11-9-2023 I just bought my Handi Quilter Amara 24" with 12' HQ Gallery2 frame. I know nothing about loading a quilt. I looked at many brands of long arms and none of them had very good teaching videos. When I would say, "I don't even know how to load a quilt.", they would say just go to RUclips and search our brand. NONE of them had any videos as good as this one. BRAVO!! This is an excellent video. Hats off to you. You did an excellent job explaining everything from a novice point of view. Thank you! I am now feeling confident. Thank you so very much!!
Just wondering, where is your machine when you are doing this? If you have a smaller quilt, you can push your machine to the edge, but what if your quilt takes up the whole frame?
I have the same question as asked before - what do I do when the quilt top is NOT perfectly square? Please direct me to a video that addresses that common problem - thank you so much!
Very nice video Vicki! I've always been a floater but would like to try this method on my new Gallery 2 frame. I almost never have nice square quilts from my customers like you said yours is. Could you make a video showing how to handle borders that are too long for the middle or rows that are bigger on one end than the other so you don't have that nice straight horizontal line?
A lot frame is set up in either high position or low position. It isn't like the other frames that you can adjust them back and forth between the two views.
@@HandiQuilter yes, I realize that but I want to know how to set it up on clear view. I purchased a ruler base to use with my loft so I want to know how to make it work
@@HandiQuilter Thanks you .. I loosened some bolts and figured out how to do the clear view setting ! I didn’t know it could do that !! I must live under a rock .. 🤷♀️Anyhow I’m giving it a try ... I float a lot of the quilt tops . Thanks for replying .
I asked about this on the other video. I don't understand why one would load one way over the other. I don't think HQ ever looks at the comments on their RUclips videos. Too bad.
Nancy Casey I’m relatively new with my Amara, but my initial trainer told me that normally clear view is used when doing ruler work because it gets the other pole out of the way. Additionally, I just read yesterday that clear view provides a bit more throat space.
Where did you read that? I don't see how it could give any more quilting space since the rod that has the quilt top on it stays where it is. I can see that one can stand just a few inches closer to the frame which would be just a little helpful if doing ruler work.
Nancy Casey I am thinking of getting the upgrade for my studio frame to allow for clear view load. I am guessing that the extra space is due to the pole cradles being out of the way in clear view.

Thank you so much for these two videos. I am feeling more confident on my new 12 foot Studio 2!

Is the a diagram showing the clear view and standard view?

This isn't a diagram but it might be helpful to see the two ways side by side.

It seems to me that this gives me a smaller quilting area especially with the ruler base on.
Both Standard view and clear view have the same quilting space available.
Is there a tutorial on how to up clear view on the loft 8ft frame?

I watched your video and Jamie Waller’s and you both load the backing fabric differently and on a different roll. I am wondering why?
Vicki is demonstrating the clearview load. Jamie's handitip video was regular load. The back is loaded on different poles for the 2 different methods.
Has the. Studio 2 Frame changed at all from about 3 years ago?
Hi Vanessa, The studio 2 frame has not changed in the last 3 years.

Great explanation! Thank You !
What am I doing wrong? I see that your backing fabric rolls Fromm top, my is under.
Merci beaucoup Vicki cela m'aide beaucoup pour l'installation.
So much duplication between the two videos. I was hoping to just find a simple explanation of why one method would be used instead of the other

Me, too. Does anyone have the answer to this?
