As someone who struggled with aim early on, this plane was a god send. You don’t have to land 200 rounds of 50 cal to get a kill. It was huge for a moral booster if your still learning the game.
You're videos are definitely very helpful for learning air combat in WT. Helped me become a lot better, and I've been using the FW-190 D-13 to great effect in grinding the German tree!
Everytime i see a p51 gameplay it bring me back to when missiles where considered dark magic and the most sophisticated weapon system was the maus with his extra cannon

The cannon-stang was the first plane i played ARB with and the first plane i learnt how to energy trap someone... i still remember that moment, it was a twin prop heavy fighter can't remember the model but it was pulling up for me, i had recently boomed and now i was zooming. Spiralled above the guy as he tried to follow only to stall himself out and i cranked out a 180, got 45 degrees onto him and shot him from 900m out.
really like watching your content because it gives me a more deeper insight into dogfighting and just air RB at all, normally i just flail around and try to get my nose on but i believe my skill has increased since I started watching your tutorial videos.

Last time i played this play was about 4 months ago and it was so much fun, spent maybe 2 days straight playing it. I'm happy its even better now with the real shatter changes. Amazing content as always, keep it up.
This was my first plane with cannons and it was a joy to fly, especially since enemies just stopped existing the moment I even blinked in their general direction
it's also a monster. Last time I took it out during fragmentary shell nerf I managed to critically damage 8 people, imagine with the current Hispano damage that 1taps enemies
This was the first Mutang i unlocked and i was honestly blown away by it's performance so now seeing it shred even more is just honestly cool to see and it's nice to see you take it out

I never had much luck with any of the P-51's. Probably a skill issue as I prefer Spitfires. Speaking of Spitfires, Defyn I would love to see how you fly the MK24 vs the jets at that tier. I always have a bit of issue with it since everyone just runs away from me if they don't have the advantage.
Aircraft cannon changes were truly a blessing, the Hispano HE shells used to be so awful that the ground belts were the superior option. P-51 might even be a little too low in BR now
@12:40 is the best advice you've given, this game gave me shingles... the stress of being so bad, took its toll.... I should have never started playing this game.
Best premium I ever bought, maxed out 4 crews using this one aircraft in the British tree and built up nearly 3000+ crew points in each of those for when we started ground forces.
At 4:07 is probably the biggest example of why you are so good at the game. I'm pretty good at reading a match and deciding what to do to win, but in this case I probably would have gone to help my teammate and try to get the 2/3 kills on the group, and then hope to survive against the Spitfire somehow. But you made the right call to win the match by leaving your teammate and instead focus on the highest energy enemy before engaging the rest.
This is one of my favorite low tier planes, I skimmed over it when I was just getting into the game and researched it but then came back to it and realized how much I enjoyed it

After learning to use the P-51H-5-NA properly, coming back to this is a cakewalk. Really sealclubbing games. And old players say it's flight model used to be even better.
Haven't done good with most planes, but once i started watching your videos, my experience and my motivation to grind them increased drastically. Much love from an almost 1k hour player, your videos make me learn so much, hopefully you hit that 100k sub mark much sooner!
Objectively speaking there are better planes at 3.3 (ahem P-63) but the combination of speed and guns on the cannon-stang is just a dream for anyone who knows how to fly it.
I remember when I was new to the game and I was starting the USA tree and found the cannonstang, to this day I still enjoy playing it. I always recommend it to anyone learning to play the game since it teaches them that turnfighters aren't always the best.
Love the Brit version of this. Bought it years ago when I was a kid and didn’t even know what a premium was 😂 came back to at years later and it was my favourite plane
P38E is also fun as it slaps planes out of the sky and I find it best performing at high altitude as it is an interceptor that literally just controls the top of the battle. Also it has the strongest flaps I have ever seen at its br. Highly recommend u revisit this hidden gem and this will probably help most people who don't know how play this plane properly.
Before the fragment bug fix, flying this thing is quite painful. You have average manoeuvrability, slightly above average speed, below average climb and high alt performance, and 4 useless spark dispenser. After the update the hispanos are amazing, apart from it's bad performance when shooting from someone's six.
In the recent update it got moved from rank 2 to rank 3 with no BR change. Now the only difference between it and the UK version is premium rewards.
And performance (but its like the performance difference between the D series, its very minimal)
That was long overdue. Best part of update.
Meanwhile the P-51C gets moved down to tier 2 for some reason...

The change to the damage calculation has really made these cannons more potent. I've had very fun with the beaufighters recently.

Hispanios were my favorite cannons back in 2013, and still probably are my favorite prop cannon to this day
This plane (and the later Mustangs) was one of the reasons why I even bothered grinding US air tree, even as a ground main.
Not being in the jet part of the tech trees makes me appreciative when Defyn releases a prop video.
This was the first aircraft that really solidified my love for the American line. So much fun!
