Dude... Here is the thing, people lie, directly to your face and you want to believe them so bad and it all seems plausible but guess what, they are friggin liars. How you do anything is how you do everything. If you continue down the path with this dude, it becomes 100% your fault. You need a GC that is a gangsta. This is bananas.
Sorry you're going through this nightmare. Welcome to hillbilly country, and you seem to be a good guy. Beware these people who've screwed 14:14 you like this may need to become victims as you have been. Get a reliable tool and learn how to use. Keep it on your person at all times. Andrew these people will hurt you be prepared. @RogueWrenching
The Mille burnt down Thursday but he was suppose to be there Wednesday? It might be true but he should have been there the day before. This guy either has the worst luck or full of excuses. If you have a work contract look through it for breach of contract and find a most reliable contractor.
I'm working with an attorney to try and break the contract, I brought another framer out (this time a reputable one) and there's a lot of problems. Big code violation problems.
@ as long as they breached contract. You should be good. The key to contracts is you never want to be in breach even if they breached first. It must be annoying to now have to juggle finances due to their incompetence. Good luck with the build
@mattomara227 My fear is that this is just a big scam and the money I paid went to another project and the reason we're not making any progress on this is because he's waiting to scam some new guy for money to finish this. It's a mess, but my eyes are open now, and we're gonna figure this out.
I've got a really solid hvac company I'm working with, I'm doing a 3 speed heat pump with a propane fired furnace, conditioned attic space, with a fully sealed building envelope, so I'll also have an ERV to keep the air fresh inside the house.
@@RogueWrenchingI have neither heat pump nor ERV but from my poking around and pricing them it's a bit pricey, especially the heat pump. Given your list of travails & misfortune why not scale back on expenditures of "I want x,y,z..." and instead settle for, " this will do...". Over the years I've heard similar stories about "homesteaders" and relocators to SW Mo & the greater Ozark area. So many have run into disasters from the locals. At best, just a bunch of jack leg "carpenters, plumbers, electricians" etc. At worst a bunch of tweaked out scamming thieves. SW MO (& SE Kansas, too) definitely *NOT* on my relocation list.
@willbass2869 that's a fair question, there are things that are important to indoor air quality and long term efficiency. There's crooks and scumbags everywhere. The laws in this area make it easier for them to skate by.
Sounds like a $hit show. Doesnt even look like the trusses are bearing directly on top the studs. I would slow down and make sure they get it done right. Hope things look up.
No, I brought another contractor out and there's a ton of problems with this work, including numerous code violations. I'm working with an attorney to navigate the breaking the contract.
@RogueWrenching Man, i hope you get your money back. Personally, i would document all the details regarding incorrect install that dont meet code requirements and then put the guy on blast so he cant screw other folks in the future. I would keep it pretty simple w/ him, our contract is null/void because you failed to meet these obligations/requirements...give me my money back or your gonna be famous and im pursuing legal action. Best of luck.

The problem is my ex GC was an actual gangster who screwed me.
LOL. If he was an actual gangster, you wouldn't know. lol.
I mean a GC that is good at what he does. lol

@jillannie6064 Rest assured I won't go quietly into the night 😉

@ a Ponzi scheme? Lol that would be wild
@mattomara227 How bad is my luck to get stuck in that? Insane. Developments are happening fast, I'll post another video this weekend.
This is sounding like a blast!
Highly recommend
Even if everything is true, your contractor is a stain on the profession.
Agreed.
This remarkable story just couldn’t be made up! 😳
I hope and pray things turn around soon, and your home can be well built on time. 🙏
Haven't even started watching the video yet but that truss bracing looks sketchy as hell
It is.
Shady characters create innuendos weaving stories. They want to get fired because they already got yiur money.
That's what I'm afraid of
That is insane! You’re a better man than me. I’d be losing my s**t
What's your plan for HVAC?

it won't be worth the headache or drama
Just hire a replacement contractor and take other one to court....
