Playing all.sort of games like antakshari, dumb charades or just shouwing off with how many multiplication tables they know.... I miss my childhood.
Farooq Shaikh, One of the best actor in the Indian parallel cinema. He was just awesome. Also, Deepti Naval and Farooq had one of the best on screen chemistry.

I'm so happy that you guys have reviewed this song. The lyrics, the music and the singers, each and every aspect of this song is an emotion, especially for someone coming off age in the late 70s, early 80s!! I really wish you understood the language, because you don't hear this song, you feel it!!

Extraordinary impact they’ve had on the ghazal scene. Sadly, Jagjit sa’ab is no more. Chitra ji does not sing, not since their son died in the 90s. Kuldeep Singh, the music director, is not a relative. He is a theatre guy mostly. This was his biggest hit. Farooq-Deepti movies have a huge fan-base. This one is up there along with Chashme Buddoor, Kisi se na kehna (great cast), and a few more I’m unable to recall. One had Naseeruddin too. All very watchable. Cheers!
When are you coming to India....at least for a visit??? Yes, there’s mosquito menace here but we have all the means and devices to get rid of it, including various mosquito nets in case if you wish to sleep on the terrace or balcony. As for the rain, it arrives differently in different states, somewhere early, somewhere late. I think it’s already stated raining in south India but will take couple of more days to reach middle parts of the country and then the north India. Btw, nice pick, nice song!
Nice poetry (you expect this level from Javed Akhtar). But most of it lost in translation/trans(mis)creation. Jagjit and Chitra, the couple, were and are ghazal legends. Dipti Naval and Farooq Shekh were benign presence on the big screen in 1980s.
Jagjit and Chitra were ghazal singers but they had a tragic lives. Chitra lost her only son in an accident and her daughter from her previous marriage commited suicide.
Subtitles are way off... absolutely ruined the song. As for sleeping outside ,we used to sleep on the terrace in summers...it is one of the most beautiful memories of our childhood... watching the stars, learning about astronomy coz we could see the stars as there was no light pollution in those days...we still do,but rarely nowadays. Nostalgia.
Very nice song suggestion. But the subtitles were not that good. But it happens with the poetry and a song while translating from one language to another. Well to tell you more, there was a rise of some REALISTIC cinema, (called as ART FILMS then) in India from the 80s against the then commercial cinema. They criticized the stars and commercial films, thinking they were doing some great artwork. And then within a decade or so this ART FILMS vanished. Again since covid, with the rise of OTT, such so called DIFFERENT and REALISTIC movie trends have started. We will have to see for how long these kinds of films will survive. With OTT they might. Had it only been theatres, I am sure all these REALISTIC CINEMA and its makers would have vanished by now. And yes, FAROOQ SHEIKH & DIPTI NAVAL did many films together. They were a very popular onscreen couple. Both fantastic actors.

No, Aug we get very heavy rains in Mumbai... no body can sleep on terrace. Mumbai has only April and May as Summer months.

Even now in India people head to terraces for sleep during hot summer nights and sometimes if there's a power cut during nights😊
