After much research, I've decided that this should be my next laptop. It seems to be far better value than the Lenovo line. It is also hard to find a 17 inch screen laptop that is business oriented, not designed for gaming or media.
Did you buy it? The company I work for gave this to me as a replacement of my old laptop (Lenovo thinkpad 420... old, I know). But j noticed that this take time to boot up. And opening apps take time, and I often see the “not responding” message on outlook and other office apps. But this is all based in comparison to my old laptop. Aesthetics-wise, this is a nice laptop
You were correct ,hard to come by videos for a HP Probook 450 G5.No doubt not a fancy video but Great effort. Thank you for making this video and sharing it.
According to Dell's website, the 5590 (and probably the 5580) has a carbon fiber body underneath that soft-touch material, which is more premium than aluminum. It should make it lighter weight with as much or better durability, so I don't know what's making the Dell heavier. The trackpoint and the second set of mouse buttons are for the ThinkPad users who've gotten used to it. I don't like it, but some people won't buy a business laptop without that trackpoint. Generally ThinkPads are the most dated or traditional looking, HP is usually the most forward thinking in terms of aesthetics, and Dell is somewhere in the middle. I review old laptops on my channel and for example I noticed that the HPs were the first to use chiclet/island style keyboards among these 3 major PC makers. On the other hand, Dell usually has the best displays among the three. All Latitude's 1080p screens have been IPS as long as I can remember whereas IPS is not standard for 1080p Lenovo ThinkPad and HP ProBook/Elitebook screens, at least in the past. Sometimes IPS was not even an option.
thanks for the video... I have been thinking of buying a new one....although in general my acer laptop lasted way longer than my HP laptop..... I have one question... what did you mean with the usb ports? there are none... or why didn't you like it? thanks
Hi. Have you tried running the LatencyMon on the G5? I´d really like to know if it is suitable for real time processing. Can´t seem to find anyone having done that.
If you see this, please answer, because I want to buy this laptop while it's still on sale in my country. I've got two questions: How is the audio? does it have a nice sound when playing music? Also, I just read it only has 45% sRGB, which, when I google it, people say is terrible. Have you noticed anything wrong with the colors when watching videos/looking at pictures? Thank you in advance!
The audio is fine to me, the speakers are above the keyboard and are more than adequate for laptop speakers in my opinion. Haven't noticed any distortion or crackling. I do not do any photo work or anything like that, but I no complaints about the quality of the display or colors. I've watched many movies on the laptop and looking at pictures I see nothing that does not look as it should.
Hey thanks so much for the review, I am almost to convinced buying this laptop to replace my desktop pc. Can you tell anything about the battery life? How many hours does it last when you do browsing und standard stuff?
Thanks for the review. Just got mine this week (i7-8550U (1.8GHz, 8MB Cache, 4 cores) and 2GB Discrete NVIDIA Graphics - 1LU52AV). I upgraded 16 GB ram and the 512 GB SSD as well. Did you notice yours got a bit hot if using it on your lap? Just doing some basic excel work and internet browsing on chrome, it got a bit hot on my lap. Also I have a docking staying that connects with a normal USB. Would you suggest using the USB port on the left side (I believe that's just a USB 2.0) or one of the USB 3.0 ports on the right side for best performance?
I have the same problem (i7 8550U, 8GB RAM), the notebook gets hot when it's on my lap, usually when I watch movies in HD or HD RUclips videos which take a lot of RAM - I think it's also because the air can't flow properly under the notebook when placed on the lap. I will buy a notebook stand or some kind of bed table that is used for serving breakfast to bed and place it on it. The USB - depends on how many devices you need to connect. I use a flash disk, two external HDDs, phone and sometimes a wireless mouse and external DVD drive. I bought 2 USB hubs - USB 2.0 to 4x USB 2.0 and USB-C to 4x USB 3.0, it works great. I had a problem that one of the HDDs (Western Digital 2TB) won't connect to any of the ports (which may be the problem of the HDD USB cable, not the notebook), but it works fine with the USB-C hub. Not sure where to connect the docking staying, but I would choose the 3.0 on the right side. (Update: the HDD won't connect because there was a problem with the USB cable, I bought a new one and it works now.)
Thanks for the video. Question - has everyone who has purchased one of these seen it come with the aluminum chassis? The specs on HP's site list "natural silver plastic" as one of the bullet points. It doesn't say specifically what it's referring to but I assume the chassis, and when I asked my rep about it this is what he told me: "HP’s new Probooks and Elitebooks aren’t encased in metal but they feature metal accents." This is a concern b/c I previously purchased Dell Latitudes b/c of their better, more durable materials. However I purchased a 3000 series vs. a 5000 series recently, and it came in the same cheapy plastic chassis that a $250 Asus has (literally bends and give with any pressure). I can't find any local retailers that carry the G5 to be able to check it out for myself before buying. Any feedback from others would be appreciated.
The bottom and back (display) are plastic. The area around the keyboard is aluminum. Despite the plastic, is does not feel cheap or flimsy in my opinion.
Everything is plastic, except the part around the keyboard, which is metal, I wouldn't say it's aluminum, I think it's much more durable type of metal - it's similar to the material used in some older HP notebooks (I had HP Probook 4730s and I think the material around the keyboard was the same). I don't like that the sides (USB ports) are plastic, I think it could be made from metal as well. I tried another model at the shop, HP Probook 450 G4 and compared to 450 G5 it felt very cheap (chassis, type of plastic, keyboard).
Thank you for the nice review. I'm just looking for a new laptop and G5 is the top candidate. Do you know if the fingerprint reader and webcam support Windows Hello? Also the fingerprint reader looks like that you must swipe over it, right?
I am not certain if the fingerprint reader & webcam support Windows Hello. I do know that with domain-joined PC's these sign-in options are disabled and need to be enabled through group policy either on that individual PC or through your domain controller's group policy if you have one. Personally I prefer PIN sign on so that is what I use, but I can verify the fingerprint reader you must swipe your finger over it.
I am a Design student and I am looking for a laptop to buy which supports softwares like Illustrator and Corel. I was wondering if this laptop would be a good choice or not
I get with this specs: 1TB HDD, 250GB SSD, 12GB RAM, i5 8gen CPU, 1080p display ips. It's not perfect laptop, but it's good for the money. On the top of the lid has significan flex. Oldest models are most strenght and durable. This one doesn't feel cheap, but the plastic and construction are mid level in my opinion.
Aside from the screen issue does anyone know if Photoshop runs OK? I can plug in a monitor. I'm actually looking at buying the HP ProBook 450 G5 i7 15.6" FHD Laptop with 512GB SDD model.
You got a great deal! I just priced a customized 450 G5 with same specs as you except with a 8th gen i5 for $875 plus tax. The 8th i7 option was a unbelievable $450 extra!
I have a question about the material. The part around the keyboard is made of metal. But the silver parts (front display cover with hp logo) and the cover of the bottom (ventilation cover) is made of plastic or metal (aluminum)? Thanks.
For serious video editing I would not recommend it because it's not geared towards that; the CPU and GPU aren't the fastest. It could definitely do it though, just don't expect fast render or export times. Make sure to choose the model with the dedicated video card if you go this route.
They are lighter than a comparable Dell Latitude 5580 and thinner as well so I find them easy to manage and carry around. They also have a 14" and 13" model which are even smaller and more portable, they just don't have the number pad and have 1 less USB port.
That is one gripe about this laptop that I do have - I'm not a fan of the half height up/down keys. I am used to them now, but I still don't like them . It is easy to hit the wrong key or miss the key entirely.
I bought the 470 G5 but took it back, because the front edge was very sharp and cut into my skin. Even after a couple minutes of use it left a visible line on my skin, which is an issue for me because I plan to use this laptop for work many hours a day. It is a pity because otherwise it is a great laptop: fast, nice screen, loud. Also I do not understand why it does not come with backlit keyboard like the 450 G5 (in Hungary).
Seems like the models outside the US often do not come with backlit keyboards for some reason. I can't speak to the sharp edges you speak of though, I think the edges are fine.
Hi, I work 10 hour days and am trying to purchase a laptop that will not die within a year. Do you recommend this one? Also, should laptops remain plugged in-fully charged, or should I only charge when battery is near 0? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.
I can't exactly speak to that cause I haven't had mine a year, but I work 9 hour days and have it plugged in the whole time and my battery still performs very well. I think as long as you have a relatively even use of battery and AC power your battery will last fine. The first couple charges you should take it all the way down to 0 or close to it though.
Hello, are you still happy with this computer ? I'll probably buy the same (15.6", 8Go RAM, i5) and add an SSD. I was wondering about its durability especially. Thanks
! hey casey im about to buy right now this model the same i only want to know about heat temperatue my need is only movies and music web surfing does he quite and not heat ? thank you and injoy
Hi all, I have a question about the battery notification in W10 on this model. Mine doesn't show the time remaining on battery, although the older models 450 G4 and 430 G4 show this information (with the same OS version). It only shows the percentage, and I installed all the relevant drivers and BIOS from HP, checked the BIOS settings, updated Windows and even reformatted with an older OS version - 1703 (i am currently on 1709). Are you experiencing something similar?
I already contacted HP support about this issue, and it seems they are not aware of it. I tested it also on 3 other G5 notebooks (we purchased 20), and neither shows the time remaining. I would be good for more people to contact HP support with the same problem, so they release a patch sooner that later (if at all).
hey i have a question i have the i5 8th gen version and the fingerprint sensor doesn't work it says windows hello isn't compatible with this device and i also have the driver for it can you suggest something that i can do to make it work?
You may have to enable the finger print sensor in local group policy on the computer. If that doesn't work, I would contact HP support, they're pretty helpful.
Hey, i have one question does your screen lid at bottom make poping plastic sound when closing the lid but only when clossing i think this latop have poor plastic case
Hi! Could you by any chance identify display model? 470G4 had AUO219D panels. If you could identify it with www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm ? Thx
Can you please tell me the exact model number of the LCD. You can use free utilities like HWinfo or Monitor Asset Manager to get the model number. It's very easy. Thank you.
Thank you. I watch a lot of movies on my laptop. Plus, I use it at work and at home. I look at that screen too many hours every single day. That's why the LCD quality is very important for me. This LCD screen is listed on HP's website as 220 nits. People consider anything below 250 nits as dim, or maybe not dim but also not bright enough. My 5 year old laptop lcd has 265 nits. This LCD quality is the only thing that holds me from a purchase. This laptop is like %90 match for what I am looking for. I would appreciate any further feedback about the screen, maybe it be the brightness or the color quality.
Hi, I ordered the 450 g5 because most elitebooks came with shitty tn displays, even tough very expensive. In device manager the display is identified as cmn15d3, suggesting chi mei innolux panel. This panel is reviewed in acer and hp omen models. As could be suspected from the hp specificaton the display is dim at 220 nits and lacks vivid colors. Reviews of 470 model suggested it used an lg panel that had 400 nits it was a bit dissapointing that the 450 model did not. My display has some clouding in the bottom. The contrast seems fine and in works very well for office work in a dark environment. I hope the dim display will work indoors also in the summer. I still think the ips fhd swva display is better than the tn fhd sva display used in 840 g4 elite book. The 512gb nvme ssd is the fast samsung pm961 model. I still ponder if would have been worth to get zbook or elite 1040 just for the better displays. However, for the price difference one can get a very good external display. Would be interesting to see if all 450 g5 ips fhd uwva displays are cmn15d3 or if other displays are also used for this modell.
I have to give an update, its not that dim. I think the luminecense will be enough for indoor use all year round. I compared it to my stationary monitor that i use (270nits max) and max brightness on the 450 probook was simmilar. I would say that the screen is quite good but not great. It would have been nice to have some head room but at max brightness it is ok for me.
Thanks for the information, much appreciated. The 470 is using the same screen as 450, so that upgrade will not help. Other upgrade options you mentioned takes the price way too high for me. I decided to pass on this one. I will get a smaller laptop with almost the same config and an external monitor. It's the first time I seriously considered getting an HP and most likely the last one. Thanks for the help.
I bought this laptop today and mine keyboard is a little different, the Enter key is not this shape, it has that classic shape that all older laptops/keyboards have. I was pleasantly surprised because I like this type of Enter more. I have this version: Intel Core i7 8550U, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Win 10 Home. I bought it in EU.
Hi, what do you mean by coil whine? If the HDD makes noise? A little bit, nothing too noisy. The fan is really quiet. I had HP ProBook 4730s before and it was a lot more noisy than this laptop, especially the fan. Graphics - I have NVIDIA GeForce 930MX and Intel UHD Graphics 620.
I watched the video. I'm not an computer expert but you're supposed to hear the coil whine when you play video or play a PC game and it's caused by graphic card? I thought this noise was common only on older laptops back in the day LOL. When I play the video, I can't hear this noise. I hear only a fan a little bit. Hope that helps.
But I must say that sometimes when I turn on the laptop and the Windows starts I hear some noise that is kind of similar to this noise but I don't know what makes it - HDD, graphics card or something else. But I don't hear it all the time, can't hear it when playing the video.
bought this laptop myself a few days ago. Its got a great keyboard, large glass touchpad with microsoft precision drivers. 1080p 15 inch display which IMO is the minimum display size to make text easily readable with 1080p resolution, it has decent battery life, great processor, quiet i guess too. All of these are great aspects of a good programmer laptop. However the disadvantage of this laptop is the 1 year warranty, which means that perhaps this laptop is not the most reliable workstation with time. Also it has this annoying coil noise evern though the laptop is idle, its VERY noticable and annoying to have...I might return this laptop because of this.
Hi, unfortunately it looks that your laptop has not keyboard backlight function. On the offical website (www8.hp.com/us/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=17047142#!tab=specs ) we can see, that backlight is optional function in this laptop. To be sure please check whether exists option to backlight control in BIOS.
My company has purchased over 60 HP ProBook 450 G5's in the i5 8250U, 8GB RAM, 1920x1080 display, 256GB NVMe SSD through CDW. Before the discount CDW provides us (because we spend a sh*t ton of money with them), the HP is $822. An identically spec'd L580 is $1,081. HP also offers a touchscreen model spec'd the same as mentioned (except resolution is lower) above for $863. I am still using the laptop shown in the video and have no complaints. So I would not recommend the L580 over the HP.
depends on your use Thinkpads are more durable than HP. Specially when it comes to the keyboard. If you are comparing the hardware HP provide fair amount of hardware for the price. But thinkpads are tough build even the E580 and E570 has decent build quality. For me it's L580. But thats for me.
What kind of m.2 ssd dose it support? in the back when you optn it to install SSD, it is written B but the socket look like M. I want to buy M.2 SSD for my version HP ProBook 450 G5 (2RS08EA) because it coms with a slow HDD 5400rpm. Can any one help.
Also must be 2280 size format. Please note that the PCI interface on the 450G5 motherboard side is only Gen3 x 2 (i.e. it uses 2 lanes) so if you install a M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen3 x 4 (the most common type of M.2 PCIe SSD today) you won't be able to get the full throughput for your 4 lanes capable disk (like the samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD for example)
Are you sure about these information? I couldn't find any info about that in the official site of HP, they didn't give me an answer. I have ordered the samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD 250, so now i have to cancel it? If you have any official info about this issue please share it with us.
yes it is like he said. You can find a youtube video where a 960 EVO in being installed and in the comments is pointed out the error ruclips.net/video/BGP2rML1BS4/видео.html
@Ahmed Ahsan I don't remember well, but the G5 uses only 2 lanes out of 4 so it will bottleneck. It's compatible, just won't use all the 3000 mb/s read/write speed (no SSD can with the G5) but will cap at ~1600
To the best of my knowledge, you do not have an option to change the keyboard backlight timer duration. It usually turns off when not in use after a preset duration and turns ON when you touch any key on the keyboard.
Hi.. is there any light indicator on the Capslock button ? to notify if the capslock on or off before we type (think its crucial if the windows start with password).
What kind of NVMe?? there is no name o r SKU,,, you can read in control panel, list of SSD NVMe current in the market: samsung PM981(the best one only in Lenovo yoga 700, Samsung P961(Xiao MI Notebook pro) Toshiba XG5.... Intel 600p the worst on the market.. soon replaced with 760p(PM961 level) or 660P
It has a PCIe 3 x2 (NOT x4!) so don't waste your money on nvme ssds with pcie x4 capability.. I did this mistake and bought a samsung 960 EVO, I "only" get 1800mb read/1700 write speeds.
+Weblider thanks for useful info about this, I'm very disappointed with notebook producers for lack of technical details in SSD support, also I'm disppointed with reviewers with lack on information from panel control is easy find SKU of SSD... 256GB SSD M.2 means nothing there is SSD M.2 SATA max r:500MB/s SSD M.2 PCIe 2x max r:1800MB/s SSD M.2 PCIe 4x max r:3400MB/s and inside SSD M.2 PCIe 4X there is a huge range of speed Intel 600p & Adata ASX7000 w: under 1000MB/s (note ASX6000 is PCIe 2x) Intel 760p & Samsung PM961 r:3200MB/s w: 1600MB/s Toshiba X5G(OEM only) r:2800MB/s w:2100MB/s but lower IOPS
+Weblider I think you have done the right choise buying less expansive version of HP 450 G5 with 500GB HDD and adding yourself a SSD 960 EVO but nobody advice you about laptop have no support for PCIe 4Xvery difficult to find this info before buying :(
i have bought ProBook 450 G5(2RS08EA) a week ago. There is a fan noise even if you just watch youtube. in this version i guess there is no keyboard LED. Poor plastic finish.
My 450 g5 does not have backlit keyboard. It is generally very quiet but there is a bug that quite often causes high cpu load in system process, 20%. The bug seems related to the audio driver since the problem is not present if the audio card is disabled. Unfortunately the problem has not been solved by hp and I dont know if it will be. The problem is common and hp is aware of it. Currently, about 11 pages about it on hp forum. I hope it gets solved as it is annoying and apart from this i like the computer alot. Scan for hardware changes in device manager will reset the driver and normal cpu usage for a while.
@@hishamtlep6502 Update, my issues with cpu power managment and high cpu load from system process, apparently quite common issue, was fixed after latest firmware/bios release as of feb 2019. I am now happy with the laptop. It is now quiet and has much better battery life. Note of caution is that this model comes configured with many different types of hardware and thus reviews of one modell may not reflect other configurations. I recommend to test latest bios/firmware if cpu load and clock is high at idle.
After much research, I've decided that this should be my next laptop. It seems to be far better value than the Lenovo line. It is also hard to find a 17 inch screen laptop that is business oriented, not designed for gaming or media.

Sounds like you did not get a model with an SSD drive.

Very little flex. I personally love the keyboard on it. Very good feel and responsiveness.
Hp is the win
Hi! How do you enable the ilumination in te keyboard in the HP? Thanks so much
please do u know how to turn on the backligh in this laptop i tried everything and its new but i couldnt figure out how?
Hi. Have you tried running the LatencyMon on the G5? I´d really like to know if it is suitable for real time processing. Can´t seem to find anyone having done that.
Hello, Casey! How does it work now after some more time? Does the laptop have troubles with overheating? I’ve read that HP models often have them.
Have been using it for over a year. No issues whatsoever.
Is it worth buying it in 2024? pls anyone reply.

Oldest models are most strenght and durable. This one doesn't feel cheap, but the plastic and construction are mid level in my opinion.
My schools bookstore sells these for $630 some dollars, I just want to know if its worth it before I order it.
If it has an SSD drive yes it is worth it, these are great laptops.
Is that good for gaming?
I'm cosidering buying this laptop, but the sceen visual display seems not good enough. Can uou tell me a little more about the screen ?
The screen is very crisp with great viewing angles, I have no complaints about the screen.
I want to use this laptop for photoshop. Have you tried Adobe Apps on this device so far? And is the screen good enough?
iclone the screen is not suitable for Photoshop as it's only 45% RGB so the colours may not be accurate as you expected.
Thank you. Maybe an Asus Zenbook will do a god job
Thanks.
The silver parts are plastic.
Excuse me, is it good for videos production and editing?
For serious video editing I would not recommend it because it's not geared towards that; the CPU and GPU aren't the fastest. It could definitely do it though, just don't expect fast render or export times. Make sure to choose the model with the dedicated video card if you go this route.
HI, my girlfriend is looking to buy the HP probook, how do you find it in terms of weight and manageability?
They are lighter than a comparable Dell Latitude 5580 and thinner as well so I find them easy to manage and carry around. They also have a 14" and 13" model which are even smaller and more portable, they just don't have the number pad and have 1 less USB port.
is charge indicator light automatically turned off when it reaches 100%???
let me know
Yes it is.
Graphic is already integrated in this model ? If integrated then how much memory it has ?
This particular model has integrated and dedicated NVIDIA 920 graphics 2GB
Sir please tell me how to turn on keyboards light in hp probook 450 g5
Yours probably doesn't have a back lit keyboard, most G5 models don't.
what do you think about the half height up and down arrows? is it easy to press the wrong one?
That is one gripe about this laptop that I do have - I'm not a fan of the half height up/down keys. I am used to them now, but I still don't like them . It is easy to hit the wrong key or miss the key entirely.
I think you'll get used to using them. It's strange but isn't a big problem.
I can't speak to the sharp edges you speak of though, I think the edges are fine.
good review i wanted to buy that laptop but now im want to buy him even more u deserve a like!
Thank you I appreciate that!
Hey one question. I am a college student and thinking of a relatively light laptop but is it light enough to be portable? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply. This is definitely light enough to be portable. They also have 13" and 14" versions.
Thanks
Yes I am happy with this computer and am still using it today. No issues at all.

Never had any issues with heat.

hi .can u tell me how to illuminate the keyboard
Hi all, I have a question about the battery notification in W10 on this model. Mine doesn't show the time remaining on battery, although the older models 450 G4 and 430 G4 show this information (with the same OS version). It only shows the percentage, and I installed all the relevant drivers and BIOS from HP, checked the BIOS settings, updated Windows and even reformatted with an older OS version - 1703 (i am currently on 1709). Are you experiencing something similar?
Hi, I see only percentage, not the remaining time.
@@koollerkidd Thank you I'll try it out

How is display quality? TN or IPS?
Display quality is great and fantastic viewing angles, it is IPS.
Hi! Could you by any chance identify display model? 470G4 had AUO219D panels. If you could identify it with www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm
?
N156HCE-EAA
Thanks for the help.
why would u care for usb ports on the back
Does it has any fan noise on normal use? Really want to know guys, can someone help?
No fan noise under normal use.
Why would they put the ports on the right where your mouse would go? That seems like a terrible design flaw.
Same thoughts. Very very terrible design.
But this doesn't contain cd player. Whats an alternative for it?, how to play cd?
Hoping for a quick reply
External USB drives are available.

Does i5 8250U 256gb ssd mx930 version have suport for additional hard drive?
Have to say nice vidro, youndeserve a subscribe:D
Yes.
Congrats on the purchase glad you're enjoying it!
Thank you, your video really helped me :)
But I don't hear it all the time, can't hear it when playing the video.
how can you activate backlit
How long does the battery last ? (surfing with Wi-fi)
I haven't drained it all the way yet but I would say it will easily get 5 hours of consistent use time.
Is it good for programming?
Couldn't tell you from personal experience as I don't do any programming but I don't see why not!
bought this laptop myself a few days ago. Also it has this annoying coil noise evern though the laptop is idle, its VERY noticable and annoying to have...I might return this laptop because of this.
hey, i just got this laptop, but how can i turn on the keyboard lights ?? gr

Hi,
unfortunately it looks that your laptop has not keyboard backlight function. On the offical website (www8.hp.com/us/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=17047142#!tab=specs ) we can see, that backlight is optional function in this laptop. To be sure please check whether exists option to backlight control in BIOS.
Hi, what generation is??

How do you turn on the backlight on the keyboard
Facing the same problem tbh. 1 hour exploring the laptop and still didn't figure it put
Not all of them have backlit keyboards it seems, make sure the specs specify that it is backlight capable.
Can you easiliy remove the baterry ?
freusin No.
Would anyone recommend getting this over the Lenovo L580? - Thanks from Germany :)

Hard Drive
Interface : PCIe
Hard Drive Features : NVM Express (NVMe)
Type : SSD
SSD Form Factor : M.2 2280
You can find a youtube video where a 960 EVO in being installed and in the comments is pointed out the error
ruclips.net/video/BGP2rML1BS4/видео.html
@Ahmed Ahsan I don't remember well, but the G5 uses only 2 lanes out of 4 so it will bottleneck.
It's compatible, just won't use all the 3000 mb/s read/write speed (no SSD can with the G5) but will cap at ~1600
how to enable keyboard back light?
The backlight is enabled by default. If yours is not, yours does not have a backlit keyboard.

how do you turn on your keyboard backlit?

I've had great experience using CDW for these laptops. They also have 13", 14", and 17" variations of this model.
I got this laptop. Does anyone know if u can toggle the timing of the backlit keyboard???
To the best of my knowledge, you do not have an option to change the keyboard backlight timer duration.
It usually turns off when not in use after a preset duration and turns ON when you touch any key on the keyboard.
You can change the backlit timer duration in the bios menu

what kind of NVME? intel 600p?

Hard Drive Features : NVM Express (NVMe)

256GB SSD M.2 means nothing there is
SSD M.2 SATA max r:500MB/s
SSD M.2 PCIe 2x max r:1800MB/s
SSD M.2 PCIe 4x max r:3400MB/s
and inside SSD M.2 PCIe 4X there is a huge range of speed
Intel 600p & Adata ASX7000 w: under 1000MB/s (note ASX6000 is PCIe 2x)
Intel 760p & Samsung PM961 r:3200MB/s w: 1600MB/s

i have bought ProBook 450 G5(2RS08EA) a week ago. There is a fan noise even if you just watch youtube. in this version i guess there is no keyboard LED. Poor plastic finish.
I have personally handled the 13, 14, 15, and 17" models of the G5 and they have all had back lit keyboards and none of them had bad fan noise.
Yes there is a problem with audio driver especially when i use Firefox browser. Updating the driver doesn't help.
