I think it's more in line with Shinada's motivations at the time. He's had everything taken from him by Yakuza, and he wants to be the one to get it back for himself. He doesn't just want a handout from Daigo, he wants to fulfill his dreams on his own in spite of what happened to him.
It's called "This is my story" because Shinada had enough of others choosing how his life should play out. So now he is gonna beat Daigo and start creating his own path and story, and reclaim what was stolen from him all those years ago. What a great fight, it really felt like the final battle for Shinada's section despite it not being so!
I really like the vibe this song gives off. It really does feel like it portrays the journey of a character who considers himself to be a loser, a nobody, with nothing to lose and nothing to gain anymore. But in this moment, in this fight, he stands up for himself, shows his pride, and beats the crap out of a guy who, in his and the audience's expectation, should technically have no problems beating him. It's got such a motivational power to it, really. I came here today because the scale said that I was weighing less than 100kg this morning, for the first time in years. That's when I knew I had to listen to this today.
The jap version is litteraly a love song. The eng version which they created SO THEY WOULDNT HAVE TO DEAL WITH COPYRIGHT, IS PROBABLY BETTER THAN THE OG SONG

shinada has to be one of my favorite characters in terms of fighting. almost every fight makes him strong enough to deal damage but not strong enough to do infinite loops or counter spam. they definitely made the experimental character with weeks more effort because tanimura kinda sucked lmao
Dude what, Tanimura is so fun. He can parry like crazy which leads into awesome wall bounding hits, his throws give you invincibility and they are multi-tiered so you can do heat actions in between them or do light/heavy attack in different ways. Most importantly, EVERY combo leads into a heat action. How cool is that?!
@@sheevpalps3846 tanimura didnt really have any way to attack bosses well which made fights feel sluggish. on the other side hes the most fun character to use against random goons
@@Sockren Not really, most of his bosses aren't grab immune so you can abuse that move, throw them on the ground, or do grab heat actions. Exactly. And several of the games before had people staging plots *against* Daigo Dojima, but in this one, there's a plot BY Daigo Dojima 👍
