Any suggestions to ship frozen pies from NY to Florida? I've been making pie for years. We are a small family business. My daughter opened up a beef store. She supports family businesses,She will need 50 pies a month. She wants the pies shipped frozen and the customer will bake their pie. Thank you I enjoyed your video.
never vacuum seal for shipping this can put pressure on the pie and crush it during shipping, shrink simply shrinks to the product securing it BUT not crushing it
@@MarketingFoodOnline I understand. It is difficult. I'm hoping a solution appears. I saw a company sell them frozen. I assume you have tried freezing them.
thanks! yes you can add a couple ice packs experiment with how many ice packs you need by shipping to different destinations to see what works no dry ice just ice packs
hello any cake like that ship with ice packs BUT ship on Monday or Tuesday the begging of he week. I learn ed this the hard way don't ship Thursday or Friday due to the weekend over lay. this will cause 3 days extra in transit.
I’m a home baker with family and friends who want my pies shipped for the holidays. I froze them, double wrapped them in cling wrap, packed them in insulated box with ice packs last year and they all arrived soft and a bit mushy… I don’t want to invest $1,000 in this, but I also don’t know how to do this better.
If you ship a pie frozen but the customer is not requesting that it to show up frozen, can you freeze it, pack it and ship it without ice packs ? I'm thinking that freezing it first, would make the packaging easier but the pie will still be fine upon arrival. Your thoughts, please.
@MarketingFoodOnline Thanks! I'm looking into different home based income streams and I am really good with pies, cookies and fudge. I'm having trouble finding your fugde video- I thought Ihad savedit for future reference. (ISO the fugde machine- I know where to get the mix from)

For the pumpkin pie, do you not cover the top of the pie with wax paper, or does the shrink wrap keep the top from getting messed up?
Awesome video! You explained it very well!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Can you shrink wrap BEFORE freezing the pie?
Great information. Thank you!!
Thanks for the tip!!!
No problem!
Loved!! I feel better about shipping pies now! Thank you
You are so welcome!
So Helpful! Thanks!
Glad to help
The shrink wrap you recommend doesn't say "food grade" on Amazon. Maybe, I missed it while reading its description?
try his one www.uline.com/BL_2419/Uline-Economy-Polyolefin-Shrink-Film
Is the pie frozen?

Do you recommend shrink wrapping over vacuum sealing?
never vacuum seal for shipping this can put pressure on the pie and crush it during shipping, shrink simply shrinks to the product securing it BUT not crushing it
Exactly How I ship my pies. I still worry they will fall apart though
Thank you for this great video I was wondering how I should ship my pot pies when I start selling online praying in a few months.
hello frozen solid ship with dry ice and expedited shipping ...experiment first shipping to friends and see how it ships first
@@MarketingFoodOnline thanks I will do that.
This is soo helpful! Thank you!!! Also, is it possible to ship cream pies that require refrigeration?
very hard due to the transit time and the amount of ice packs and or dry ice needed
Can the heat cause the pie to melt while heat sealing?
hello no actually you are just barely close to it and make sure you keep moving the gun around the pie it will not melt it! thanks !
Have you shipped cream pies with baked cream topping (maraigne)?
yes tried and that type does not ship well....trust me
@@MarketingFoodOnline OK

Another great video. Can I ship a no bake cheesecake using this type of method, please? Thanks for sharing.😊
anything relate to cheesecakes even no bake is very hard to ship it would have to be frozen and shipped overnight which would be VERY costly
@MarketingFoodOnline Thank you for getting back to me. ☺️
Is the link for the Shrink wrap correct? It doesn't look like food grade.
try this one www.uline.com/BL_2419/Uline-Economy-Polyolefin-Shrink-Film
Any particular reason for the 16 inch size wrap and heat sealer? Would 12" be too small for a 9inch pie?
yes any size you need for your pie is fine we have a commercial kitchen with assorted sizes and we need the variations.
@@MarketingFoodOnline oh okay gotcha--Thank you!

How do you store your pie crust for next order?
should you ever freeze your pie so it stays fresh and travels well if 3 days of travel?

I'm thinking that freezing it first, would make the packaging easier but the pie will still be fine upon arrival.
Your thoughts, please.
shipping frozen pies during transit it WILL thaw out, it can be done with dry ice and 1 dau overnight mail but VERY expensive
Do you shrink both layers at the same time?
yes you can
@MarketingFoodOnline Thanks!
