Surprised you moved from 29'ers, when it seems like it's the latest thing in Enduro racing. I guess when Sam Hill can wreck everyone on a 27.5, it just goes to show that it's not 29'er or bust just yet, right? I've been on a carbon Patrol for a few years now, and I've ridden several 29'ers, and while I enjoy them, I never get back on my bike and think..."Yeah, I like that bike better," so I see no reason to switch at this point. I'll be interested to see what you think when you go on a long pedal ride with 3-4K feet of elevation, and more than 18 or so miles. I keep hearing that the roll over helps long term efficiency versus 27.5, and that's something I haven't tested in practice yet. I did notice that on 29'ers, once you get them up to speed, they do seem to "truck along the trail" a little better with less pedaling to maintain momentum, but that is the only advantage I have witnessed first-hand. Other than that, I think they are a little more sluggish feeling, don't jump quite as well, and are heavier in general. THOUGHTS?
Awesome video and super awesome trail, I am in the market for santa cruz bike my first choice is the HTLT but I am hearing so much about the bronson so I am having a hard time deciding. Is it possible if you can share an input with me regarding your experience between the two? Thank you so much
Willbros My Thoughts are that you’re very close in that analogy... But when riding “At Speed” Maneuverability may play the biggest roll as far as feel & comfort in the bikes geometry vs. just wheel size alone. I’m almost thinking a Shorter travel 29 makes the most sense when you look at it roll ability over longer distances..because mostly steep short DH style riding is all intuitive to the Rider and their feedbacks playing the bigger control factor vs just Size & Speed. The Bronson looks super snappy and plenty of ground hugging control!! Stoked you’re having a ton of fun on the New Bike!!!
I just switched from a Yeti SB5.5 to a Transition Patrol and it rips. Not looking back. SBG is legit. Was also looking at the Bronson. I think we may see some trending back to 27.5 inch wheels, especially those set up with 2.5 or 2.6 inch tires. 27.5 feels quicker in acceleration and tight corners and keeps wheelbase shorter on bikes with long reach numbers.
As a newby to the sport, I watch other mountain bike channels and think to myself, "I could probably ride that trail." But when I watch your videos (which I love by the way) I'm like, "Naaaah bruh, not doing that!" Thanks for bringing us along on your rides.
Seriously. I’m not a nube and love going fast and cutting it close but I’m thinking I wouldn’t walk away from the resulting crash. I’m not going to bouncing through the trees at what looks like the plus side 40mph. Gnar!
You, sir, can ride. One of the better MTB vids I’ve seen in a long time. Absolutely ripping. I just picked up a carbon Bronson after demoing one in Pisgah, such a capable bike.
I've had the V3 X01 for about 2 months. There hasn't been anything on RUclips showing it truly shred, so thank you! A few ride/reviews and that's about it.. Looking forward to more vids!
Wow, the Bronson has some serious DH capabilities. Have put an eye on that bike a while ago... Wanted the HT first, but Bronson might be the Swiss knife that takes you anywhere you want.
Its 18 miles of the raddest single track downhill you'll ever ride. It's one of the longest downhill single track trails in north America. While your out here you gotta ride tahoe too!
@trailpeek can you explain a little bit more the difference between the HT (LT if possible) vs Bronson 3 in term of climbing, playfullness, downhill? I'm searching a playful do it all bike and like a lot to play with the ground. Like a lot the efficiency of the LT but was lacking the fun factor (playing with the ground and changing direction).
Id say the LT and Bronson climb similarly, theres a lot of geo differences between the two bikes. The Bronson is going to be more playful, in my experience, and because of the smaller wheels and chainstays. Hope that helps!
Holy ... that was fast and you straightened out a bunch of lines. It was good to see that you actually are human like the rest of us in that rock garden. Speaking of rocks... did you and Nate Hills go rock climbing later?
Hi. Awesome video. How long did you climb for that fast downhill tail? Do you know how Bronson and Nomad climb? I am trying to decide which one to get? Thanks
Hi Trail peek, what is your tire combination? I have the Bronson V3 S+ build and running 2.6 Front and rear . I’m thinking what would be a nice setup / tire size combination front and rear? Thanks!
Right now I am running WTB Trail Boss 2.6 Tough/Fast rolling up front and a 2.4 Trail Boss Tough/Fast Rolling in the rear. Pretty solid all around set up. If you need something to dig deeper I suggest the new Vigilantes or Judges.
Since you guys have ridden the new stumpy 29 and the Bronson v3 which do you think would be a better enduro bike? Im currently on a v4 nomad looking at both those bike.
dude just got a new frame with the rct3 super deluxe, what basic settings are you running on it? I weigh in around the same as you, and ive always run fox shocks before so after a bit of help with initial setup - rad video as always yeoooow
We are in the same boat, im testing both next week so I will let you know. From my research so far the Bronson is better all purpose mtb. But if you want something more DH oriented than Nomad is the right choice. I live in Vancouver btw so the terrain is similar to Vancouver Island.
I think I'll invent a drag chute for people who want to enjoy the downhill longer, so it'll slow them down to 1/2 - 2/3 speed without bakin' brakes & boiling fluid
I definitely recommend the Bronson. My buddy has a 2019 Stumpjumper and it's constantly breaking and feels sluggish at times. While my Bronson is amazing
The Hightower is gone! Surprised how much better I like 27.5. I thought I was going to miss 29! The Bronson is RAD!

What are you liking better about the 27.5's? I too am considering getting a Bronson and selling my Hightower.

You'll get there faster than you think!
“Bruh” is a sign of very low intelligence.
Ronald Tartaglia I’d argue that by not doing trails outside my ability is a sign of high intelligence, bruh.
Seriously. I’m not a nube and love going fast and cutting it close but I’m thinking I wouldn’t walk away from the resulting crash. I’m not going to bouncing through the trees at what looks like the plus side 40mph. Gnar!
Great overall trail ride. Especially the lookout view. It's been years since I've been there. Full suspension was still new..
Gotta go back! Better than ever right now!
You, sir, can ride. One of the better MTB vids I’ve seen in a long time. Absolutely ripping. I just picked up a carbon Bronson after demoing one in Pisgah, such a capable bike.
Downieville is all time and the crew at Yuba are super down to earth. Good stuff.
+1 for yuba. Theyre the best!
I've had the V3 X01 for about 2 months. There hasn't been anything on RUclips showing it truly shred, so thank you! A few ride/reviews and that's about it.. Looking forward to more vids!
It was made for going fast!
Wow, the Bronson has some serious DH capabilities.
Have put an eye on that bike a while ago... Wanted the HT first, but Bronson might be the Swiss knife that takes you anywhere you want.
Downieville is definitely on my bucket list! Gotta make it out there sometime. Looks super fun!
Its 18 miles of the raddest single track downhill you'll ever ride. It's one of the longest downhill single track trails in north America. While your out here you gotta ride tahoe too!
Hopefully I can make it back out to Downieville before the end of the season. It’s just such good icing out there.
No rain or snow anytime in the near future. Get on up there!
nice new ride. like the seafoam color. and Downieville looks like a kick ass town, awesome scenery!
Amazing Dude! most of the ride looked like 4x speed video! wish i can ride at least half of your speed, simply majestic!
The new trail looks pretty good. Pauley Creek is good fun as well.
Its an old hiking trail so you know its good!
Great video! First time I've seen a game of Crud without a bunch of guys in flight suits involved.
Love me some late night crud with all the homies
i did that ride in 2015 when i was over there , it was a long arse walk up to the tower
We shuttled aha!
I did not want the video to end! Keep it up boys.
Rad, definitely the new part from the Tower! Such an awesome trail, can't wait go back!
Its such a good pedal to add on to a normal DH lap
Definitely have to agree, the new Bronson is RAD! You guys were smashing! Good stuff 🤘
Dank place bro your new bike is lit
Gavin Abel yah bro
Dude i think that place is actually dipe
Dude I know it is lit 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
It’s Dench
Holy squat nice comment bro
Crazy, crazy, crazy fast. Excellent stuff, guys.
Downieville is just that fast. You'll should try to cross the pond and check it out
Trail Peek It’s on the list!
The speed is insane.
Fast is fun!
Really digging the additional content brohstein

Just watching the speed at 6:50 made me start sweating. Also, that jump cut at 8:23 was real nice. Killer riding!
Downieville is crazy fast. Pretty much in a straight line the entire time
Holy ... that was fast and you straightened out a bunch of lines.
Thanks
Shuttled up, Bronson climbs pretty well. I notice myself locking out the shock pretty often though.
Nice....ever have a interest in the Capra? or ever ride one?
Awesome video again, really fast riding good to watch!
Sick riding as always guys!
Dude I like the switch up in format once in a while. Niiiice bike too!
Thanks! As we head into winter Ill be doing a lot more tech/gear related stuff. Planning on doing a trail building series
You guys are such a pleasure to watch! Just awesome! Since you rode 29er a long time how do you like the smaller wheels?
Really enjoy them. I honestly think that 275 fits my body better
Hi Trail peek, what is your tire combination? I have the Bronson V3 S+ build and running 2.6 Front and rear . I’m thinking what would be a nice setup / tire size combination front and rear? Thanks!

Since you guys have ridden the new stumpy 29 and the Bronson v3 which do you think would be a better enduro bike? Im currently on a v4 nomad looking at both those bike.
It really depends on terrain and the rider. Im pretty stoked on the Bronson. Both are good race bikes.
Fantastic bike and incredible trail. I have a specialized enduro and i think that mtb is the Best sport in the World. I am from Italy
Cheers to that. Mountain biking is awesome!
dude just got a new frame with the rct3 super deluxe, what basic settings are you running on it? I weigh in around the same as you, and ive always run fox shocks before so after a bit of help with initial setup - rad video as always yeoooow
Live on vancouver island BC, should i get the 19 bronson alum s or 19 nomad alum s? I have/can only test ride the bronson
We are in the same boat, im testing both next week so I will let you know. From my research so far the Bronson is better all purpose mtb. But if you want something more DH oriented than Nomad is the right choice. I live in Vancouver btw so the terrain is similar to Vancouver Island.

Very fast!😎nice bronson!
Does the 2019 Fox 36 Performance Elite have the GRIP2 damper? HSC/LSC/HSR/LSR? Looks like it from the video.
Yes, fully adjustable. Feels great
So sick.. I need to demo one.. welcome back to the 27.5. Still gonna be ripping the hightower or this the new rig?
Bronson is my one and only rig for now. Stoked on 275 wheels
Finallly breakfast at last, RAD!
I might have missed it, is this the 27.5+ ?
Sick riding! What are you guys doing up so early anyway?
We schedule these videos to release early in the morning. So we're not actually awake when these videos go live
Nice ride!
Oh shoot I have decided upon the Bronson
Lots of these comments are killin me. Who gives a shit about wheels. Just ride and have fun.
Amen to that brother
Fantastic !!!
Wicked new bike but I have to say you looked far more in control on the Stumpjumper!
Bro plz tell me is this bike highly comfortable or not?
Still running the Breakout 2.3 rear? Vigilante 2.5 front now?
Vigi 2.5 front, Breakout 2.5 rear. Right now im running a trail boss 2.6 Front and trailboss 2.4 Rear
Trail Peek nice gonna try that combo next
Does it feel a lot like the Nomad?
It reminds me of my old Nomad 3, ive never ridden the Nomad 4
Solid riding..😎
Thanks brother!
I had to play this video in .25 speed, so i can see what it will look like if i ride it. still looks fun LOL
No longer riding 29ers?
Not for the meantime.
What are your thoughts on Bronson vs Stumpjumper? These are two bikes I'm looking at.
I definitely recommend the Bronson. My buddy has a 2019 Stumpjumper and it's constantly breaking and feels sluggish at times. While my Bronson is amazing
Stumpjumper is ugly as hell, the SC looks bad to the bone
Is that the new 5010 I spy flying in front of you?
Hightower LT
@@TrailPeek Ah, looked like that sweet 5010 purple. Thought it was pretty baller running a short travel at Mach 10.
Bike check
fuck yeah 🤘
Damn you guys are hauling ass! Definitely inspiring to watch. #Goals
Wait wtf...where does that guy poop?
He just holds it in all summer
Why not just get the nomad for your style of riding...
I still pedal quite a bit and in general I don’t think there is terrain that lends itself to owning a nomad in California. Maybe if I lived in BC.
My high tower Lt eats that bronson 😂
Alex Lamy he sold his and got this, there must be a reason
