So happy I found your videos! I had a home based cake and cookie business in Michigan, but recently moved to TN. A lot of my clients were asking if I would ship orders. I was preparing to spend way too much money shipping to friends all over the US for testing packing options. You've definitely saved me from doing this lol Thank you for posting such straight forward and informative videos! I subscribed to your channel after watching the first one!
i am so glad i found this video. i need to ship a hummingbird cake (a truly southern delight!) to a lifelong friend who happens to be a connecticut yankee - she's never had it. i did a bit of searching for how to ship a cake, and had just spent a ton of money on shipping supplies from amazon. (ok, i think i ordered enough cake containers and ice pack stuff to ship about 10 cakes, so i'll have more for later. but most importantly i will be able to ship to my dear friend. your video helped me to solve the ups/usps dilemma. my shipping supplies from the smiling box store should arrive by friday, i can make my cake and freeze it on friday, and on monday i will be at the post office bright(ish) and early to ship my southern delight up to connecticut. thank you for a great tutorial.
Hi there! Just the fact that you mentioned everything has energy made me give this video a like. The fact that you are so straight forward made me a new sub.❤

Hey Tonia THANKS so much for the kind feedback, and glad this was informative. I have numerous videos coming out on shipping all kinds of baked goods and candy

Thank you for the tips, Question I would like to pack my cake in the cake window box as well as the priority box, do I put the ice pack inside the window cake box then follow the rest of the steps?🌺
Hi this is so helpful, how about for frozen items? We sell frozen scone and cookie dough and want to ship with dry ice? Maybe I can use the gel packs instead?
What about a cream cheese frosted cake? can I ship with dry ice? Or just freeze and and ship your way but overnight it. And also my cakes are usually 9 in cakes
That was really helpful!! Any tips for shipping tea cakes or cakes without cream? Should I freeze the cake sponge and send it out with the gel ice pack too?
Hello. I am so happy I came across your video. I want to ship ooey gooey cake. Should I freeze before shipping and also I put it in a pizza box can I ship it inside the pizza box?
Sorry, a couple more questions! I tried scrolling through the already asked questions but wasn’t seeing what I needed answered. How does the customer take un- wrap the cake when they receive it? Also, where do you put the deli paper on the cake? Thanks again!
I would suggest actually putting a small card of steps to properly handle the cake for them to enjoy. Does not have to be a huge card or a book just simple instructions and it shows your a professional when you offer this as well.

Thank you for this video! Will this work for mini cakes with a cream cheese drizzle? I thought I read on previous video that cream cheese frosting or drizzle is recommended because it freezes well.
Good morning, I want to ship a pound cake that will have a drizzle on it. Should I freeze the drizzle in a small cup or pour the drizzle on the cake then freeze it? Thanks
Sadly the Ice Brix I bought did not do their job and melted less than 24 hrs later. And sadly wrapping the cake in plastic wrap doesn't work well when there's a intricate icing transfer on the top, so I only recommend solid colors unless it is cool climate where you are and where you are delivering it. Thank you for the advice though, it gave me ideas for my next experiment.
I HOPE this question will be seen and replied to. He mentioned that a German Chocolate cake can be shipped but needs to be "coated"....what does that mean? I plan on mailing a GC cake from MS to WA at the end of this month. I definitely want it to get there in the best possible shape!
Thank you for your videos and information. I do have questions about packing. I am baking cookies with berries in the ingredients Im wondering how I can ship them and package them.
Yes it "could" and what I mean by could you need to make sure the tep in the box stays cool or cold due to t he heat and what that can do to the item !
My question is when the customers got their cake how would they remove the shrink wrap without ruin the frosting. Would the cake arrive still freeze or arrive already thawed? When is the best time to remove the shrink wrap without ruin the frosting? Moreover is the plastic shrink wrap heated with heat gun safe for food????
Great question I will show how we use food grade deli paper to TOP the cake which minimizes the icing coming off... also you have to use Food grade shrink wrap for direct food contact and a heat gun . Damian

ice cream is VERY difficult but can be done with dry ice
