Bryan, OK, it has been 2 years of you using this Nighthawk Mesh WIFI 6 system. Since I am thinking about doing what you did, how is it holding up? Are you pleased with the system? What don't you like about it? (Ya know, pros vs cons). Thanks so much!!!
I have not had any problems with the system at all, other than a very rare unplug the whole system and re-plugin for a system reboot, which was more about the fiber modem needing a restart than the mesh network. Only things are that it does not come out of the box with a 2.4 GHz network, but you can easily enable it in the settings. (Needed to for our new permanent holiday lights and the old doorbell). It also does not have any built in parental controls. But it in combination with the Coax to Ethernet MoCA system has been awesome. (See my other video on the MoCA device). Oh, and don’t forget to…subscribe! 😎
I’ve had the same system for about 2 years. Mostly it works fine. But rarely delivers full speed to my devices, but usually enough for my use. I’ve had 2 main issues though. First, it does not like Alexa at all. I have them in several rooms and it’s a crap shoot if Alexa will work, especially multi room music. Second, I’m getting the connection drop on my devices, specifically my work computer, every couple hours. Used to not have this issue, but recently started a couple months ago. Seriously considering switching.
I do not have any Alexa devices. I prefer Apple. I have not have any connection issues, but I have not had mine as long as you. I assume you have done the typical fix all of unplugging and plugging back in?
I use Roku streaming devices for all my TV's on three different levels. I have Comcast 1.2gig service and have a Arris S33 modem and Netgear Nighthawk RAXE300. The modem and router are in the computer room top level. I have noticed spotty service on all levels even the level where the router and modem is. Does this mean I need a mesh system?
Mesh would provide better wifi connection home-wide that just a single router. I have a two-story home and a basement. I have all levels with a mesh system hub (router/satellite) and it work great!
Setup question. My end goal is setting up wifi in my metal shop. I have wifi in main house but the reach is not enough. With this system can I set up mesh router in my house, send wifi signal to satellite in my garage & then grab the wifi signal from garage & then resend signal through an underground cat6 to the metal building where the cat6 is plugged into the other mesh satellite to provide wifi in shop? Clearly I do not understand this stuff so here I am, asking.
Theoretically, yes. Would really depend on your house. For instance, the signal does not travel through metal well. Will also depend on the quality of the signal you are pushing through the system.

So if most customers are only paying 200 mbps out of the avail 1,000g thats available, you will end up pulling some data overhead... but during peak hours, when data traffic is heavy, sometimes you will test about 70mbps lower starting from any overhead...
