Thank you, thank you, thank you you are a great teacher.I am 67 and i have been crocheting laces for many many years.I learned knitting the two past years from you tube and i am very happy found you.Happy New Year❤❤❤
Denise I have been a knitter and crocheter for over 50 years and I just finished my first pair of knitted socks. I have you to thank for this. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I started making a sock and the heel always made me stop. If by chance I did manage to get passed a very poorly made heel the toe never looked nice. I'm actually very happy with this pair of socks and will be wearing them with pride. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you for sharing. It’s comforting to know others have had trouble. I just finished a sock started in 2004. Through a lot of distractions and interruptions. But it’s finished. Thank you Jesus.
The clearest tutorial I have ever seen on how to knit socks and a fabulous demonstration of the Kitchener stitch. You are a wonderful teacher Denise thank you 😊
I have been a crocheter my entire life. I taught myself to knit 3 years ago because I wanted to make socks. Turns out I can do everything but socks until now. I officially have one sock complete. It is not the prettiest, but it fits and I am proud of it. Thank you for this class. You are awesome.
Wow Denise I just finished my first sock. At 70+ years it is harder to learn NEW stuff, but thanks to your style of teaching and your SWEET ATTITUDE, I have managed to complete my first sock. What a feeling of accomplishment!! THANK YOU for providing a wonderful tutorial step by step to complete a sock. It is something I have wanted to do for years, and after trying many other tutorials I, still, just wasn't able to "get it". I am on cloud 9 this morning after finishing #1 sock, looking forward to #2 and many more sets of socks. Thank you ever so much again
Another incisive video: Thank you, Denise! The 2-step Kitchener stitch is a Revelation! I LOVE how you showed what to do if you have to undo Kitchener stitch, because I haven't seen any other videos which cover that possibility. You embrace the concept of mistakes...as Challenges! What a wonderful teacher you are.
I do like the Kitchener stitch because it looks so seamless when done. It’s such a clever stitch. Although I have to see directions again every time I use it, I don’t mind. Thanks for sharing. Now I’m gonna check out the whole sock series 😊
Thank you so so much for your No Fear Sock Knitting series. I can’t tell you how many socks I’ve ripped out, got frustrated over, put away and stopped attempting to knit. It was truly a blessing when I stumbled upon your videos. My sister and I would sit and knit hats and scarves during her chemo treatments and she encouraged me to knit socks. I didn’t get the opportunity to sit and knit socks with her but I know she looking down and is beaming with pride that I’ve now completed 2 pairs! I couldn’t have done it without her help and what I call Denise”isms”. (Like-it’s not a race, don’t compare yourself to someone else, etc.” You have a beautiful voice and gift! Thank you again for sharing it!
Hi Linda, I'm so happy you were able to achieve your sock knitting goal with the help of my series. You have no idea how happy that makes me. And thank you for sharing the story about your sister.
I meant to say I couldn’t have done it without your help! I’m on my third pair now and going to attempt changing colors on my fourth. Yikes! But I know I can accomplish it as long as I have your videos to rewind lol. Many blessings to you!
I cannot believe it! I am wearing my first sock! Thank you so much for helping me start this sock journey!!! I'm with you. I love the magic of the Kichener stitch but fret that I may drop a stitch in the middle of doing it. You showing how to undo it has made all the difference in my confidence level. I love my sock and am starting its mate. I made the first one using magic loop. This one I'm going to use 2 circulars to determine which is better for me. Your No Fear Sock Knitting Class is truly a gift to the knitting world. Just imagine how many socks are out there keeping feet warm and toasty because of your generosity. Thank you!
I'm not sure how many times I have watched this. Yours is the best and I have it permanently at the top of my you Tube search! Thanks fir making this available.
Can't thank you enough, i just finished my first sock!!!! And started the second one also. The fear is gone and has become confidence. Thanks also to the wooly thistle. for introducing you. I am blown away how it fits, now I suddenly have so many possibilities. After the second sock, I will make the monkey socks you have shown. Much love from Sweden.
Hi Denise I’m following for my first ever sock and the thought of knitting a sock scares the life out of me but your step by step guide is so thorough and I’m enjoying knitting it!! I’m just about to pick up stitches for the gusset....a bit scary... and I’m watching all your videos as they come out so I can go back and they’re a bit familiar already. You made Kitchener stitch look easy and it is easy but fiddly so I can’t wait to have a finished sock. Thanks again for a brilliant beginners tutorial. It helps that you have a lovely soothing voice too!!
I am no longer afraid of the kitchener stitch! Thank you Denise. I have watched your other videos (1-6 for the no fear tutorial) in the last 3 days and while I watched this one I started my my sock and knit the cuff. Now I can't wait to get to the end to experience the magic of the Kitchener stitch.
Excellent tutorial! I ‘ll be watching it again and again, probably every time I need to Kitchener Stitch. Thank you for so generously sharing your knowledge and experience. You’ll make anyone who watches a better, more confident knitter.
Love love love your videos! Your quality is amazing… great instructions- love the clarity of your words and videos techniques. One of the very best and one of my key go-to fir learning and improving my knitting- THANK YOU!!!
Wow!!!! I just knit a sock!!! Thank you so much... Now to cast on the other one so I'll have a pair!!! Thank you again for helping me find my joy again.
I throughly enjoyed your knitting classes, first pair of many more to come.Thank you very much Denise for sharing your talents and your time ,sincerely Nancy
This is a fantastic demo, I have watched half dozen videos explaining this, and nothing made sense. You have demonstrated the pattern making it so simple to memorize. THANK YOU!
Thank you for this excellent video! I have now found my favorite sock pattern! I have loved the NO Fear Sock class. You have done a fabulous job teaching! I can't wait to watch more of your videos!!!
Just finished my second sock and have a full pair! I am so happy to have this resource. I never would have figured all this out on my own. Thank you for making these classes. I can't wait to watch the rest and try the other techniques. I've already purchased my yarn and am ready to go with my second pair. Thanks again!
I am proof that you can teach a very old dog new tricks! You have changed my sock knitting world! You made the Kitchener stitch my new friend. THANK YOU❣️you are a most wonderful teacher, calm & knowledgeable. So happy I found you😍 No more 3 needle bind off for my socks, ever‼️
I can't believe it... I have actually mastered the, Kitchener Stitch! 🤸♀Thank you so much! Along with your clear and steady instruction I found that saying the mantra was such a help. I did the four step method and then the two step method. I liked two step, but needed to be even more careful. I do think had I not done the four step first I would have struggled more with the two step so in all it was fantastic! 👏❤
Hi Denise, I want to thank you very much for your class. It was my first time knitting socks, and in english !!!!! (I'm french ;) ). My sock is not perfect, I have to train a little bit more, but for my first one I think it's ok. And it was fun, and very satisfaying to do that. Thank you ,thank you, thank you for your time and your teaching and your smile !
Thank you, thank you!!! I LOVE doing the Kitchener stitch now that you have shown exactly how to pull this off! I have completed my first pair of Shorty Socks!
The only tutorial I’ve found that has worked for me! I’d just about given up with the Kitchener stitch and resigned myself to living with bumpy toes 😆 I’ve finally done it, perfect finishing, thank you!
Excellent tutorial, Denise! I am currently working on my very first sock and I just came across your video. Now I will go to the beginning of your sock video series and watch from the beginning. I love your teaching style and I love your sense of humour. Thank you so much!
Denise! I have successfully knitted a pair of socks due to your very meticulous and oh-so-helpful descriptions!!! Keep going girl! Your instructions may be "paint-drying" to pros but to us beginners? You are such a wonderful teacher and keep the frustration to a minimum. Thank you!
I did it! I love the kitchener stitch and I have knitted my first pair of socks! I would not have attempted this without you Denise. Thank you thank you. Now I am going to knit more socks! xxxxx
I thoroughly enjoyed the No Fear sock knitting class, Denise! I have watched all the videos several times... just to hear your voice and demeanor. The tips you demonstrated were invaluable to this addicted sock knitter. Keep up the good work!
OMG just knit my first sock and it looks great - thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial, I am just going to start the second one now, and don't worry you don't talk to much everything you say has relevance that's what makes you such a good teacher😃😃😃
Hi Denise you're an amazing instructor i have been knitting and crocheting for years. I have always wanted to do socks and finally I am the kitchner stich is awesome. I will go back over the videos a second time. I love it 🤩😘💖
I wish I would have found you years ago when I first started making socks. You are just the best. Even though I have MANY sock patterns I purchased yours as the directions are so straight forward and easy to follow. Thanks!
New to knitting socks...your enthusiasm is fabulous. I have been inspired to watch your full tutorials classes for knitting socks for this reason. Looking forward to knitting my first pair. Thank you. Nova Scotia, Canada
OMGoodness, I just completed my first sock and I am in love!!! I still need to do the mate. How cool is this! I am so excited about knitting more socks. Thank you so much for making these, “No Fear Sock Knitting” videos. This first pair will be my daughters (we wear the same size). As I said, these are my first knitted socks, and they are not perfect, but I’m okay with that. I am not thrilled with the yarn, but that’s okay too, I plan to do more. You are a fabulous teacher!
Congratulations on your first sock Sonya!!! I know how great that feels!! And I applaud you for giving yourself kindness and patience instead of criticism.
Thank you for all that you do, Denise! You have a wonderful teaching style and presence, so soothing and clear :) I still need to watch the classes in full, but have watched some portions a few times to try to master techniques I struggle with (looking at you, corner heel holes lol). I’m excited to see the topic for Class 8 - have been curious about scrappy socks and self-striping as I have a few skeins of those. Will you have a future class in contrast cuffs, heels, and/or toes? I struggle with changing yarn to add in different colors and would love to see your technique. Thank you again!!
You are so welcome Leslie!!! Thank you so much for watching. Yes I will be doing a class about changing colors and contrasting cuffs, etc. I will make an announcement when the class will be available.
Another excellent tutorial. I get the 4 step method of the Kitchener Stitch. I have tried it before but your video is really clear and I have finished a sock 😀😀 So pleased, as I would have preferred to knit a toe up sock to avoid having to do Kitchener stitch. Now I can happily knit both ways. Your video series has so added to my knowledge and confidence to knit socks. Thank you 😊😊🧶
Oh my goodness! I just finished a sock! WOW! Thank you so very much for the amazing tutorials and encouragement! Couldn't have done it without you! And I agree...the kitchener stitch is magic!!! Now to cast on the mate....
Thank you for taking me along on the No Fear Shorty Socks adventure. You really did squash the fear of sock making! Your instructions were clear and your Kitchener stitch instructions were the best I’ve ever seen. Thank you, Denise!
Thanks, Denise. The older I get the more I forget. Every time I have to close something I pull this up to make sure I'm going the right way. This time was for a cabled headband.
Once again, I thank you. Being old...er, I have used one mantra for the Kitchener stitch for years but I just love your shortened 2 step Kitchener method. Therefore, I keep coming back again and again for the 2 step every time I cast off Sox. Thanks again.
This whole series has been so helpful for me! I've knit 3 pairs of socks before this with varying degrees of success, but the one I'm working on right now is going so much more smoothly thanks to these classes, and my kitchener toe actually turned out right on this one! I usually manage to twist the back stitch somehow and it left a ridge along my toe. Super excited for these classes, thank you so much for taking the time to make them and put them out there in the world!!
Now I get it! Have copied working the Kitchener stitch watching another knitter. So achieved but not understood. Now your explanation of the 4 stitches in the sequence has hit the bell. I have a finished sock, not exactly an exhibition piece!, and a eureka moment with the Kitchener stitch. Well done - another success for you and a first for me.
I have got the no fear pattern and for days have been going over your playlist about it… must say I am enjoying the whole concept and learning a lot. But just now, oh my! had an epiphany (as you said in one of your videos)😂 I have been trying to achieve a good result on the Kitchener stitch for many socks… it’s my very first successful time… thank you dear… love your videos, your generosity sharing your knowledge and the vibes you graceful persona inspires… much gratitude! ❤
Thanks SO much for all your wonderful classes, Denise! I feel as you do about the Kitchener stitch. Yay! I also like the two-step way. I was taught that way with no set-up stitches. I always add to the “mantra” the word ‘pivot’ which helps me remember to switch direction, i.e., knit off, pivot, purl on; purl off, pivot, knit on. 👍. Thanks also for teaching us the two needle method, which I now prefer to Magic Loop. I’m looking forward to your future classes, especially about changing colors for the heel and toe sections. You are the best teacher with patience and detailed instruction. I can’t thank you enough.👍😊🧶
Denise, I also love Kitchener stitches also. I use your second method as I devised it for myself a long, long time ago. I start and end the exact same way!! Love all your video tutorials. I've been knitting socks for many years and have learned so many new tricks to perfect my technique. Thanks a million!!
Denise you are a sock genius. I have tried socks so many times and get so messed up. I lose interest with longer socks and never finish. I have finished the first sock in 2 and 1/2 days. That’s a record for me. The sock pattern is great ! It fits so well. Thank you so much for the pattern and classes !!!
Hi Jody, thank you so much for your very sweet message and compliment. And well done on getting that sock knit on so fast! That is such a good feeling! Thank you also for purchasing my pattern and for all of your support! It means the world to me!
You are so awesome, professional and the videography is GREAT!! So you became my Kitchener stitch teacher, and I'm taking notes. Finding I"ve been doing it wrong and am so looking forward to applying what I've learned. You are awesome, beautiful, an amazing teacher!!! Thanks for being in this time, in this place. Knit like the wind! post script I subscribed!! thanks again!
Excellent presentation! I too have grown to love the Kitchener stitch, not a much as a beautiful heel turn which is frankly miraculous. I am something of a ringer (see my Ravelry pages) but I figured you can always learn something new. And I Have!!!Thank you for this series, Denise. So far it's been a fun ride. I LOVE SOCKS!!!
Oh my, Denise... I did the kitchener stitch on two pair of socks but it didn't really look good... I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong but after your real time showing I know I did tuck the yarn to hard while weaving... Thank you for your time and effort and I really love your teaching style. It makes a great difference in understanding what I am doing. 😘
Thank you thank you thank you! Maybe ignorance is bliss ... I’m a new knitter and this was my first sock and first time doing the Kitchener stitch. I just followed your directions, went slow and it was done ✅. For sock two I’ll try the two step method. I’m a self taught left handed/backward knitter and your tutorials have been easy to follow and flip!
Just finished my FIRST pair of socks!!! Thank you so much! As a new knitter, I never thought I could do it, but you were an excellent teacher. I'm so grateful for you and all my youtube gurus! Peace and love!
Denise, this was an awesome video, very well explained, you took your time and showed exactly where the needle went and where the yarn had to be. I thank you very much. I do the kitchen or stitch, but now I do it’s so much better!
Thank you Denise. I have knitted several socks before but your class made it go much more smoothly and I will no longer avoid the Kitchener stitch. Well done!
Denise, under your fine instruction, I just finished my 1st sock for my daughter. I still need to practice Kitchener, but It will get better. Thank you for this class! Already cast on the mate.
Bon matin Denise. C'est la méthode que j'utilise. MAIS je ne connaissais pas ton truc pour terminer les 2 dernières mailles. Tu es fantastique 👍🥰❤🙇♀️Merci
Denise, thank you so, so much for this class, taking all of your tips on board has really upped my sock making game. You've really made everything so understandable and not scary at all :) I hope you and all your family are staying well.
Thank you so much Denise, I finally knitted a pair of socks after trying so many times. With your help and amazing instruction video’s I did it!!! You are a great teacher!😊👍
@@EarthtonesgirlPodcast I directed my granddaughter to your channel. You explain everything so well. Gotta keep the next generation making and crafting.
I started knitting socks from the toe up but I love your videos so much and I've learned more than I ever thought possible I'm enjoying using your techniques and incorporating them for toe up socks!! I've actually used the shadow wrap heel for a toe!
Thank you so much for this video. I've tried Kitchener stitch and thought I knew what I was doing and then messed it up and hated it. After watching this, I'm going to do it until I do it well! I might still not like it but atleast I will be able to do it!!! And then again maybe I'll make it my new friend!
Thank you, thank you, thank you you are a great teacher.I am 67 and i have been crocheting laces for many many years.I learned knitting the two past years from you tube and i am very happy found you.Happy New Year❤❤❤

Thank you 😊😊🧶
Thank you so much Andrea!!! I"m so happy you found the tutorial so helpful! It's all about having options!!!
Oh my goodness! I just finished a sock! WOW! Thank you so very much for the amazing tutorials and encouragement! Couldn't have done it without you! And I agree...the kitchener stitch is magic!!! Now to cast on the mate....
WOOHOO!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!!! Thank you so much for watching!!
Thank you for taking me along on the No Fear Shorty Socks adventure. You really did squash the fear of sock making! Your instructions were clear and your Kitchener stitch instructions were the best I’ve ever seen. Thank you, Denise!
Hi Janice,
Thank you SO much for your wonderful comment. You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that you've enjoyed the classes so much!!
Thanks, Denise. The older I get the more I forget. Every time I have to close something I pull this up to make sure I'm going the right way. This time was for a cabled headband.
You are so welcome Kathleen!!!!
My first time Denise doing this and nailed it, Thankyou so much. ❤
WOOHOO!!! I’m so happy to hear that! And you are very welcome!!!
Been subscribed for awhile now..I am just about to take the plunge and knit my first sock ... thanks so much ❤️
This video is so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talents with us all.
Once again, I thank you. Being old...er, I have used one mantra for the Kitchener stitch for years but I just love your shortened 2 step Kitchener method. Therefore, I keep coming back again and again for the 2 step every time I cast off Sox. Thanks again.
You are so welcome!
Yay!! I'm so glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much YESssss I can now knit socks properly!! You're such a patient and unselfish teacher, you share important techniques. Thank you
You are so very welcome Nenita!!!! And thank you so much for watching!!!
Thank you so much for your very sweet message Monica!!! I'm so glad you're enjoying the classes!!!
Best sock I’ve ever knitted. Thank you so much 🎉🎉
You’re so welcome Tracy!!
You are so very welcome Barbara!!! Thank you for your lovely comment!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talent!!! I’ve learned so much and finished my 🧦!
You are so welcome!
Denise, I also love Kitchener stitches also. I use your second method as I devised it for myself a long, long time ago. I start and end the exact same way!! Love all your video tutorials. I've been knitting socks for many years and have learned so many new tricks to perfect my technique. Thanks a million!!
You are so welcome Linda!!!
Denise, Believe me when I say this is the VERY BEST Kitchener tutorial out there. And believe me I have watched many. Well done!👏
Oh wow!! What a compliment!! Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I love all your videos. You are an excellent instructor. Thanks once more!🌻🧶
Thank you so much Theresa!!!
You are so awesome, professional and the videography is GREAT!! So you became my Kitchener stitch teacher, and I'm taking notes. Knit like the wind!

Yay! Thank you so much Scott!!!
Thank you so much for watching and for your wonderful comment Martha!

Thank YOU Laura for watching and for your wonderful comment!!! I’m so happy you are part of the class!!!
Hi Tina,
You are so very welcome and I thank you for watching. I'm so happy the tutorial worked for you!!

You are so very welcome!!! I'm so happy the tutorial was so helpful for you!!
Loved all this teaching!👍🏻🧶🧶👏🏻👏🏻

Denise, this was an awesome video, very well explained, you took your time and showed exactly where the needle went and where the yarn had to be. I thank you very much. I do the kitchen or stitch, but now I do it’s so much better!
Thank you Denise I had to make four pairs of socks but yay I have finally got it.

I agree that the Kitchener stitch is magic! I do the two move method-easier to keep track of what I'm doing and it's feels more organic.
Bon matin Denise. C'est la méthode que j'utilise. MAIS je ne connaissais pas ton truc pour terminer les 2 dernières mailles. Tu es fantastique 👍🥰❤🙇♀️Merci
De Rein!!! 😁

I started knitting socks from the toe up but I love your videos so much and I've learned more than I ever thought possible I'm enjoying using your techniques and incorporating them for toe up socks!! I've actually used the shadow wrap heel for a toe!
Thanks so much Alejandra. I"m so happy you're enjoying them!
Thank you so much for this video. I've tried Kitchener stitch and thought I knew what I was doing and then messed it up and hated it. After watching this, I'm going to do it until I do it well! I might still not like it but atleast I will be able to do it!!! And then again maybe I'll make it my new friend!
Thank you Denise, just finished my first sock, omg I'm sooo excited!
