the first episode of Why? that I've caught. I dig the format, love watching your channel grow!! Keep it up Elliot
"Why?!" *begins furiously slapping head* "Here's why!"
Simon is life
Nice
*Almost every console had a steering wheel. Even if it doesn't have racing games.* (Trust me, that could happen)
Because why not? It’s actually wonderful for any driving game like GTA
Need for speed gba games is cool.
I'm trying to think of a console that doesn't have racing games lol the virtual boy I think? That shitty Mattel console that uses cards to choose characters forgot the name. Well I think that literally had only two games lol
Magnovox Odyssey which only had different versions of pong lol
@@jonnyOysters hyperscan is the console with cards.
@@Izhen_UwU yeah that's it
The easiest way to open clam shell packaging is with a can opener. You just clamp it in place, turn the crank, and let the blade do its job.
I kind of want to see you play Metroid Fusion with this. That would be a crazy video.
That's absolutely amazing .. I thought of building such a device for myself but seeing this exists I will definitely search for that and buy one ... maybe even buy one on my next Italy vacation
You know I've been watching you for a while now, and it's been fun to watch your speaking confidence go up
this would be amusing with a gba game called spyhunter, there's a ps2 version but the gba is most memorable for having an inexplicable arcade mode where you have to run over as many chickens as you can within a time limit... yes i don't know either
My first thought when I saw this video was "oh God he's made a steering wheel, too." Honestly, I kinda wish you did.
For this "Why" video, I appreciate that you wore your "Why" hat.
As someone who owned one of these, thank you for the Nostalgia trip!
Awesome video hope to see more random accessories for the game boy 😁 keep up the great contest!
Something that would have been nice is if they had a way to simulate analog control for steering.
ELLIOT about 2 days before you posted this video, I bought 3 of these sealed for about $10! They’re so neat!
I’d love to see someone playing on this with GameCube link cable function
Wow, what a neat little thing. I was expecting something like those Wii bundles of 'sport' items (golf club, tennis racket etc).
Yooo this is actually really interesting to see, and the Why? series name is perfect for it!
This is extremely interesting for some reason. Thanks for the awesome content!!
2:45 "[...]You just chuck it in your pocket, where is THIS going?"
In the trash. The answer is in the trash.
@theretrofuture ur my best friend during this troubling time
I didn't know that, THING, existed. Great video!
Bro love ur vids keep up the amazing work
I thought this was another custom mod video
I love your stuff brother! Would you be able to do an updated video with where you use a Gameboy player and the GBA as the controller. This way you can look at the TV screen and use the steering wheel below.
Thats why i love retro stuff.
Great video! love it!
V-Rally 3 is my favorite GBA game, so I immediately bought one of these on EBay lol
you gave " don't drive and text " a new and retro view
I'm quite surprised Metal Jesus Rocks has never found this and done a video on it 😂 he's always talked about how much he loves his GBA racing games
Come to Italy, we have the wheels for the GBA!
Cosa? 😂
We do? Lol
Come to the States, we have potholes for the GBA!
GT advance and V Rally 3 were both great GBA installments for racing fans.
How dare you
I too look completely to the side when greeting people
Just found your channel today, also just found out there's another person with the name Elliot with one "t" (I don't actually have 3 t's in my name lol) so I had to subscribe.
You know the one eyed bird in Futurama? I reckon you could GBA up a forearm thingy so you can wear AND play your GBA a treat, bit of leather offcuts on ebay, some stretchy elastic to give it some grip to your forearm, dunno if you could curve a GBA screen but some screens can be curved a little. Get Vince on board to build up some super power hand trigger and motion sensor using sixteen different Chinese connectors and a handy output for making a cup of tea or mowing the lawn... :P
I remember a Ford Rally Carr Racing game on GBA that i used to play
@The Retro Future I don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment. But after seeing your previous video and watching you restore the TPS-L2 Walkman so well it made me remember my TPS-L2 Walkman. When I had bought it from someone two years ago the battery container was completely corroded. I was a lot younger back then and I had started to dismantle the Walkman and I had started cleaning it and got it to take power again and even run a little. But then disaster struck as I was cleaning one of the battery contacts two of the battery wires fell off. I tried asking a friend to re solder the wires back on but then he ended up disintegrating them also dropping a ball of solder into the Walkman. After that he tried to “fix“ the issue and he ended up hot glueing new but wrong wires back onto the contacts. It left me with a broken Walkman and I’ve never been able to find someone to fix it or fix it myself. I don’t know if you do this but have you ever repaired and restored something for a viewer? I would be willing to pay the costs to repair it and for whatever you needed for restoring it. It also has some of the wear your Walkman had in the video. I don’t know if you do that but maybe it could make a cool video. I’ve just never seen anyone who knows how to restore and repair this model like you. I hope this gets to you. Maybe I could send it via your PO Box if you would be interested in doing the repair and restore of it. I also commented this before on the Walkman video.
Sounds awful! Sorry, but I do not do work on viewers items.
That’s ok. Thanks for the great videos.
I just love ur vids
Dear Retrofuture! I would like to ask you, to make a Digiblast review! Its a really cool competitor from the nintendo ds, Sony PSP ages, and its have many cool functions. And this console was have many licensed games, like spider men, Xmen, and Atari brands. I think this cool handheld deserve an episode in your channel!
Thank you and have a nice day!
This is the best we have ever seen you play Mario kart.
I wonder if a game cartridge could have support for steering, like the tilt controls in kirby’s tilt and tumble for game boy color.
Wow! I bought a US branded one of these from Best Buy's clearance section for 1 penny about 15 years ago. I completely forgot about it until now. I spent a week trying to convince myself it was worth the single cent I paid.
Wow, didn't know this existed - actually pretty neat!
He smells it once, hates it, smells it again, Hayes it again, then you can hear him smell it throughout the rest of the video. Nice, Elliot
this thing awesome, great overview of the item
Loving the wii hat
His hat has the answer
Wii
Yes
The answer to why is yes
Only now that the gba consolizer exists can I somewhat justify this… thing
Edit: I just realized you wouldn’t be able to attach it, is there a snes wheel? That could work.
His Wii hat is awesome
Mod it with the paddles for shoulder buttons and pedals which activate a and b using cables.
Hi, Elliot! Please do a video on a custom modded original 2ds. I would like to see the physical mods you can do to it.
i definitely see myself as a kid wanting to have this.
U might have got this alot but I appreciate that u are able to pst such entertaining vedios during this time, wish u could help me with my Gameboy but u seem to be ignoring my Dms .
Give this man a couple million subs
yo Elliot, an italian youtuber called Karim Musa (Yotobi) also reviewed this wheel!
And the box is in italian too!
This could have been really neat, if the Game Boy Advanced had analog pressure sensitive directional buttons then you'd be to steer a little and get small amount of steering in game. Have on/off button hooked to a will must be a bit of a trip.
Soo cool and love the wii hat
That looks good for warmup ware twist
Imagine playing the whole Super Mario Advance series with THIS...
or Sonic advance series
I had this! I played my barbie spy game car level with it! It didn't do anything (beneficial) but I had and used it
I would love to see a platform we played on this thing
Nice Wii hat :)
Birthday to do something like this for the Nintendo switch I know that you can use the joycons in a racing wheel but I'm talking about having the joycon still attached to the system in an entire racing wheel
ayy I had one of these as a kid
This is actually pretty neat
Now I need a Super Famicom styled GBA.
There is ONE game I know of that this is useful for.
Yoshi's Topsy-Turvy.
No one:
The retro future: *opens and smells it* aaaaaahh that smells
'Ahh, it stinks nice and good'
someone needs to try to complete sonic advance with this
Very smart design
Please do more weird accessories like this.
2:50
"Where's this going?!"
😏
I remember this you should review also the game duck....
This is an interesting Peripheral.
This thing might be perfect for OutRun from the Sega Arcade Gallery...
Now time to play some Metroid on it.
"Where's this going?"
I think you and I both know where it's going.
Brilliant for Shreks Bog race
Nobody:
Not Even a mouse:
Him: I A M. U S I N G. T I L T. C O N T R O L S
I wonder if it’s possible to use the link cable to game cube adapter cable to control racing games on the game cube or GBA games on gameboy player and use the wheel that way
Is the smell the cheap plastic/old electronic smell? I got a GBA speaker/battery/grip/rumble accessory, and it smelled kinda weird, but it went away after a while. It still has an odd smell that's hard to explain, but there is something going on. But I do like the thing I got, called Power Rumble FX, even if just for the extra volume and rechargeable battery. But wow, there were some odd attachments for the GBA, most of them seem pretty good.
@TheRetroFuture umm I just noticed that we have the same Super Famicom edition Gameboy Advance lol
What knife is he using? It looks really cool
*smells awful*
goes back for a second sniff....
Stay golden lol
