Anyone with ears can tell that this woman is a special talent. Thank you Ron for pursuing with passion the gift that God has given you. We are blessed by it.
Hi Roni... very interesting composition/ Improve piece . I've been a Jazz Fusion drummer for almost 40 years and consider myself a bit of an snob when it comes to new and seemingly innovative material but your sense of clock is flawless and inventiveness of your fills reminds me of an younger Steve Gadd . The way you flow in and out of the groove without losing your place is very impressive. Your cymbal work is original in its attach and approach. Looking forward to hearing much more from yu .
@@breadstuff noo, she's brilliant, but I found the comment from this dude a bit snobby and weird, but I think you're right - the 'simp' culture is often a reaction to envy, so I'll delete this one, thanks for questioning :)
Move over Gadd, there's someone comin for your drum throne and her name is, Roni Kaspi. Straight up some of the most crisp & creative drumming out there.
@@マシュードーラン Of course, the sea of drummers is full of talented species but Weckl blew my mind 30+ years ago - this was just a jestful nod to a younger generation :)
Just found out about this awesome young musician watching a Jesus moline vid. She has the skills and feel - but she is also young and I can almost feel I am witnessing her in her process of “discovering / innovating” the instrument - its coming!! She will bring something new That’s how it feels . How great to be able to see such talent evolve.
Like all my favorite drummers, it feels like you're playing everything for the first time, not just stringing together a bunch of rehearsed fills. Loved the freedom and originality!
holy shit. I follow so many drummers. your rudiments and polyrhythms are flawless and don't distract from the piece. what a great gift you've earned. Thank you!
Seldom is it that a drummer learns to talk, to tell and to spread a word through the kit. Fortunately, Roni, of few, talks and sings her kit into ears that are listening for a story. Great stuff.
it sounds even better if you close your eyes and listen , it's good to watch it to so you can see what she is doing , those big thin cymbals sound good
Impresionante Roni!!, que expresividad y sensibilidad!!! Grandísima interpretación y composición!!. Gran presente y magnífico futuro como compositora y baterista. Mis felicitaciones Roni!!!!!
Hi, i saw u in tv with Avishai Cohen and was verry impressed by your skills and also by the pianoman. Great job. Jazz musik was not realy mine, untill i saw your performance. I have no doubt about it, that you will make it in the music business. All the best wishes from germany.

Can you play again the exactly same patterns at the same row?? It's nice as attitude to set yourself in that mood as a mixture of electronica, fusion jazz or Avant Garde you did play the role nice!
Damn,,better than the first one bc you were playing more in the rests and had to lay back a bit more, after all pocket is priority, but that also made your musicianship shine thru
OK, that's good. That's like 100% cliche free I think, but still has a lot of swing and isn't just high speed wankery for the purpose of high speed wankery. The limb independence is pretty amazing as well.
She's obviously very skilled, but listen to, and look at, what three decades of drum machines and computers have done to music. Once upon a time, the goal was to make machines sound human; now all the humans sound like machines.
I would not in any way disagree with what three decades of drums machines and computers have done to music. Well, more like four of drum machines and three of computers, and more so the three decades of computers in terms of damage done. But Roni is not suffering from any of that. This sounds nothing at all like a drum machine. Feel free to try to program this into a drum machine. If you mean sonically, well maybe a bit. But mostly it's just a fairly muted kit in a dead room is all. Nothing new about that. Lots of highly muted drums in dead rooms in the 70s. Of course this is a solo piece, so it's not going to be mixed like it would be in a song. Check out her performance here, which will probably make you happier. It's an extremely organic performance: ruclips.net/video/Y21I4AozyTI/видео.html
@@deanroddey2881 "Roni is not suffering from any of that. This sounds nothing at all like a drum machine." Well, I think we may just have to disagree. Sure, she's playing more freely than a typical computerised drum track, but her sound, the touch, the temporal displacements, the hi hat work, the phrasing and the almost total lack of breath and flow are all products of the machine age. And not to state the obvious, but she is playing along to a machine and has obviously done so a hell of a lot. And that's the main problem with the way people are learning to play these days. Yes, the track with Avisai Cohen is different and less overtly mechanical (very nice cymbal work) but I can't stand that kind of so-called jazz. I find it utterly devoid of warmth and humanity. It's also relentless and boring. What makes music is breath - there is none in that music; no space, no humour, no love. All that said, I'm not denying her skill (which is considerable) and I'd rather listen to her than JD Beck any day! I don't blame young musicians. Like all of us, they are products of their age. I just think it's a really shitty age!
I've seen her play with Jesus Molina and she's great. But regarding this performance, to me it seems like she tries too hard and loses the pocket occasionally, especially during the first half. Also I think she plays with very little dynamics here, while the rest of the instruments have clearly quieter and louder parts. Don't get me wrong though, I know she's very talented. I just don't think this was the best of her, nor does it need to be. Just saying. ☺
I am sure you meant this respectfully. However, I doubt you are qualified to give advice to someone who's already been on tour with Avishai Cohen. And that presumption is disrespectful.
