Galaxy TAB S7/S7+: Forgot Password Can't Turn OFF to Factory Reset? (FIXED)

I show you how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 or S7 Plus if you forgot your password, PIN Code, pattern/swipe password and cannot turn off the phone so you can boot into the Android recovery options menu to preform a factory reset. If you forgot your password you first need to shut off the tab but it may ask you for a password that you forgot or maybe the password just does not work. Anyway I show you how to factory reset eventhough you forgot your password. Hope this helps.

This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

Works great! I've been trying to reset my tablet for a while now but couldn't find anything with the "too many incorrect attempts" not letting me power it down. In the past, I've given up because previous methods hadn't worked but this had the perfect explanation. The switch from volume down to up when holding down the power button has to be so precise, it's crazy! Thank you for this video ❤

Finally someone who understood the problem: My Mon was not using the tablet and gave it to me, but she did not remember the PW. I powered it and could not get it to shut down to do the factory reboot. Many videos out there, but none addressing the "can't even turn the thing off" issue. This worked for me on the FIRST try!
Question: When I go through the setup, it still wants the password or Google account. My Mon does not have either. Any ideas? Thanks!
IT WORKED! I had to plug it in to my PC for some reason, but finally got recovery screen. At the same time was on with support, who would not help without sending it in.

When you plug it into the PC do i have to puch butrons a certain way or click on a connection on the computer. Having a lot of trouble.
@@1643901 you just plug it in, that’s all that you need to do. Don’t touch the computer at all. As long as it is connected that’s all you need to worry about. Once that is done, you just reboot it with the buttons shown in this video. The only difference from this video is he didn’t plug it into a computer. Sorry, I saw this too late.

I did this along with you in your tutorial on my tab A and it worked perfectly on the first try!
It doesn't react the same way as the tab S7 but I kept holding the power button and volume up button until you told us you weren't going to reset your tablet, just to make sure I held it long enough.
The tab acted the same as it does when it restarts but then loaded the wipe data screen
How long exactly did you press the power + vol up buttons?? and when did you switch from vol down to vol up?

Worked for me right away after I connected the tablet to the working laptop. Spent TONS of time before that trying to reset.

For the S7+ you need to connect it to the PC otherwise this doesn't work. Once you do it works a charm. When you hold the power and down buttons, you will hear when it's disconnected from the PC, it's at this stage I released the down button and press the up volume button.
If you do it any later you may accidentally go into download mode. If you do just repeat the process. Thanks everyone for the massive help

I tried multiple times but it didn't work. Then I connected my Samsung galaxy with my laptop through usb cable and tried the same process, eventually it worked

I tried it five times. I switch from power down to power up just before the little buzz and sounds. It just boots normally every time.
Try to connect it to the PC, helped in my case. And try it again over and over again. Eventually it will work

Man so I woke up the other morning and just forgot my password on my tablet and s24 ultra they were the same .I went all weekend trying to figure the password out and couldn't but on my tablet it was letting me still use my finger print but of course I couldn't change it cuz I needed to know the password to change the password crazy right..so I did My phone first hurt my heart then all of a sudden my tablet Said I needed my password I was like nooo not this again..but long story short it took me 3 times I'm so happy thanks
I have S7Plus Tablet. I could not get the Tablet to reset (tried at least 15 times) until I plugged in the Tab to my USB port on computer and the "C" connector to the charging port. It worked the first time I tried.

At first, I was not able to make this work.... I tried many times, I had the tablet connected to my windows 10 laptop. Then, I tried connecting it to my sister's Mac. No previous drivers installed there, nothing. Tried the steps explained in the video again, and now it worked!!!!!!!

I had forgotten the pattern I had set to unlock. Then, after reset, I had to re-enter the username and pass of the Google account I had originally setup on the tablet (otherwise I had to enter the old pattern again)
Thanks. I was able to get to the recovery option menu on the 2nd try. As an aside, it never gave me the option, after attempting to log in multiple times, to regain my password. Since this Tab is new, I did not have any data, other than what was needed to set up, lost. Again, thanks.

Although I did not need to factory reset my tablet, this helped a lot.
My tablet was like completely frozen dude. It was lagging so bad and it wouldn't even recognize my four digit pin, instead thinking it was a six-digit pin. It finally worked after restarting it, without the need of a factory reset

I was trying all day but couldn't get it to work, however if you go to the find my phone page on you Samsung account via another device you have the option to remote unlock then change your password or pattern boom, great video though

to whoever might be in a situation of tablet locked, and can't shut. And the above doesnt work: just connect the device via cable to a pc and pwr+down, as soon as the screen goes black pwr+up and it goes into recovery. it worked for me, i hope it can for u too.
I spoke to soon. 😂 It has taken me weeks lol. I get frustrated and give up and a few days later I try again. I don't have a TV and my dog destroyed my screen on my gaming laptop. Only way to watch movies is on this tablet. Tysm

Took me 14 tries. What worked for me is after holding volume down and power i would wait for it to shut off. Then I waited 30 seconds and pressed the power button first by itself and the very instant that it started to turn the screen on I pressed hand held the volume down button as well. What a pain!

I really struggled with the timing on this, then i thought about connecting it to my laptop because when you power off a device it chimes, therefore id know when the reboot had started and i could switch buttons, got it first time then!!
Thanks for that extra tip, that helped me a lot, because my tablet wasn't buzzing when it powered down, and I wasn't getting the timing quite right after several tries. The disconnect chime did the trick

After switching to dex mode, it asked me for my pin. The tablet won't recognize my pin so I've tried over 10 times to try to reset it but it just keeps restarting the tabled instead. Does it need a certain charge to enter the factory mode?
Yeah, same thing happened to mine and I have no idea how to make it works.
Link tablet to your computer/ laptop. Then repeat sequence . It worked first time for me when I got desperate and tried it.

This didn't work for me until I connected the table to the computer my wife originally set it up with. Tried a dozen times without doing that... then connected it to my wife computer and it got to the reset menu using the exact same steps. I hope this helps someone else!
