Using gel to adhere tips is FAR superior, and I don't understand why it isn't the norm. Cyanoacrylate (the glue used to adhere tips) is much weaker than gel, and it becomes brittle, often starts to lift and water can get in and the whole nail can lift.

I love that it soaks off so much easier and (if you do break a nail) it's less likely to rip up the nail compared to super glue.

Way back when this was not yet a thing i did think about using gel to adhere tips, but i never bothered putting it to test
Because everyone was using glue. Now i ask myself why would it not work? There's no reason.

    • @briannab4770
      @briannab4770 Год назад +6

@@liveandletlive7152 - I totally get that! It's a normal human behavior to simply follow well-established norms.
I believe glue is likely still the norm because it's simply been done for a long time.
I think it's the same for soaking off nail extensions. Even though it takes filing, multiple soaks, and little by little, dissolving and whitling away at the product, it's such an arduous process. But using a drill to simply file away the top layers takes seconds.
I think people follow the legacy that's been established because it's simple to follow traditions.

I make my own tips using the dual form "tips" out of builder gel and then use more builder gel to secure them to my nails, although I do have to make sure that I clean the tacky layer off after I've cured the tip to my nails with rubbing alcohol and have to lightly file the top of the tip in order for the rest of the layers of gel will properly adhere to the tip I've made. Of course because I only like the tiniest of length for my nail extensions, I am always going to have to make my own nail tips (which I've been doing for about 3 years when I found the dual form "tips' on Amazon).
Plus, with the consideration that I do my own nails, I can choose the technique that works for me. The technique that I like the best is the so called "sandwich" method that another nail tech who posts content on RUclips and was even featured on the Nail Education channel on RUclips works best for me because I'm able to keep the thickness of my nails to the minimum other than the amount needed for the nail structure.

Anastasia, I know you always throw out the "diamond bits" from modelones and other efile kits, but I.. actually find that they're great for a few things if you treat them like arbor bands. I use them for prepping the natural nail in pedicures. I kept nicking my cuticle and sidewalls with files and arbor bands on my toes because they're just so tiny! The cheap diamond files are the perfect size! Depending on the state of your feet, they can also work on tough skin around the toenails- regular cuticle bits are too gentle, and pumice stones are both too abrasive and too large for itty bitty toes! So I keep them! But I absolutely would not use them on fingernails or cuticles on fingers.

    A great video!👍
I’m a person that has sticky sensitive cuticles! I just cringe at the site of cuticle tools, nippers, or those little V-shaped things it’s supposed to cut the skin !oh no, no no no no no no! When I push back, my cuticles, and people have to be careful of pushing back the cuticles cause you can’t don’t wanna push them back too far. Just barely move them out of place. I barely move mine back in my cuticle on my nail bed is a purply color where before I even touch my cuticles or of the skin around my cuticles, they’re just white in my skin is flesh color. So pushing back my cuticles exposes sensitive , very sensitive, cuticle, nail bed! I don’t know why this is it’s just the way my fingers are in the way. They’ve always been because I remember as a kid having very sensitive nail beds at the cuticle area and the cuticle and sidewall that touch the nail bed I always end up beating my cuticles up a little bit trying to file because my cuticles inside walls are very sensitive skin. So I’m trying to figure a way to file the dead cuticle off around my nail plate, top and side walls, without any damage to the skin. Maybe using cuticle guards? Something putting tape on them anything because they always end up Bleeding insensitive after I file my nails just one little Nick on low with the mild tool and they’re just really sensitive. And how it’s so hard to file your own nails and try to hold back the skin around the nail bed how we only got one one hand my have to use that for the tool we can’t use it for holding my skin back away from the nail bed!😂 And that’s my problem!
Please do a video on very very sensitive cuticles and cuticle skin not just the film that’s on the nail bed itself but how to get rid of the dead skin around the nail plate. Insensitive nails.❤

Yes, I have a goose neck lamp to freeze cure product, it can be conveniently located at any height, like a table lamp and sometimes I use flashlight handheld lamp too and ask my clients to assist

How long did the gel last? Was it a top coat or base coat used for applying tip?

    • @Nailcou

@@Nailcou there's so many to choose from. We watch your videos they cool that you try a lot of brands but I'd like to know what you think is a long lasting brand to use? My daughter in law has constant pop offs. Thanks 😊

The digits of the rpm on the nail drill are not showing properly 😕 you're always nice when you review products but us as your audience we need your honesty

She was honest? She explained that the camera recording makes the display screen flash. She explained each rpm while filing.

I also hate using nail glue. If I use full coverage tips I always end up with bubbles and white marks! Yuk!
