Just wanted to say thanks for covering the Pathfinder, it was quite the journey, from early-access, to release, and all the updates/DLC. To this very end. I hope one day we will see another Pathfinder game.
Or... fingers crossed for Starfinder.
That’s nice of you to say man, I forgot he covered it all
Yes!!! 😊😊
I really hope we get another Owlcat Pathfinder game, or even a Starfinder game. The games coming out from other studios look fun but won't scratch that itch.
@@csabas.6342 that would be fucking awesome. we need a starfinder game
The Wrath of the Righteous videos are what got me into Mortismal Gaming as a channel. I appreciate the thorough reviews and commentary without the typical RUclips clickbait and hysterical declarations of love/hate for various properties. It's nice to see this game's final DLC and this means I'll probably finally get back to this game and maybe finish it.
"Most people won't even make it far enough to see this content."
Don't worry bro, with 99% of players getting a bad case of restartitis when completing Act 1, at least they'll get their money's worth trying every new archetype!
You've inadvertently called me out, except in my case it's Act 3 lol
that sounds just like me, I keep on getting more ideas and then restarting
I feel personally attacked
This is me, except I did actually finish the game twice
lmao i've been affected by restartitis 5 times already. Its a dangerous desease
Its always so awesome seeing how much Owlcat keeps working on their games.
I know release can be really frustrating for some people cause their releases are buggy but damn its crazy to see them still putting out updates and content for games that most companies would be long done with.
Unless I missed the mention, this DLC also gave Aivu a voice finally.
Guessing only in the DLC, or have they gone back and added more VA in general the whole game? Been years since last played.
@@jepeman I'm not sure. I saw it in an interview pre-DLC that they hired a VA for AIvu. Why I was hoping Mortismal might have more info in the review.
@@jepeman I seem to remember that they recorded VO for Aivu's introduction, but not for all of her dialogue in the main campaign.
@@jepeman Unfortunately, our beloved Aivu only has her voice in the DLC6......
Camelia and my Flesheater Barbarian are finally going to retire and open that orphanage we always wanted.
Glad to see someone thinking of the children
There's a sentence you don't see every day.
@@PrettyGuardian children and empty bellies are two things which should never go together. Good to see he's taking care of so many orphans.
Such a magnanimous soul
This dropped at the same time as the DLC. Awesome as always
Owlcat are fast becoming one of my favourite developers, currently playing Rogue Trader thanks to you and loving it, It's heartning to see the post release care they still lavish on their games after the Kingmaker disappointment.
Thanks for the cool review.
Kingmaker had plenty of post launch love too. IIRC most of the major bugs were squashed.
And this is me now STARTING my journey with WOTR.
Me too. I got both but haven't played either yet. Been so swamped down in other games I didn't want to start another big one yet so I can give my undivided attention
See you in 200+ hours. Hours well spent.
@@b.benjamineriksson6030 LOL. I gotta play on lower difficulties because I have bad luck with dice RNG.
Thanks for the review! WoTR is one of my favorite CRPG's ever, so this last DLC feels like the closing chapter of a beloved book. I feel like Owlcat learned a lot from WoTR DLCs and that the quality rose substantially as time/releases went on. This makes me hopeful for a) DLC for 40k: Rogue Trader which I also really like and b) future projects from this studio.
Idk if you've been keeping up, but Rogue Trader is getting its first DLC in a couple of months. It's going to be set inside your ship iirc.
After Baldur's Gate 3, I was looking for a new CRPG to lose myself in, and I found your channel. It was because of you that I bought this little gem of a game. Although hard (for me) to get into, I'm using some guides you made, and the journey has been very fun. So, I just wanted to say thank you
Glad I could help!
Don't be afraid to use the custom difficulty and use easier settings. I'm a hard-core gamer and almost always play on the highest difficulty. But my most fun playtrough of wotr was my 3rd with lower difficulty.
Spidercat my beloved
Heya Mortismal. Just wanted to give you a shout out for your channel and all your videos and the effort that went into them. Of all the reviews that I have listened to over the years I have consistently come back to your channel to listen to what you have to say because you take such effort to get to know the subject matter and to explain that in a very easy-to-understand way.
So...cheers!
Hey man! I found your channel with the alpha release for PFRotR and I guess I am still here to this day. Thx for all your content especially the more niche games you cover. I hope owlcat games makes an other one of these beautiful Pathfinder games, so I can enjoy it alongside with you.
The game that let me find this channel, been quite a journey so far and still looking forward to many more years and games.
Thanks for the video. Even if someone doesn't appreciate the title, they can certainly appreciate the work that's gone into it. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
Found your channel through WotR and glad to see you have more content in store for it. As someone who ran the ttrpg version its been fun seeing the small tweaks made here and there. That might be a fun video idea for you. Either looking forward to your last hurrah coverage. Here's hoping for a new title soon.
I am currently playing WotR and JUST finished Iz a few days ago. I will definately enjoy my extra festival before finally knowing how the story will end. Im hyped :D Thanks for the review
Thanks for covering this series and I also can't wait for your story videos! Most of these new archetypes look very interesting, other than Kinetic Sharpshooter, I would consider Magic Deceiver. At least for lore/flavor alone. It looks like a nice sendoff, but for me it will be a while before I will get there myself.
lol, just remembered that I forgot to finish the game. Guess it will be time to start it again.
What a journey. I can't wait to get time to play this
I found ur channel thru this game, never did finish it tho, got to act 5 and did a bunch of the dungeon runs, might still go back
But I glad the game brought me to ur channel it's been a blast
I originally watched your review (along with a few others) on this game and I knew I'd enjoy it. But I also had never played a pathfinder title before and I took the difficulty warnings seriously. So I swallowed my pride and jumped into the game on a really easy custom difficultly. I ended up having a total blast with it like that the whole way through. Even finished it too! Might check out this DLC as I know I have a save for it.
I know for me that I don’t have the “finish the game” achievement on Steam because I play with mods. I know there’s a workaround, but that might be skewing the numbers a bit. Regardless, super excited to try out this DLC! Thanks Mort!
I'm excited for more Pathfinder videos from you. I'm excited to play this game. It's on my radar for 2025 lol.
This came out at just the right time in my playthrough as I'd just reached Iz. Really enjoyed it, especially Aivu's voice acting.
You should totally do a final review of the game, including all the dlcs and stuff! Might be really helpful for people that are still a little hesitant on trying this behemoth of a game.
Awesome, hyped as I just finished Act 1 today. I've got some time left, but now have something to look forward to.
thanks for the review! I know the dlc just came out but there were no review articles that I could find on the internet and steam reviews are just jokey one liners so this is the best review on the market. Thanks for taking the time!
I think I'll get it but on sale. so far this seems to be the only dlc worth getting besides the last sarkonian and that companion doesn't interest me so this will be it for me
I am glad they added content for Devil, but now I feel bad that Gold Dragon is the neglected child.
Looking forward to your latest playthru with all the dlc's Mort, about to start mine today as well with the new Titan Fighter...totaly jacked for this one!
Trying to decide what he's going to be and what mythic path will best suit him?? Decisions decisions haha...
criminally underated game
Honestly I loved this DLC conceptly. I'm happy to support owlcat, and hope they continue in the pathfinder world.
Now he has truly 100% WOTR! Thanks for all of the coverage! The final dlc just sounds like a good time. I’m excited to begin my second playthrough
I just finished the DLC with my Demon Character who's in a relationship with Camellia and I had a blast. Before getting the Quest I was just finishing the Treasures of the Midnight Isles which is way too much grind for my taste. This was so much more fun. I think it's my favorite DLC for this game so far.
Awesome work as always
I was eyeing the DLC on steam
And I’m so glad for your feedback on it!
Plus I forgot about this game due to my hyper fixation on Bg3 😂😂😂
Morsh: "I have a small reason for replaying my favorite game...." happy squeals on the background
The actual completion rate might be a bit higher, because using mods (at least for me) seems to turn off achievments. Love this game but it has one major flaw, well not actually because of the game itself but rather the pathfinder system, and that is it takes forever to apply all your buffing spells once your party starts to gain a few levels. So personally i use a mod just for buffing, otherwise it feels like you need to take a break from playing every now and then just because applying buff gets really tedious (and you need to if you want to play on higher difficulties).
I need to buy the 2nd season pass and then start up my first playthrough. Looks like a great game.
This is great finally gonna pick this game up and all the dlc!
ive been holding off on playing so i can play when its mostly bug free and all the dlc is out im looking forward to this
Could you do a video on which of the available Adventure Paths could be chosen for a potential next Pathfinder game?
Definitely gonna start over and do a full playthrough
It looks so fun. Seems like a lot of work but rewarding
With WoTR and BG3 fully released will you be doing a “story of” series on these two titles? Long time fan enjoy your work greatly
Idk about BG3, like I definitely could do it, but with how wildly popular it was Im not sure its really necessary yet
I look forward to the story series for this game
Thank you!😊
было бы нереально круто узнать про сюжет.
я смотрел у других игровых блогеров, но там эта тема как мне кажется не до конца раскрыта.
с удовольствием посмотрю про сюжет Pathinder: WOTR.
will have to wait for this and a few of the dlc to be on sale, got too many games to finish atm aswell as having played through main campaign twice already I would most likely only play through one last time. Just wish the dlc had been out for previous playthroughs so could see romance content-Queen galfrey and wendueg/all the demons.
and now i have to play this from the beginning again
Man I wish i could get into Pathfinder
Steep learning curve for sure bro
But it’s worth it
Start with BG 3 if you are new to the genre. It will really help you get comfortable with the mechanics to just focus on the amazing story/gameplay
@@4everhumbl36Facts. I came from BG3 and it was tough at first but now I think I like it even more than BG3. The complexity ends up being its greatest strength in my opinion.
If you want to try again and want help with builds or understanding mechanics the community has been pretty good about helping people.
I'm all for it, I believe that this game is 12 USD, I def will be buying this DLC!
Loved the game until I got to the strategy crusade mode. Turned the game off at that point and never returned. Maybe a full walkthrough watching Mort would rekindle the desire to play.
You can automate it and ignore it
@@fruitloops1481 I did look into that some time ago but from what I remember it appeared you miss out on a lot of necessary equipment and other stuff if you do that. However I will go take another look into it. Thanks for the suggestion because I would really like to continue playing the game.
You might also want to do some content around few of the rarest achievements, as info on those is hard to find online.
Steam has 100% guides compiled from the community, they're rare more for the time investment required than anything else.
I need to get back into this game for another play through haha
time for my final playthrough!
$12 pricing, they know their audience. Love to see it.
Finally, something for Act V.
Love the videos
Let the masquerade begin!
I’m gonna do a dhampir bladebound magus run. Should be a blast!
Nice, thinking of doing the same, probably going into trickster. Magus trickster is actually a hella synergistic way to play.
I just have one question: Does Aivu get voice acting for the whole game or just the dlc section?
Just the dlc
She gets voice In her introduction in act 3 as well
@@justtmwok, that’s really funny cause I literally just finished Drezen in my current play through and the dlc dropped like 10 minutes after I was finished, so I probably missed the little bit of voice acting she has in the main game😂
Story of series for Pathfinder & Baldur's gate 3!!! will watch
I just put in this video's 1000th like. *throws confetti*
I finished the game but I'm thinking of starting again to do all the DLCs
I can finally start playing the game
Hey Morty, have you played the other games in the Expeditions series? I'm curious to know since you liked E.Rome so much, and I'm currently having a blast with E. Conquistador. It has such a well writen story, and I love the way it deals with loss. As it organicaly adapts the story to it, instead of just making you repeat the battles. Love to have your opinion on them.
I would like a rereview. I was thinking of playing this game, so get your opinion on its actual state would be lovely
I think it's finally time for me to do a another playthrough
Dude, you had me at dual-wield 2-handed weapons. No need go keep selling it xD
Good day :D
I wonder if they did some interactions for lich-only companions and my man Zacharius
Great time to be a CRPG fan.
Serendipitously, the noted 'actual play' podcast Naddpod [don't sing yet] just did did a 2-shot Pathfinder 2e* module.
*- I think it is 2e remastered, but don't @me
There is a 2e Pathfinder video game on Kickstarter I believe it's being made by people who did the NWN campaign module Darkness over Daggerford I think is the name never played it myself but from what I've heard it's one of the best ones for it. I think it got automatically included in the Beamdog EE port but don't know for sure.
@@CrazyxEnigma It seems to be called 'Pathfinder: The Dragon's Demand'. A quick search didn't glean much detail, but it seems to be an updated PF1e module being developed as a turn based CRPG, and has been under production for a number of years. I'm getting vibes of the more recent Shadowrun games.
I’ll beat this game eventually.
The Citadel was such a great DLC, sometimes you just need that final party.
Gonna have to restart and either gonna make the new magnus class devil or finally try a gold dragon playthrough
So I'm thinking one level dip into titan fighter for a spell caster to dual wield quater staffs for those bonus that they give.
"you can have a save file in the end game to enjoy the DLC"
Oh yeah, that would save a lot of time
(Opening character creation, knowing full well that my sleep schedule will suffer for the next few weeks)
I completed the main game and others dlc so this could be for me.. so.. I ask how long is it?
hoping Owlcat would come back to Pathfinder games they're really masters in their own game.
I never request videos from you, but I could really use another Kineticist guide but for the Sharpshooter. I've beaten the game twice on Core with a Kineticist (Elemental Engine is hands down my favorite class) so it isn't like I don't understand the overall class. But I just don't get the Sharpshooter. No Extended Blasts means no big AOE infusions (Deadly Earth, Wall, etc), and the burn costs for the late game abilities seem ridiculous. Like Chain Arrows is 6 burn!?! I think when I hard focused CON and was level 20 I never had more than 18 burn available. I just don't see the upside to the subclass except for flavor. Would probably just play Eldritch Archer if I wanted an elemental bow user. Or I could be way off. Who knows. :)
You charge up before combat instead of during, so there is no gather power action necessary. It's extreme burst that falls off a bit after you use your pre charged shots.
I mean, I bought the season pass way back when. So, I got it by default. That said, I have only ever beat the game once. I've had many attempted playthroughs, but its such a long game. I still think the Treasure of the Midnight Isles was the best dlc.
On to Rogue Trader!
Omg already?
Ah another dlc and another game I want to beat. I played it on release but man that spinning puzzle demon city broke me and my interest. Hoping I can have a better mindset to handle it now lol
Ah just checked and i already own it, must have come with seasons pass. I should really start to think about giving this game more of my attention. Never got very far.
I think I have this as part of the Season Pass. I need to check.
Yes, it is part of the Season 2 Pass
@@xensan76 Excellent, thanks.
I wonder if Nocticula romance somehow additionally highlighted in this DLC
I've always wanted to play Owlcats Pathfinder games but I've always heard they're super hard, and I'm just not into high difficulty anymore at my age. Wonder if there's an easy mode patch.
Difficulty is very granular and has an easy difficulty if you don't want to futz with settings, no shame in that if you just want to experience the story and characters.
There is an easy mode and you can automate the kingdom or crusade gameplay to reduce the difficulty too
The game can be made into a cakewalk, I think what you heard people expressing was not difficult in terms of game difficulty, and more likely the learning curve of the mechanics. It's based entirely on 1e, almost a 1-1 transliteration into digital play, which may be a bit intimidating at first glance coming from other RPGs, if you've no experience with the system. If you do, though, you could basically play this anywhere between a walking simulator, and a game to make Souls-like players cry.
Can you talk about how to play this game, I got the base game few months ago, do I finish the base game and get the dlc in order of it coming out? Does the dlc make you super op that it breaks the game? I've been meaning to play this game.
Theres no perfect answer to your question. Last Sarkorians, Treasure of the Midnight Isles, & this one directly add content to the main story. The other 3 are stand alone but convey benefits to your future and current main game save files for completing them.
Hey mate, I picked up the DLC and decided to start a new game after not touching WotR for like three years! In starting it up, I realized I have no idea how to play a Kinetic Sharpshooter. Any chance you’ll be doing a guide/walkthrough on how the new archetypes work? I feel like a bit of an idiot just starting out here, so would love your insights.
I have videos about how to play Kineticist in general which should help, but I dont plan on breaking each one down in full no. Slandered Gaming has a video like that up though, might try that.
@@MortismalGaming thanks for responding! I’ll I’ll check out your previous stuff as well as Slandered Gamings stuff. I’m just looking to have fun with a shooty shooty kinetic dude :) Keep up the great work.
I Never played pathfinder. It was on my pile of shame xD but now I am hyped. Should I have both season pass or nothing or just the second one? Some tell that season pass 1 is Buggy?
I know I'm late to the show, but is there any chance that you would make an unfair guide? I'm trying desperately to beat it and I can barely make it out of the shield maze and have no idea how I could possibly make it through the rest of the game. If you can/would it would be greatly appreciated but I understand if not. Thanks for all the amazing content!
Honestly the shield maze is the hardest part imo because you have very few options besides just save scumming your way into the rolls you need. Once you get out of there you can hit up vendors for scrolls etc to mitigate fights and expand your options. The problem with making a guide for Unfair is that it inherently requires an intimate understanding of the ruleset and how the game uses the ruleset and how events/consequences play out.
@@MortismalGaming ok thanks for the input and reply (sincerity not sarcasm). I keep running into walls every time I think I’ve got it figured out and it’s frustrating. I figured you would be one of the best sources to ask since you 100% the game. I can’t even imagine doing the sadistic achievement. You are amazing and inspiring
Now I can finally buy the game
I just got the pathfinder game due to the steam sale and i wanted to ask what dlcs shall i avaid and what do you gius recommend me on getting ?
Thanks for reading :)
I put out a video about all the DLC just a couple days ago, can get my extended thoughts there
Thing is my next playthrough is lich. And..... I gonna miss the romance part of this dlc 😅
Edit: Found a thread on Steam, so to answer myself and hopefully help others.
Out of curiosity reinstalled to see my old saves and hoping someone can answer if I can do the DLC with my old saves:
-Save on the world map, just before entering the Treshold, can I just travel back to city or throne room and do the DLC? Edit: Yes!
-Save much further back, at the very 'hot place', before hopping on a boat ride, Im pretty sure can do the DLC using that one, but would have to replay quite a bit? Edit: Yes, but replay a lot further.
-Save right before final fight and save for importing, guessing no option to use a save to magically roll back to do the DLC? Edit: Can cheat start with Toybox mod on before final fight save.
Edit: Basically this DLC is in Act 5, available after completing Iz location and before entering Treshold.
Always wanted to play this but I never got used to the weird camera/how you move it. If only there was a mod to make the camera/mouse behave like BG3
Hope I get some dancing skeletons as a necromancer
👏👏👏
