Thank you for the video! Few websites cap the size that we can upload..... say 100 KB or 200 KB...... is there an option to change the file to the desired size?
You have 2 options:
1. Resize the image.
2. Export a lower resolution of the image.
Both the above steps will reduce the size of the image, just like you wanted.
I am trying to have a graduation banner (17 x 52) made but the company indicated my images have a "low resolution".
Thus, the pictures on the banner would be blurry. They want an 30 MB size image. Am i making any sense? I have been working on this all day. I came across your tutorial. I tried to follow your directions but all I manage to do was to make the actual image photo very small, like a thumbnail. Can you help me? I am a 73 year old grandmother. This is over my computer skill level.
Yes, I know what the actual issue is. It all depends on what resolution you had in your camera or device, when you took the photo. The larger the resolution, the better the quality.
For example, some resolutions are; 720, 1080, etc. So if you took a photo using a Camera or Mobile phone and transferred it to your PC or laptop using Bluetooth or a Cable wire, this photo is what you should be using as this would be "high resolution". You will need to send this file to that company as they are asking for this.
Don't worry when they say they want a 30MB file. This can be less than 30 MB or more, depending upon the resolution used for taking the photo. So in simple words, all they are asking for is, an original photo in its pristine state, without any modifications done to it. When you send this original photo, then they will be able to take it, apply some effects on it to make it look brighter and more richer and use it on the banner. There is very little they can do, if you don't have access to the original photo.
If you don't have the original photo, I suggest you to take a new one or have someone take it for you. If you can use a high resolution camera, that will be great! Once the photo is taken, transfer the file to your PC and zip it and send it via email.
Your email might not allow files more than 15MB as attachment. So if this is the case, you can upload the photo to a free photo sharing website and share the URL with the company and they can download it.
You may also use other online services such as Dropbox and Onedrive to upload your photo and share the URL or permissions with the company, so that they can download it.
I hope this helps you.
@@extremewebdesigns Thank you so very much for your response, I evaluated my predicament and realized I would need another picture. I enjoy your tutorial. The pictures I submitted were taken by a professional photographer. Would I be blocked from using the pictures due to copyright policies?
If the pictures belong to you, thn you are free to use them. And who do you think is going to block you for using it? The design company? Nope! They won't do that. You only have to worry if you are using some one else's photos online without their permission or licensing agreements. Unless this happens, you are good to go.
