These lyrics are an accurate representation of what depression's really like. Things merge, blur, and you're stuck in your own head, just whispering "one more time" and saying you're okay when you're struggling to get through a single hour of the day.

If he’d ended it like that, it would’ve sounded awkward. The point of most songs is that their words rhyme in every other verse or so, or at least flow nicely.
Plus, that may be the direct Japanese translation, but their words are different than ours, therefor if probably sounds better in Japanese since it may rhyme or flow better in their language.
Like the cover artists Lee, for example. She changes lyrics in her covers so that they sound and flow better and don’t sound awkwardly shoved through google translate.

I kinda thought the guy was the representation of her depression too but in the end it seems she finally gives in and excepts and she finally commits suicide after trying "one more time" too many times

Maybe instead it means I understand what is going on and I am here for you. The only reason I say this well long story short I tried to commit suicide and my friend found me trying to take pills she grabbed the bottle and said if your doing it I am going with you cause I can't live without u. I was so focused on me that I really didn't see anyone else and depression does that shit to you I just broke down sobbing trust me it gets hard but you just try to keep going so I see this as a revelation to her about what is going on any way sorry for rambling thanks for listening
This is such as realistic song. So many people now will be asked if they are alright, and say yes. The truth behind that is that they are not. Some are depressed, have health or mental issues, and some are even suicidal. This song should be inspirational to all of you who know someone like this. Sometimes, all they really want is for someone to lean on. To ask what is really wrong or know that they are lying. One can help them or simply be a shoulder to cry on.
This was always my favourite English version growing up. I used to copy the lyrics down into my notebooks when I was bored in school. It’s meant so much to me over the years. Thanks for that.☺️

To me, Miku Hatsune is essentially the psychopath that hits you right in the feelings in almost every song, and this is no exception. This song, plus Crime & Punishment, plus Outer Science... All that equals one emotional breakdown from anyone. TTnTT (And that's why Vocaloids are so popular: Each one has their own personality in their songs that somebody can connect to.)
Outer Science is sung by IA and is part of the Kagerou Project but i can be relatable to this kind of in the sense of having problems

At the end, you can see her shoes are off and her depression is hugging her, meaning her depression got the best of her. (In Japan, you take your shoes off when you are about to commit suicide)
