What a great (and not so great) varied list. Amiga owners were certainly spoilt for choice with football games. Nice to see the GOAT quite rightly at number 1 (Sensible Soccer and certainly SWOS) and nice for someone else to actually see that Goal! was the better 'Kick Off' game and a big improvement over its more famous cousin Kick Off 2. I rememeber buying Striker No9 blindly thinking it was a sequel to Stiker (which I loved at the time), and being so disappointed and trying to take it back to the shop... they didnt accept returns ha :) Also a little harsh on poor John Barnes , all in jest of course, but it was a pretty good game and I count that in the same evolution series at the first two Man Utd games ref the play engine by Krisalis. Thanks once again for a great Amiga chart video :)
As a Liverpool fan, I must admit that I found the John Barnes ranking to be bloody hilarious! Nice one, Brian. Man U though...tsk. And you seemed like such an erudite, intelligent chap...
@@UKGamingNetwork 🤣 I know! I also laughed at the line "...King Kenny, that's only half of what we called him". An excellent joke that I hope more people noticed. Still...MAN U? Mate...although it does at least mean that we share a mutual loathing of Man City 😎.
Quite the epic list. I've not played anywhere near that many footie games. AMiga Soccer I bought on budget and I honestly think it is terrible. I was sure that you could get sound effects by hitting the Tab key but I may be wrong on that.
Football glory was very cool and Sensible is number one. Go to your list and put the original Sensible at number 2 position. :) Empire soccer doesn't cut the mustard for me.
I try to avoid putting in demos, but that was fun. There was Moon Soccer and Unsensible Soccer as well. Would have ended up with a list full of Sensible Soccer variants if I'd put them all in.
So many truly awful football games, probably because they sold something regardless of quality, whereas really bad shoot 'em ups or platformers normally got ignored. The Kick Offs took serious time and effort to get used to, but I can see why people stuck with them, when compared to how lousy most rival games were at the time. Sensi and SWOS are what I got hooked on, but I did enjoy Goal! too. I might need to spend more time with Empire Soccer, tried it a bit and never got into it (and I normally agree with Amiga Power) - it doesn't do enough with the special moves, and as a pure football game it's got a lot wrong with it. A few I haven't really played that look quite good, such as Wembley, Sierra and Total Football.
Kick Off 2 was our go to football game when getting together and having a few beers, good times.

@@andy6576 As I said, if they'd had him in an England shirt and it would have easily been Recommended 😁

Sensi is my fave. I had forgotten you could run away from the ref in FIFA. Haha.
Watching the shorts of the player in Soccer King change from black to white is hilarious.
Enjoyable video as always. Football games aint my thing personally, but do enjoy SWOS, Kick Off 2, and Goal.

I tried hitting a lot of keys but maybe not that one. There are quite a few games you should be glad you've not played though. Glad you like the video

Empire soccer doesn't cut the mustard for me.
Problem is, I don't play Sensible Soccer anymore because of the sequel. The games above it, I play more often
Player Manager was awesome.
Me sitting here just waiting for all Sensi versions to simply sweep all the competition away in one fell swoop 😅
You forgot that sensible demo with grenades. That´s also football.

@@MartinJSUK football games were always a licence to print money, especially around big tournaments. That's why there are so many bad ones!
Emlyns in 3 is nonsense!
The FIFA games were, are and will always be trash.
