Sitting here in early January 2025 & I’m catching the vibes from years and years ago!!!!! Music is everything…the beat of our souls whenever we hear it☮️
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Neil Young at a pre-release screening of his movie "Harvest Time" while I was employed at Paramount Studios as part of an events production crew. Very real down-to-earth guy. We chatted for a few minutes, I thanked him for his body of work, we shook hands and wished each other well. I've had a good life so far, blessed.
Neil Young got me through high school. Of all my rock'nroll heroes Neil is the only one who never sold out. Never went for the money. He is a national treasure.
You know how I see Mr. Young? A man. Alpha man.. calming- but doesn’t back down for nonsense and makes decisions.. and he’s humble about where that type of energy comes from.. I think it comes from the soul.
Like that time he pulled all of music off of Spotify in protest of Joe Rogan. I remember that. He really stood firm and put his music back up just a month or so after pulling it. He never backs down!!!!
Neil's singlemindedness was/is remarkable. So many people in their mid-teens, I include myself, either didn't have his belief in, or his focus on, the thing we may have wanted to do - if we had any notion of what that might have been. What a magnificent catalog has arisen from his determination and willingness to stand against the tide of public opinion.
Last time I saw Neil Young was on stage at a small Victorian theater in Chicago... he was 25 years old and came on stage to sing his first album hits with Crosby Stills and Nash... Best concert of my life!
I'm really glad that I found this interview. Thank you Neil for doing it I've been listening to you for over 50 years my first album I got was after the Gold rush. Love you man you're really cool and you're true to yourself Neil I think that's why I really get into you cuz I consider you an old hippie just like me. And we stay true to ourselves
Great interview, thank you! Neil is the quintessential artist....dares to try new things....not be pigeon holed....always pushing forward wherever Creativity inspires him....
As a teenager, Buffalo Springfield was my go-to band. Living in the Los Angeles area, I was able to see them many times, and to meet Neil on more than one occasion. Here I am, 55 years later, as a university professor. I am going to use this video in my "Musicians and Entrepreneurship" course.
I did not have any feelings towards Neil Young’s music when I was a kid in the 1970s one way or another… And then I saw him perform in 1985 at the first Farm Aid concert . When he played “Heart of Gold” for us, I finally understood and cried!
I went through that I hated him, then thought he was hip and edgy for a season or two.. but then I found out he wants people to die en masse and he hates himself and most people.. I can't stand hearing anything he pushed out into this world in 2024.

But when it comes to helping others, nobody can be more giving than the person that risks everything, like the "orange headed man" that Neil so frequently blasts. I have like Neil Young’s music way back from the time he played with Buffalo Springfield. I’m 74 but I don’t idolize anyone, and could care less about their material success. I live by faith in God and His redemption. The Bible is my music, its strings are plucked by the Master.
success is loving whatever it is you do---short of being a murderer and other bad behavior, the total opposite of the soft white under belly upbringing, something i would wish for everyone
clay irwin on bandcamp great music u have 2 hear 4 yourself
Stop thinking, just do.
Correction: happy, relaxed life"
Who's the artist of the painting in the background?
🎯🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎯
?Does Niel young still use his Jawz tractor attachment?
Starts at 1:47 🤔
Neil ain’t never been in a band where he thought he was equal 😅
does Neil smile....?
What he means when he says to the youngsters : " Stay alive ! "
means don't ever sell your SOUL to the mirages of capitalistic prostitution propaganda
your heart knows that his joy is the only measure of succes
Wendy was Peter Pan's friend. She believed in him.
After Neil Young's embarrassing moves via Spotify and Rogan, i have no Respect for him. Like his music, but the guy is a fool.
rogan embarrassed himself by making people eat bugs and worms and denying he abuses steroids and after being confronted he reluctantly had to confess.
@artvallejos1460 that has nothing to do with what I said. But thanks for the random comment
@@brambostic2009
I was responding to you saying Neil embarrassed himself, when actually it's rogan who embarrassed himself
Haircut Neil, Haircut
You don't need to bleep out shit.
Instead of success.. how about the process?
Hello! That is exactly Neils point, be in this moment wholeheartedly, its about the journey and success as a destination is not the thing
was he part of the wayback machine?
Is he back on Spotify?
How can such a knowledgeable, intelligent, "successful", innovative, social warrior become such a corporate sellout as Niel seemingly has become as of late? This man's late public support for tyranny completely erases any positive contributions he has ever made to society in my mind and I cannot unhear the things he has put out there. It just shows the selfishness of famous people who have literally sold their soul for personal gain. I only clicked here in order to give my two cents about niel young
You must have forgotten that Neil does benefit concerts for disabled children, farmers, environmental issues, humanitarian issues etc.........making millions of dollars for those organizations All in the
USA. how bout you?
Wht does Nill ALWAYS look as if he is constipated ?
I have a "Freedom of Speech Tour" T-shirt from CSNY's 2006 tour. I often wore it proudly as my favourite artist stood for what is right ... until ole Neiler pulled his catalogue from Spotify in his sellout efforts to suppress Drs. Malone and McCollough's free speech (and my right to hear what they have to say). Until ole Neiler apologizes for his blatant hypocrisy, I'll never wear any of my Neil Young T-shirts ever again.
Neil certainly jumped the shark. He’s one booster from an obituary
I agree, I've seen Neil play 3 times, been listening to him all my life, but he lost me on his stance with Covid..
NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK
@@rodneypratt4324 That's not true.
@@rodneypratt4324 And you look ridiculous presuming to speak for EVERYONE.
He needs another booster, he is a complete sellout.
Who, a man who’s never allowed his music to be used in commercials ?
who a man the does benefit concerts for disabled children, farmers, environmental issues, humanitarian issues etc............
making millions of dollars for those organizations All in the U S A
@artvallejos1460 that's all fine and great, but he pushed the covid jab like his government telling people that they had to take it ,do you know what I'm talking about or are you asleep 😴 💤 😉 like most of Canada
Neil Old!!!😆
I loved Neil when I was younger, but somewhere along the line he turned from fighting ‘the man’ into being ‘the man’, and forgot everything he once tried to stand for.
I see a constant in his views over the years. Perhaps you’re the one who’s changed.
