Reminds me of players like Billy Higgins and Brian Blade. Got plenty of technique, but it’s just all the ways they voice ideas with little regard to how technically impressive it comes across. Refreshing in the world of choptastic speed exhibitions.
Always love Tama drums all my favorite drummers uses tama but it’s the best drumming companies in the world it’s a dream company I’ve always wanted to use
not only is this an absolutely inspiring video (I like many others found her through the night in tunisia video) but for once someone uses the spiral ride and not just as a random one off!
I'm a Big Jack ddejognettefan from back and the drummer on Herbie Hancock's headhunters the name escapes me at the moment wooden Tony Williams and I'm a big matt garstka fan now, that I have to say this is the best female drummer I've ever seen and that's not only gender-specific because she definitely one of the best new drummers definitely in her age group man or woman I've seen since Matt garstka and although very different as far as a technicality and whatnot I love that she incorporates a real sense of GrooVe into her solo and the buildup of the fellow into the back into the music was phenomenal making me think that she's an excellent listener of music because the best musicians who Play are the best listeners, just like some of the best authors are the most avid readers, and certainly the best conversation iist are qlso the best listeners
Tama star drums are just levels above anything and everything with Tama starclassics being right up there as well but with a thicker more aggressive beefy tone whole Tama stars offer a thinner yet still beefy aggressive sound with a perfect singing tone behind each hit no matter how low or high you tune them. Starclassics have amazing tone but it’s just a shorter more thuddy note that is quick and gets out the way while still cutting through any type of music which is why gospel chops drummers love starclassics as well as metal Djent progressive snd punk and just every genre under the whole bunch of sub genres under the rock/metal/punk/hardcore genre drummers love starclassics whole fusion/jazz/solo/clinic drummers LOVE star drums for their crystal clear singing tone and wide tuning range and the most impressive thing about star drums is the dynamics. You can tune them sky high and barely hit star drums that aren’t even in perfect tuning and each drum will sing with the most feathery touch including even the kick drum yet at the same time it can cut through and scream and roar and sound like a cannon if you lay into it and have it tuned medium to finger tight very low without sounding like a lifeless dead cheap kit tuned low
@@xstij with all due respect, Tony died a long time ago, and there were a lot of people playing this drumkit model besides him, including Peter Erskine. and none of them had to check with you or whoever else, if they may be allowed on it
Sound der Snare ist top, die Floortom für mich zu tot, Hängetom geil, das Trommeln insgesamt zu viel...aber mein Respekt vor der spielerischen Leistung.
Saw her at the Tama 50th anniversary festival. All other drummers were humble and awesome. Her performance, however, was self-indulgent to the point of parody, most of it was incomprehensible noise, and there was no musicality to it whatsoever. At one moment into one of her endless “drum” solos, you saw people actually look around the hall with puzzled expressions. Look: I’m a conservatory-schooled drummer. If I can’t distinguish between what you’re playing and literally just doing random nonsense, you’re not making music.
I love this whole heartedly watching her throw a musical fit was the most beautiful thing I've seen since the invention of snapback hats
That's the silkiest sound ever. Amazing music!
Tama is killing it with jazz endorsees!!! She's amazing
That mixing and drum set sound is to die for 😩
Lovely and tasteful playing. Never seen anyone sit that high before
She taking care of those knees
Chris Daddy Dave
Steve lamos 😅😅
What a talented musician! She restores my faith in music and its direction. Just wish they made the cash these pop stars rake in!
that is grooving damn. she knows what shes doing
Great! She has just the right amount of space in her playing.
Lost for words this is so beautiful ❤😊
Amazing mix. The kick drum is perfect and the floor toms are wonderful
I'm completely agree with U my friend! Great mix!
This is an incredible performance
She’s fantastic and has soul. If they were at more stores I would love to play on a star kit.
Incredible!
Here she is again being beautifly artistic!
she is so great - not a just a drummer but an artist with a unique voice !

The drummer ,just wooow😮
best thing i watched this year!
Oh wowwww. Lady god of the kit!!!! Wow!!!
Now that's some hip music, written and played by someone who knows exactly what they're doing.
I legit started crying when I first hit play ….. you were damn right about the feels ❤
Straight in love with her
Love the Groove and the feel absolutely Stunning 💎👏💎👏💎🥁🔥🥁🔥🥁💯💯💯💯💯💯🥁🔥🥁
Every time I see her play I am amazed how high she sits. Cool thing about drums is there is no right way for everyone.
Woow girl !! Awesome 💯👍💯😎🎉🎉
6:23 props to all the musicians
I agree. I rewound to that moment a few times and couldn’t get it right at all.
I’ve always wondered if they rehearse a cue in the solo, because they are no way they are counting bars that whole time lol
@@jakehewitt2697my guess is there is a queue in their headsets. That either gives them a direct countdown or a x number of bars left queue
If you listen closely she comes back in with the groove with a snare accent on 3 around 6:14 for 3 bars with a 1 bar fill to bring the band back in.
Perfection all around. Obsessed with this performance.
Enfin une autre expression aérienne avec un groov sublime🔥 🤌🏼🤌🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Acabo de conocer a esta baterista y es realmente excepcional !!
Awesome drumming, and an incredible-sounding kit. Loving that snare particularly. Her throne height is about as high as mine, and I'm 6'3" :O
Perfect 🎼
Incroyable !!
Awesome 👏🏾
SO CRISPYYY 🔥🔥🔥

She's got a unique sound
Very Very Nice!!
Welcome back, Elvin Jones

This is awesome!
The drums sound great but that Kerope ride with the rivets, that is the star.
I like the ash snare too.

That's control, damn
Holy shout
How to make the saint anger snare sound tasty.

Ay we got the arch drummer
nice
🤯😍
Anyone got a model name on the ride?
Looks like a 22" Zildjian Kerope
👍
Im hoping Star Mahogany becomes a standard in the line up.
holy fucking shit
רוני כספי, משלנו?
Close your eyes and you'll hear shades of Gary Husband's solos. 👍🏼🤩
Reminds me of Buddy Rich
Why isn't there a "not quite my tempo" comment
ok maybe she is allowed on the tony kit
this comment is the reason why everyone else can't have nice things

Always sounds great when you're jamming...then you listen back to the recording....😳🤷♂️🤦♂️
Batterista bravissima, batteria bellissima, suono stupendo.A mio avviso i timpani sono troppo stoppati rispetto al suono degli altri pezzi...
Tasty
Musion.

you don't get it, simple as. no need to pretend you're the arbiter of what's considered music.
i kind of have the same suspicion but i keep coming back to watching her in this and other performances and i hate drum solos
ince
i hate the snare but that dont mean it dont sound great.
