I just don’t get you Roman fans like why do you keep forgetting the amount of effort it went into making Roman what he was during 3 years of his reign. First the storyline was mostly Heyman idea, second Heyman and so many other guys made bloodline what it is just as much as Roman if not more, storyline was written by writers even the freaking rock was involved when it started to get boring, even Sami was a addition when it got boring. Third they had to give him new theme song as well. They had to completely rework Roman and give him so many extra characters to make bloodline. No, some of us felt Roman should've retained the title at wrestlemania and kept the title in potentially this vacated. The title said it is losing it. Some of us predicted ahead of time that rain was gonna be good whatsoever. It's not about living up to what Roman did his head, rain isn't good, he has had only organic storyline since he won that championship and I was against AJ styles that he's been thrown in the main event with a WWE championship match against solo. Everyone's more focused about is Roman reigns returning at the end of the night go look at John Cena. Go look at Daniel Bryant. They had countless storylines throughout the entire year with and without the title there's absolutely no reason that champion has had the third or fourth best storyline since having the championship there's no reason for it because this isn't working and no one wants to see it

Like I initially said, it made no sense for Drew to win the money in the bank briefcase. If you was gonna get screwed by punk in the championship match when you could've just had punk screw Drew in the money in the bank match and have Jay Uso win it. Considering he is completely over organically having him take the title off of Cody Road create a whole new topic when Roman have a steel cage. You could have so many more things because he is actually a part of that family tree in that bloodline storyline once Roman comes back. It was shocking that some point cost Drew in the world championship match but not the money in the bank match. That was shocking but you basically wasted for the future eventually, we're going to get this. Versus Drew versus Seth match they can ride that as long as they want, but they could've still wrote that without seeing screwing the championship match only the other hand while we're having that storyline we could've been having two outstanding storylines with J being the contract winner and potentially cashing in on Cody maybe at SummerSlam while he's fighting solo that a whole entire new aspect to the family tree with Jay being a champion who would potentially become the tribal chief

I remember like a month before wrestlemania me and my lady were talking about what if Roman loses the title. I told her even if he does lose it, the hype behind Cody winning is only gonna last a week or two. And then word for word I said to her “because it’s not Roman. I tried to tell people Damian Priest should have cashed in on Cody to become the biggest heel but people complained. When Cody pinned Roman at Mania. In the middle of him handing his mom the title. Priest music should have dropped. HHH then pedigrees Cody. The Judgement day along with Mcintrye rush the ring. They beat up Cena, Orton, and anybody else in the ring. Rhea pushes Cody mom to the ground and The Judgement day attack Cody. Eventually Priest says he cashing in and he hits the South of Heaven. The boos from the crowd reign down and Priest stands tall. HHH comes out tomorrow on Raw explaining why he did it. He says Cody was talking crap in another company so he could not let Cody become the “Guy”. If HHH would have did this. Cody story would have had a huge plot twist and better character development.

This happens to every babyface that wins the title on a big stage. This even happened with Daniel Bryan. 2 months in, people were saying his reign was "boring". Just the way fans are, since the Attitude era, fans respond best to heels and established people who had gone through face, heel, face changes. Cody is still establishing his report at the top and may need to go through a face, heel, tweener stage at his current level. New babyfaces are always labeled "boring" when the title chase is over. No different from the idea of relationships. The chase, the dating, the big wedding/wrestlemania/summerslam title winning moment, then the real work of the day-to-day begins. You now have to go through some things that will test the love!

I don’t think his title is bad. I think we’re just in a transitional period because Roman reigns held the belt for too long and he done so much good for it. It’s just not a fair comparison cause I see some people comparing his reign to Roman. I do think solo beating him would not hurt Cody. I think it would make sense for the bloodline story that he loses the belt and hold it till around war games where Roman could screw solo out of the belt and Cody wins it back. Cody and the rock can still happen. But i like to be patient and see where It’s gonna go. I think it will get better

But it kind of makes sense, though I find him to be more of a title chaser in my opinion than a title holder. If you look back a year ago, the feuds with Brock Lesnar I feel like him winning the belt a year ago would’ve made that ring a year ago more meaningful because he went up against some very interesting contenders. But I think Cody is just being booked too perfectly for someone that had to climb long roads to get the belt. He hasn’t been through a bit of a struggle champion up until solo. I think solo beating him would not hurt Cody, but to add to the story for the bloodline Cody is just a better title chaser.

All these can be all time feuds with but they have Cody feuding with mid-carders just to buy time. What kept Roman’s lengthy reign interesting was that there was an overall mask of the bloodline story and the title defenses just helped to advance that story.
Cody doesn’t have that so it matters a lot who he’s feuding with.

Even though he isn't built up, you could bring Bron Breaker into the mix by doubling down on his carnage and turning him into a fear monger in the locker room. Instead of having Bron Breaker terrorize people for only a mid card belt, they really could turn him on Cody and the entire roster by making him want more than one belt. Realistically, that fits into his current goal of wanting to make no one, and he means no one, question him or his power.

Not saying it wouldnt be a good match, but the amount of times that Randy and KO helped him fight the Bloodline would sort of sully that camaraderie in brothers standing together. Theyd have to change how they handle the Bloodline and make them interesting before that because they are all in weird spots (in my opinion).
CM Punk wouldve made a good problem and so would have Gunther(if he wasnt locked in with Priest) or Seth Rollins (if he wasnt locked in with Punk and Mcintyre).

This is not Cody's fault this is WWE's fault.
As soon as Raw on Netflix is announced, WWE made sure that tons of top stars stays on Raw to gain more audience for 2025 while they put Cody on SmackDown to keep the show watchable yet they never put superstars on top card level or even close to Cody's level.
Drew McIntyre, Wyatt Sicks, Bron Breakker, Ilja Dragunov, Sheamus, Gunther, Judgment Day, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn
they are all on Raw until next year while SmackDown has Cody, The New Bloodline, and mostly mid card stars.

The only reason it feels like it's getting boring is that there's no real bad guys anymore. Roman has left for now but who else was on that level? After Wrestlemania, I'm finding it hard to watch.

Cody Rhodes had one of the most interesting storylines in wrestling history (Grinding 16 years to go from undesirable to undeniable + Achieving what Dusty never could) but now that he has completed that story, what's next? His character as a main eventer isn't as electric/must-see as John Cena, CM Punk, Roman, or even Drew McIntyre before him.
I hope Cody and the creative team can fix that down the road. It'd be a shame if his title reign wasn't a success.

I think his reign has been too perfect. That’s the issue. This might be crazy to say but even 2015. Seth had a solid run. He really did. I mean he beat Lesnar and Roman and John Cena and Sting in one title reign. That was 2015 people actually stay tuned to see him lose the belt. And he was a coward type of like The Miz/Edge. All Cody needs is edge. Not saying he needs to go full Stone Cold Steve Austin but he’s too much of a nice guy. They also need to switch the title more. The attitude era and ruthless aggression era were great because the title was constantly being defend and switched between worthy opponents with compelling storylines to compliment that.

His two big most recent rivals are two men who are never going to be full time competitors ever again. I have said it before on a different YT channel and I'll say it again here, the story is finished but the book isn't over, there's still the epilogue and unfortunately isn't not as good as the story, it usually never is (Daniel Bryan: Yes Movement, Kofi Kingston: Kofimania, Seth Rollins: Universe Slayer). It also doesn't help how predictable the outcome is, we all know he's going to be champion for at least a year but WWE should still have him face someone with a believable chance of winning. That did that 4 times with Roman Reigns last year alone at WrestleMania 39, Summerslam, Crown Jewel, and Clash at the Castle). The only person with a believable chance at beating Cody Rhodes right now is Randy Orton and its not even at this exact moment in time.

Cody was always projected as the underdog so his reign would never be great. Also in my opinion a face should not hold the title for too long it takes the fun out of it.
Between Cody and Roman, the chase of Cody provided epic thrill to the fans no matter what Roman threw at him he never backed down that was what all the fans wanted to see.
The sooner Cody drops the title the better it is, so a small LA knight heel arc or a Randy Orton heel arc and lifting the Universal title would bring much needed freshness to the scenery at Smackdown

I fully agree with this video. I always felt that the crossroads lacked the impact of the best finishers in the game. I also thought that his opponents for the title have been lackluster or at least the way their stories have been written has fallen flat. A champion is only as good as his competition or in this case how credible the threat. We need to feel like he could possibly lose the title at every defense because his opponent is so dominant or at least on a roll with a lot of momentum
