Hello Newby family, talking about Hudson River in NYC, there is Hudson Bay in Canada, your next trip maybe with older Crusoe and Sawyer. Yes??? Cheers🥰🙏💖🌺🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦P.S.: American Dream is also the Pursuit of Happiness ☺️
Welcome to America! My country! I became an American citizen in 1982. I lived here on a green card from the age of 8 when my parents came from Canada. I became a citizen after I was married and had our two boys. Wanted to be an American since my husband and children were Americans. It was great to see New York City through your eyes. I live in Indiana now and my husband is now a citizen of heaven. America is very diverse depending on what state you are in. Enjoy your time here. Will you be visiting Indiana at all?
Hi Laura! Thanks for having us!! 🤗🤗 We are so excited for this adventure. Your country is amazing, we will ultimately be heading south for some sunshine and national parks. Can’t wait. Hugs to you and your family friend. Thank you for your support. ❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
For sure The Stature of Liberty is very captivating. There’s something about her that draws the eyes to her. I loved the experience of the visit to Ellis Island everyone visiting New York should go there.
Hi Hixxy!! Wonderful as always to hear from you friend. Thank you for watching! NYC has been amazing!! The journey will next take us south, into some warmer weather we hope. Thanks for your support, a new continent to explore, we can’t wait!!! 🙏🇺🇸👍❤️
Thanks for the guided tour! I felt like i was seeing the REAL city, not the glossy one from films, so very interesting. Love watching Crusoe taking it all in too!
Hi Claire!! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Crusoe went crazy for it!! Loved the tall buildings, was walking around catching flies all the time, mouth wide open!! A wonderful week. Next week we fly south to some warmer weather. Thanks so much taking this journey with us we are so grateful for your support! 🙏❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Agreed the Statue of Liberty is beautiful. I got the chance (back in the day) to CLINB up to her crown. The view is spectacular. I also was fortunate enough to go up the the view point in Twin Towers. Ellis Island was also amazing...searching for my ancestors to see if they were recorded.
Hi Tammara! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. New York is one of our very favourite suites. Sounds like you had a great experience! 🇺🇸❤️🙏
You feel quite far away now. New York is a fascinating and mind boggling place for us Africans. Interesting to watch Crusoe really amazed by the tall buildings. Have fun and all our love from Chimanimani
Hi Uncle Mike! We feel far away! It’s been such a terrific adventure, lots of national parks and some really cool cities. Thank you for leaving us a message. ❤️🙏👍
Hi John, Tara and Crusoe, hope you enjoyed your journey through New York City. I used to live there just a short while. I appreciate the history but I don’t care for New York City. It’s too big too fast and too hard for me. You really have to be careful there, more evil going on there than meets the eye. I know God is with y’all and watching over you on all of your trips , but you do have to be aware of your surroundings and I’m sure you were. Looking forward to the next trip, until next time❤️🙏🏻💐
Thanks Doria! We hear you. We live NYC but could never live there. Possibly for a younger self, but not now. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️👍
Fun tour! My husband is a direct descendant of Anneke Jans Bogardus, who owned a farm that covered what is now much of Manhattan. She gifted the land to Trinity Church in the early 18th century. Whenever I go to NYC I have to make a visit to places like Trinity Church and Duane Park. Can you imagine owning all that real estate today? 😂
Thank for sharing all that history, you would make a great tour guide both you and your husband are so much fun to listen too, it could be your accent. Still so new on your channel watching random clips that pops up.
Newly discovered you Newbys, and I’m enchanted! I’ve been sharing some episodes with my family, and we all comment at what a chill baby Crusoe is! I’m the mom of grown boys now (3 of them), and oh how I miss them being little. If I could have a do over, I’d love to do what you’re doing! Thanks for letting me tag along! You’re all delightful!
Thanks for this special video !!! I' ve been to New York and I think it is a city I ' ll visit again !!! Thanks for the information you gave about it !!! So nice to see how Crusoe watches everything with the curiosity of a little baby !!!! Thanks !!!! Greetings from Uruguay !!!!
Wow what a surprise. So excited to see you touring the USA. I’ve never been to New York born and raised here so that was lovely. Looking forward to the trip west.
Hi Arabella! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Heading west is super exciting, we can’t wait!! Lots of national parks and fun places to visit. We can’t wait. Thanks for sharing your country with us. 🙏❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@TheNewbys I live in Hawaii now 31 years! 🌴🌺 Was born and raised in beautiful Northern California! Enjoy this journey can’t wait. At one point I saw you look up at Crusoe and he looked at you and you gave him a little smile and wink it was so adorable.

Hello guys! Thanks so much for the lovely message, sadly we aren’t heading up to Canada this time, but we hope one day soon!! We will definitely let you know, we’d love to meet and say hi 😊 thanks for being here 🙏🏼
I also have a home in NYC and to be honest never indulged in details the history of NYC like you did so I Learnt a lot today. You are teaching history to residents of NYC also. Welcome to USA.
Wow what an amazing adventure, from South Africa to touring the USA. Looking forward to following this journey. New York is on my bucket list. Stay safe 👍👍

I have just discovered your amazing instructional videos. My grandparents and great grandparents were immigrants from Russia to Ellis Island. Their names are listed in the registry there.
So enjoying your videos great camera and interesting content and Carusoe is the cutest little traveller. Watching from Queensland Australia thanks for sharing ❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍🥰🥰
Hi Maxine! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Crusoe sends lots of hugs, he is loving the adventure. Currently he is chomping on a peanut butter sandwich. Treating to OZ you guys are on our list, we can’t wait to get there!! 🇺🇸🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘
It was refreshing to see Manhattan threw your eyes. I've never been there but felt like I was viewing it with you. Enjoyed every minute hearing the history and observing it. Thank you so much for sharing.
Well that was certainly a sharp contrast from your last adventure trains and boats and planes you don’t see sights like that on Sex in the City it was interesting hearing about a different side of American history looking forward to next week’s adventures take care 😊
Hi Sheila!! Great to hear from you friend, its been quite a week! No giraffes in Sex and the City for sure!! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 🇺🇸🙏❤️
Great to see you in different surroundings and it was a interesting to see Manhattan and the history.Lookong forward to your next adventure and really looking forward to seeing some Portugal snippets 🙂🌈
Lovely to see you all in The Big Apple! I’m not a city person either, but everyone should experience New York some time in their life. I loved all the history you gave us about Governors Island. I didn’t know that about Wall Street either! I wondered if you went to Central Park? I can’t wait to see where you go next in this amazing continent.
Hi Linda. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. we did wander up to Central Park and also took a look at John Lennons memorial. An amazing city. Thanks so much for continuing on this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇺🇸❤️
Hi Ellie! Hello to your dad, Mr Henry Hudson!! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 🇺🇸❤️🙏
Really enjoyed that, very informative as always. I love America and have done quite a few road trip’s, last one being in 2019 to Florida. Looking forward to seeing the places you are going to visit, enjoy
Hi Kristina! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Its going to be quite the road trip. Lots of exciting adventures ahead we are sure. A road trip to Florida sounds terrific. We cant wait!!! Thanks so much for taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇺🇸
Another great video guys. Hope you get a chance to drop down to Philadelphia and see Olde City, Betsy Ross’ house, Franklin Court, Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell and the house where Thomas Jefferson drafted … ‘We the people …’. Lots of great history. Then if you still have the energy … out the Museum of Art and run up the ‘Rocky Steps’ and a selfie with the statue itself.
Gosh! I travel to NY almost every year. Now you are giving me the history! But, must say your energies are UP since your African trip! Carry on I am with you. Thanks.
😳 I am only 2 minutes in and should wait until the end as usual…but I am in complete shock! It is soooooo different to your usual locations and feels soooooo wrong. I just can’t get my head around it haha! Now on with the show! 😃
Hi Tiina!!! Mega different!! Right!! So much fun to watch Crusoe stare up at the buildings. As slightly different video this week, we always get a bit stuck in cities, back to normal next week. We hope you enjoy the video. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇺🇸❤️❤️
Leave your marigolds to seed and you won’t ever need to sow the seeds again . I love the big yellow Scottish one . Again fab episode love watching on a Sunday and Wednesday x
Very interesting and informative video guys, I really enjoyed it. You never fail to cheer me up and entertain. Enjoy your travels this week and I’m looking forward to your next experience 💕Be safe
Great to see you across the water! Safe travels! If you should get to Connecticut, my sister is there (in a forest) or to Wisconsin, our son is there (living on a lake)!
It’s so strange to see you in a city, but thank you so much for sharing this with us all. New York is such a wonderful place. I cant wait to see your American adventures xx
Thanks Mandy!! We’re taking some time getting used to it but it’s been fun - and soon enough we will be out of the city and back doing what we love ❤️ thanks for being here 🙏🏼
This is a very different adventure and I enjoyed it very much. It was good to hear the history of NYC… thank you! I look forward to your Wild West adventure❤️❤️❤️
Wishing you safe travels over there… America scares me, feel like you guys would have been safer in that camping spot with the long grass in Africa ya’s left. But I’m sure you guys be fine, sending love ❤️
Thankyou so much for this video. New York is not at the top of my places to visit, but I found your take on the history of this place fascinating and most informative. The fact that you appeared to avoid a lot of crowds amazed me!! I am with you on cities. I eagerly await your next vlog. Sounds as if you are really heading off on a pioneering adventure!
Hi Clive!! We can’t wait for Portugal too. We almost went strait there from Africa, but the weather is still just a little wet. So let’s explore USA for a couple of months and then, on with the project!! Thanks for watching friend!! 👍❤️🙏🇺🇸
Wow a road trip around America.New York is such an amazing city.i was there 2019 i absolutely love New York.amazing sights and scenery food in abundance from all corners of the world.I will be following you all the way i know i will be back in the US next year.Crusoe looking at the huge skyscrapers was amazing.
Another brilliant video and what a contrast for you. Seeing Johns face lightening up and heading for a tavern is speechless. Crusoe growing so fast. Thank you guys.
Hi Gail!! John loves a pub!!! Crusoe just about taking his first steps. What an adventure it is going to be. Thanks friend for travelling along with us. We are so grateful to have you join us each week. 🙏🙏🇺🇸👍
Hi guys. What a contrast to southern Africa indeed!! Very interesting and it didn't look too busy either. You didn't actually go up the statue of liberty?? I look forward to the next episode when you get away from all the concrete glass and steel as impressive as it all is. God Bless till next time.
Thanks Hugh, it’s a huge contrast and we’re enjoying the change that’s for sure. We didn’t get up the statue this time sadly, and yes - super excited to get out into the great outdoors! Have a great week friend 🇺🇸 😊 🙏🏼
@@TheNewbys sure is, haven't been for 20 years, lots of changes but I'm not compelled to return any time soon. Much like you you'll find me in amongst the trees and lakes. Africa safari is calling.me for sure. 😍
As ever, a very interesting and informative video thanks. Great photography to boot. But wow…..what a culture shock for you all! Not sure I could cope with all the noise and hustle and bustle after wonderful, peaceful Africa.🤔 I look forward to this series of travel videos and seeing the Wild West with you. Happy travels 🥰 Julie South Devon x
Hi Julie! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Huge culture shock!! Crusoe is loving it though, and that’s what it’s all about right? We are heading south next week, and then will be exploring the national park, lots to see and adventure waiting for us. ❤️🌍🙏🇺🇸
The Statue of Liberty is an experience that is best done in person. Although, your tour was great, the vastness of her is only appreciated on Ellis island. You can also go up into the crown but you have to book months in advance. I loved the time we had there and it was amazing.
Haha - I like that “American old” - I stayed with a family in Warwickshire who had a farmhouse older than America. Definitely puts things in perspective!
Hi Elizabeth!! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. The norther part of the states will be for another trip, we think, right now it’s a little chilly. Plan is to fly south and start a road trip down there. But we will be back for sure. Keen to hear more about those trails! 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏
@@TheNewbys Good planning on your part! Enjoy the warmer weather, we just got 6 inches of snow yesterday, and it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit👎🥶 So glad to see you checked out the high line!!! It’s even prettier in the spring-Fall!❤️ Can’t wait to see the rest of this US trip!
Hi Tara John and Crusoe, just wow what a different culture one min with elephants 🐘 now with sky scrapers sooooo different lol ,you two must spend all your spear time doing research on wear you take us witch is most interesting, did not you go up the Statue of Liberty if you did I must have blinked lol Crusoe looks so happy such a beautiful little boy, till next time take care keep safe, John 🇬🇧🍀👏🌹🌹👀
Thanks so much John, sadly not this time for the top of the statue but no doubt we will be back one day 😉 always great to hear from you and hope you have a super week 🇺🇸 🙏🏼
In California when you travel over the Oakland Bay bridge in San Francisco you see the lights and tall buildings I remember thinking that this a new York experience. And a town unlike any other in California.
It's great to have you guys in my corner of the world! It's so odd to see y'all in a big American city 😄😂 I love how much information you give about the places you go, especially historical information. I grew up very nearby NYC and I didn't know a lot of the stuff you said!
Hi Evan! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Really pleased that you enjoyed this format of video, we often get a little “lost” in cities, not knowing what to do, so this gave us a real focus. Thanks for sharing you home with us. ❤️🙏🇺🇸

Things had begun before the Hudson River and Manhattan was mapped. You forget those indigenous tribes had maps so Hudson probably wasn't the first to to map the place.

Thanks so much Declan! We were so keen to get to Philadelphia but sadly it didn’t work out this time. We will be back though so it’s on the list!!
Love , Love your views on every aspect of experience and History off the new world. Love it.
Gosh! I travel to NY almost every year. Now you are giving me the history! But, must say your energies are UP since your African trip! Carry on I am with you. Thanks.
Thank you Basanti!! We are so appreciative of your support! 😊😊❤️❤️
Thanks Carol!! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇺🇸❤️
Wishing you safe travels over there… America scares me, feel like you guys would have been safer in that camping spot with the long grass in Africa ya’s left. But I’m sure you guys be fine, sending love ❤️
Thanks Shan, sorry to hear it’s a place that scares you, there are those places in the world for sure. We will look after ourselves we promise ❤️
Amazing 😀👌😎 what a culture shock from where you came from 😂
You bet Angie!! ❤️❤️🙏
Thanks Linda, that’s great to hear. We wanted to do something different and we enjoyed it very much. See you next week and thanks for being here! ❤️

Hi Profs!! A complete change of direction. Great to hear from you both. Looking forward to watching your video this week too. 🙏🇺🇸❤️
There are many of us who would agree with you on keeping it New York!
We aren't city folk either!!
The start of an amazing trip through USA. ❤️🙏🇺🇸
The video was engaging and well though out.
Thanks Ally, we loved that trip, and New York is epic. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏👍

@@TheNewbys you could just see from the video, how enraptured Crusoe was…..marvellous! And yes…..that’s what life’s all about! ❤️

What a lovely video, many thanks and safe travels! 💐
Thank you so much!
Bonne chance et succès continu 👍🌸 Bonne chance et succès
Merci boucoupe!!!
The Statue of Liberty is an experience that is best done in person. Although, your tour was great, the vastness of her is only appreciated on Ellis island. You can also go up into the crown but you have to book months in advance. I loved the time we had there and it was amazing.
❤️❤️❤️
Haha - I like that “American old” - I stayed with a family in Warwickshire who had a farmhouse older than America. Definitely puts things in perspective!
That's incredible friend! Thanks so much for watching ❤️❤️❤️
What an interesting view of NY. Thanks for the history lesson. Ive been there but didnt see a lot of what you showed us. 💕🐨
We are so glad you enjoyed it Jill, thanks for watching friend 😊🙏❤️
CRUSOE SEEMS TO HAVE INHERITED YOUR SENSE OF WONDER POINTING OUT VARIOUS SIGHTS SMILING AND LAUGHING. what a lucky boy.
March 13th, my bday 🥰.
Arriving in the US is big culture shock, no matter where you come from, I think.
Happy birthday! And yes, we quite agree.
I enjoyed your educational tour if Manhattan. Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching Priscilla 😊🙏🏼❤️
You guys are so close to me!!!! If you head north up the Hudson Valley you will find some amazing trails and views!
Enjoy the warmer weather, we just got 6 inches of snow yesterday, and it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit👎🥶
So glad to see you checked out the high line!!! It’s even prettier in the spring-Fall!❤️
Can’t wait to see the rest of this US trip!

In California when you travel over the Oakland Bay bridge in San Francisco you see the lights and tall buildings I remember thinking that this a new York experience. And a town unlike any other in California.
The trees were spectacular Norma, we absolutely loved this trip. Thanks so much for your support friend ❤️❤️
I am really enjoying this video
Thanks Basanti!! 😊😊❤️❤️
Wow, lovely family, great video, good to see you again...can't wait for next one...have chatted to your folks in Zim...found out where you had zipped off to!!. Love Jenny
Hi Jenny!! Busy old week of exploring. Lots of adventures ahead! Love to ZIM we will be back later in the year… we hope!! 🙏❤️

Thanks Karina!
It’s too bad tha you couldn’t make it to Canada. There are so many wild places and wild life to me seen. The Rockies in Canada are the best anywhere.
Next time Andree, we will be in Canada soon!! Thanks for watching!! 🏡🙏❤️
If you're going to be in New York for a few more days I can drive up there and we can have lunch that way we get a chance to meet I will truly love that it will make me so happy to meet you your friend Anna
Yay! You are in the U.S.A. I love how Crusoe was so interested in the tall buildings. You definitely don't see that in the African bush! I loved your video...as usual. I can't wait for the next one. Hugs to you all!

Hey! You're in my neighbourhood (sort of). Its only an 8 hour drive. So, when should I expect a visit?!?!
Hi Mike! 😂😂😂😂 Far to cold to stay too long up here. We are off south, to the movies next!! Snow melts in Canada? One day we will see you friend. ❤️🙏🇺🇸
@@TheNewbys Nah. Canada is like Narnia: "Always winter, never Xmas".
@@ToastandJam52 😂😂😂 you need an Aslan, or as Crusoe calls them “Raffe” because everything with 4 legs is a Raffe right now!!
*Waves* from 2.5 hours north of Manhattan!
Hi Lisabeth!! Only 2.5 hours!! Lucky you friend. What a cool city. We were thinking my about exploring a little outside of the big apple, but in the end we took a flight cross country to begin our road trip, the weather up north is chilly right now!!! 😊❤️🇺🇸🙏 Thank you so much for watching 🙏🙏
Things had begun before the Hudson River and Manhattan was mapped. You forget those indigenous tribes had maps so Hudson probably wasn't the first to to map the place.
Nice details Denise! We didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🇺🇸👍
Look out America!
