Melissa this was a FANTASTIC video!! I'm so happy for you!! Congrats on your weight loss!! 7 years ago I lost 25 pounds on WW and have kept most of it off (I've gained about 5 lbs in the last year). Just last night I saw a commercial on TV about the WW Freestyle and made a mental note to check it out so I could see what's changed since I last was on following the program. I think WW is the best program out there as it teaches you to eat healthy using "real" food. I know people who have lost weight on other programs like Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem but I feel once you go off those programs and need to fend for yourself it's hard to put "real" food into play. WW teaches healthy eating and making "smart" choices. I wish you continued success and would LOVE to hear more in your videos as you continue on this journey!
I'm really liking the program too Kate. I did it once before about 10 years ago for 12 weeks - it was an "at work" program and it worked but we didn't have enough people sign up to keep it going. I'm really jiving with the program now - veggies and lean protein as the basis for meals just intuitively feels very healthy and how I want to be eating. They are trying to make it focus on wellness as a whole - less about just food and diet. Of course, most people join to lose weight so that remains a big part of the topics discussed but they also talk a lot about fitness and mindset (and have a partnership with Headspace to provide some guided meditation). In any case, I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for mentioning the black/white all-or-nothing mindset. I just got started on Dub-Dub Friday. I was aiming for perfection; came in 10 points under the first day and then realized WW only rolls over 4 points... Last night I had 4 points left from the day and...it was gone Monday morning! This has really brought out my tendency towards perfectionism and nonsustainable habits.

Very impressive. . I have been at maintenance for over 30 years. The program has always worked, but the freestyle is absolutely the best and does work. I have friends doing the Shake /bar diets and have been watching the leader of that pack lose the weight and gain. Personally for me it’s the holidays, alcohol, sweets that are the challenge, but it’s still manageable with weeklies and planning ahead. You are gonna rock this all the way to a long healthy life.

I'm glad this was helpful Jackie. Keep an eye on the zero point foods. If I have a lot of zero point foods (like today my lunch was zero points because it was a big bowl of black bean and veggie chili) I eat towards the low end of my daily range.
Started WW in November and I lost 10 pounds (with three thanksgivings thrown in) haha I got off the wagon for December but ive been back at it this month and I love it! Its such a great way to look at food and how/what you eat. Congratulations on the loss and continuing the journey! p.s. i do makeup videos too and adding in some WW videos here and there on my channel. :)

Hi Melissa. I just came across your video and I love it. I did Weight Watchers many years ago and have decided to go back on it again. When you talked about breakfast and calories that is me. Sometimes I do wake up and want something for breakfast but not always, so it helps to know some people don't eat breakfast. I am a type 2 diabetic so I do have to eat but it is hard when I'm not hungry. Thank you for doing this video. Sheryl from the States
I totally understand having to have something to eat to manage your blood sugar and then also listening to your body to hear if it is truly hungry or just that the clock tells us that it's time to eat. I hope you enjoy the new WW as much as I do. I think it will be excellent for managing diabetes as there is such a focus on eating veggies and lean proteins and it's the carbs and sugars that are higher points.

I just started WW again last night and im on day 1 and I feel like im starving to death lol I need to lose 25lbs and im documenting my journey as well. I struggle with binge eating
I just got my 25 lb charm at my last meeting so I'm sure you'll get there! I struggle with binge eating too and I find the key is the zero point foods. Make a spicy chili with lots of beans and ground turkey and veggies. Have lots of veggies. Carrot and celery sticks with dip made from 0% yogurt. That's how I stay full.
Hi, I just subscribed to you for the WW Freestyle videos. I just started WW (I am using the app only) a few days ago and I am getting up to speed on the program and ideas on how to eat. So far, I am enjoying it and in 3 days, I already lost 2 lbs. For me, it is a huge change in thinking about how I eat. I love carbs and pastas etc and I am beginning to understand the types of choices I should be making when choosing what to eat.

I'm so glad you found my channel Sandra! Black and white thinking is such a problem. I've also had to refocus down to just having good days on plan so that I don't feel that I've I've "blown" my week I can just do whatever. Sometimes it's such a struggle to battle that kind of thinking!
This is EXACTLY my mindset on this new program. The all or nothing and why My fitness pal was no longer working. I learned to cheat mfp or would get bummed I was out of cals and quit. Same for the breakfast, snacking, and trusting the system and not overthinking it. At least until I revamp my ways of eating. I want to learn for the longterm.
I started on the 10th & I’m down 6 lbs already! I LOVE WW! It works so well for me. I just feel so much better & my clothes fit me so much better already.
I'm surprised that it's working so well for me because I feel like I'm getting better results than anything I've tried before. I'm not complaining though (and hopefully not jinxing myself)!

Hi Melissa i'm thinking of starting WW this week. Mainly for health reasons both physical and mental. I'm really tired of all the doctor visits and prescription meds that are helping me cope with life and my body as it is right now. I'm ready to lose weight because i know i will benefit healthwise. Also i'm feeling that if i'm spending less on medications then i'll save a lot of money. I also live in Canada.

I remember being so scared the first week. What I told myself was to think about how I physically felt. I bet you feel better, healthier, good about staying on plan. Even if there is no change in the scale isn't it worth it to feel like that? That takes the power away from the scale and changes it to how you really feel.
Hi Melissa, I’m approaching goal after a loss of about the total you have in mind and a lifetime of trying. WW this time. I also don’t eat breakfast, just coffee.😊 It allows me to not feel guilty during my struggle time after work when I tend to use the equivalent of a typical number of breakfast points. And I’m just not hungry for breakfast! You have excellent advice, especially about not working so hard to find ‘loopholes’ but finding how to make it a new, healthy delicious lifestyle! I worry about those who are happy to know they can eat a whole cheesecake for 1 point.😉 By the way, I’m a fellow Canadian ww’er!

I watched a video where someone was mixing sugar free pudding with 0% yogurt and some other kind of processed food and that's what I'm trying to stay away from and put nutritious food in my body instead and form different habits.
Congratulations! I am so proud of you. I have become Ketogenic! Following the Keto lifestyle! I lost 17 lbs in 6 weeks, but then had a LOT of carbs during Christmas, so I'm just now getting back to Keto. I love it because I have a ton of inflammation in my body, and Keto brought it down so much!! When I was out of Ketosis, I started having really bad pain again, that my meds could not touch!! As soon as I came home from Christmas in Florida, I went back onto Keto and I am already feeling better. I believe I have a Gluten allergy or something, but Keto really helped with the inflammation in my body, AND I had great results with weight loss. My sister has lost 75 lbs with Keto and my cousin lost 65! So, we have a family history with it being successful for weight loss and for my sister and I who both have Arthritis and other conditions that cause inflammation and this way of eating has given us the BEST relief. I will be eating Keto for the rest of my life....I'll eat things I want once I get into maintenance mode, like an occasional treat of sugar, but I know that I may pay consequences. You Rock!!! Keep up the good work!!!
That's awesome Beth! I know Keto works so well for many people. For me it wouldn't work with my lifestyle and my "all or nothing" and "make one mistake and fall off the wagon" mentality. I'm so happy for both of us!
Beth Wade I’ve tried Keto for about 6 weeks now but I feel like I’m doing it wrong. I’ve watched sooooo many videos. Keeping up with calculations are so confusing. Weight watchers seem much easier. I wish I knew exactly what I can and can not eat.
@@mrs.davis3553 There is a lot to learn for Keto, and it all depends on your body too. Some people, for instance can eat until they are full of any approved Keto food...me, I have to count calories. There are a ton of videos on RUclips. I highly recommend watching Dr. Eric Westman for the best information!
Beth Wade I think that’s what I have to do on Keto is count calories. I have the ketone sticks and it shows I’m in Ketosis but I think I eat to much protein

Thank you for your video. I too am doing WW and am doing it with whole foods in mind. I do not want to fill my body with "franken-food" to lose weight. I would rather have less of a whole food than eat something that is made with chemically generated ingredients. Thanks for sharing your journey and for helping me with mine.
So agree with your tips - good wholesome food. That's what I'm doing and having great success (here in Australia). Love the Freestyle Program cos you can do it so easily when going out.

I think that's fair - I think it used to be more of an issue on weight watchers years ago when fibre would reduce points so people would make products loaded up with fibre in order to reduce points.

BEST video I have seen on WW! I am considering signing up but I am confused by the differences (green/ blue/purple); which one will be best for me. I would like to drop 15-20 lbs. Like you, I don’t eat breakfast or I eat it much later. My main focus is on eating whole food and the least processed. However, I don’t eat any meats; I do eat eggs and dairy. Would WW freestyle work for me? I would appreciate any advice! Thank you 😊
I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond Water Lily. For me the blue plan works because I don't overeat lean protein and it helps to get a push to eat more (lean proteins are 0 points on the blue plan). With not being a meat eater it may be that green or purple is better as it would give more flexibility. I think when you start now there is a quiz to help you choose what plan is best but I definitely would recommend WW overall.

I haven't joined yet...Still thinking about it...But one of my problems is I have MVD with my heart and I can't exercise at all but I do have 35 lbs. to lose...So do you think the free style would be the best for me??? By the way I really enjoy your video.... Wendy
ww doesnt work for me as I am severely limited in veg and fruit intake due to a gastro disease. So i calorie counted- very hard to lose weight- got my subclinical hypothyroidism sorted, continued to count calories (not crazily- eat around 16000-17000 a week) - dont cut carbs and started using a desk cycle doing around 8-25 miles a week. Lost 23lbs in 5 months and 18 of them in the last 2 months. the biggest shift i have had is i dont weigh myself often (4-6 weekly) and if i go over my calorie intake on friday with 2 days to go, I still eat what I want and count it and accept it is what it is. I d not beat myself up. Was seriously shocked when I went to gp, the nurse weighed me 3x to make sure.
Is all about calories!! The calories you eat and the calories you burn, you can call it points,farts or dogs if you want! I guaranty yo that you will recover all the weight and more!
Great, great advice. Not "gaming" the system, eating good for you foods and eating when you are hungry. Good tools for life. Loved your video. Nice to see some common sense in your approach, which I think is lacking form so many ways of eating. Keep up the good work! I would like to see how you incorporate foods that are not zero points into your daily/weekly eating to see if this plan would be doable for me. Thanks!
Sorry for the delay in replying Susan. I'm planning on making more videos but generally I try to eat 5 points or less at lunch (incorporating lots of zero point foods) so I have lots of flexibility at dinner and generally make lower-carb dinners but with higher points. So a curry or something with beef or a stir fry with some more fats and oils.

When I have a breakfast in the morning it’s either that I’ve slept in and it’s the weekend or I feel like I’m forcing myself to have something. So I decided just to have my coffee and listen to my body.

Love this video! Question: I was told that you can only go to one meeting per week. I had the same issue, the group that fits my schedule is full of 65+ year old women. I felt so out of place that I stopped going. I ended up letting my membership expire, but I repurchased recently but with digital only.... debating going back to both.

I just started WW again last night and im on day 1 and I feel like im starving to death lol I need to lose 25lbs and im documenting my journey as well. I struggle with binge eating
I just got my 25 lb charm at my last meeting so I'm sure you'll get there! I struggle with binge eating too and I find the key is the zero point foods. Make a spicy chili with lots of beans and ground turkey and veggies. Have lots of veggies. Carrot and celery sticks with dip made from 0% yogurt. That's how I stay full.

Hi, I just subscribed to you for the WW Freestyle videos. I just started WW (I am using the app only) a few days ago and I am getting up to speed on the program and ideas on how to eat. So far, I am enjoying it and in 3 days, I already lost 2 lbs. For me, it is a huge change in thinking about how I eat. I love carbs and pastas etc and I am beginning to understand the types of choices I should be making when choosing what to eat.
I'm so glad this video was helpful. I'm posting a video tomorrow on how to stop binge eating (or just off-plan snacking).

I'm so glad you found my channel Sandra! Black and white thinking is such a problem. I've also had to refocus down to just having good days on plan so that I don't feel that I've I've "blown" my week I can just do whatever. Sometimes it's such a struggle to battle that kind of thinking!
This is EXACTLY my mindset on this new program. The all or nothing and why My fitness pal was no longer working. I learned to cheat mfp or would get bummed I was out of cals and quit. Same for the breakfast, snacking, and trusting the system and not overthinking it. At least until I revamp my ways of eating. I want to learn for the longterm.
And the chili!!! I made a huge batch of turkey and ate for days. Lost 3.2 that first week

I started on the 10th & I’m down 6 lbs already! I LOVE WW! It works so well for me. I just feel so much better & my clothes fit me so much better already.
I'm surprised that it's working so well for me because I feel like I'm getting better results than anything I've tried before. I'm not complaining though (and hopefully not jinxing myself)!

Hi Melissa i'm thinking of starting WW this week. Mainly for health reasons both physical and mental. I'm really tired of all the doctor visits and prescription meds that are helping me cope with life and my body as it is right now. I'm ready to lose weight because i know i will benefit healthwise. Also i'm feeling that if i'm spending less on medications then i'll save a lot of money. I also live in Canada.

I remember being so scared the first week. What I told myself was to think about how I physically felt. I bet you feel better, healthier, good about staying on plan. Even if there is no change in the scale isn't it worth it to feel like that? That takes the power away from the scale and changes it to how you really feel.

I’m approaching goal after a loss of about the total you have in mind and a lifetime of trying. WW this time. I also don’t eat breakfast, just coffee.😊 It allows me to not feel guilty during my struggle time after work when I tend to use the equivalent of a typical number of breakfast points. And I’m just not hungry for breakfast! You have excellent advice, especially about not working so hard to find ‘loopholes’ but finding how to make it a new, healthy delicious lifestyle! I worry about those who are happy to know they can eat a whole cheesecake for 1 point.😉 By the way, I’m a fellow Canadian ww’er!
Hi Barbara - so glad you found my channel and it sounds like we have similar approaches. I watched a video where someone was mixing sugar free pudding with 0% yogurt and some other kind of processed food and that's what I'm trying to stay away from and put nutritious food in my body instead and form different habits.
Congratulations! I am so proud of you. I have become Ketogenic! Following the Keto lifestyle! I lost 17 lbs in 6 weeks, but then had a LOT of carbs during Christmas, so I'm just now getting back to Keto. I love it because I have a ton of inflammation in my body, and Keto brought it down so much!! When I was out of Ketosis, I started having really bad pain again, that my meds could not touch!! As soon as I came home from Christmas in Florida, I went back onto Keto and I am already feeling better. I believe I have a Gluten allergy or something, but Keto really helped with the inflammation in my body, AND I had great results with weight loss. My sister has lost 75 lbs with Keto and my cousin lost 65! So, we have a family history with it being successful for weight loss and for my sister and I who both have Arthritis and other conditions that cause inflammation and this way of eating has given us the BEST relief. I will be eating Keto for the rest of my life....I'll eat things I want once I get into maintenance mode, like an occasional treat of sugar, but I know that I may pay consequences. You Rock!!! Keep up the good work!!!
That's awesome Beth! I know Keto works so well for many people. For me it wouldn't work with my lifestyle and my "all or nothing" and "make one mistake and fall off the wagon" mentality. I'm so happy for both of us!
Beth Wade I’ve tried Keto for about 6 weeks now but I feel like I’m doing it wrong. I’ve watched sooooo many videos. Keeping up with calculations are so confusing. Weight watchers seem much easier. I wish I knew exactly what I can and can not eat.
@@mrs.davis3553 There is a lot to learn for Keto, and it all depends on your body too. Some people, for instance can eat until they are full of any approved Keto food...me, I have to count calories. There are a ton of videos on RUclips. I highly recommend watching Dr. Eric Westman for the best information!
Beth Wade I think that’s what I have to do on Keto is count calories. I have the ketone sticks and it shows I’m in Ketosis but I think I eat to much protein

I"m so sorry - I'm not 100% sure about the lipstick. It may be OFRA liquid lipstick in Verona - that's one of my fave's recently.
Thank you for your video. I too am doing WW and am doing it with whole foods in mind. I do not want to fill my body with "franken-food" to lose weight. I would rather have less of a whole food than eat something that is made with chemically generated ingredients. Thanks for sharing your journey and for helping me with mine.
So agree with your tips - good wholesome food. That's what I'm doing and having great success (here in Australia). Love the Freestyle Program cos you can do it so easily when going out.

You have to make this plan work for you. We are all different. I'm a loophole person because I feel like I'm deprived if I don't.
I think that's fair - I think it used to be more of an issue on weight watchers years ago when fibre would reduce points so people would make products loaded up with fibre in order to reduce points.

BEST video I have seen on WW! I am considering signing up but I am confused by the differences (green/ blue/purple); which one will be best for me. I would like to drop 15-20 lbs. Like you, I don’t eat breakfast or I eat it much later. My main focus is on eating whole food and the least processed. However, I don’t eat any meats; I do eat eggs and dairy. Would WW freestyle work for me? I would appreciate any advice! Thank you 😊
I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond Water Lily. For me the blue plan works because I don't overeat lean protein and it helps to get a push to eat more (lean proteins are 0 points on the blue plan). With not being a meat eater it may be that green or purple is better as it would give more flexibility. I think when you start now there is a quiz to help you choose what plan is best but I definitely would recommend WW overall.

ww doesnt work for me as I am severely limited in veg and fruit intake due to a gastro disease. So i calorie counted- very hard to lose weight- got my subclinical hypothyroidism sorted, continued to count calories (not crazily- eat around 16000-17000 a week) - dont cut carbs and started using a desk cycle doing around 8-25 miles a week. Lost 23lbs in 5 months and 18 of them in the last 2 months. the biggest shift i have had is i dont weigh myself often (4-6 weekly) and if i go over my calorie intake on friday with 2 days to go, I still eat what I want and count it and accept it is what it is. I d not beat myself up. Was seriously shocked when I went to gp, the nurse weighed me 3x to make sure.

Is all about calories!! The calories you eat and the calories you burn, you can call it points,farts or dogs if you want! I guaranty yo that you will recover all the weight and more!

Great, great advice. Not "gaming" the system, eating good for you foods and eating when you are hungry. Good tools for life. Loved your video. Nice to see some common sense in your approach, which I think is lacking form so many ways of eating. Keep up the good work! I would like to see how you incorporate foods that are not zero points into your daily/weekly eating to see if this plan would be doable for me. Thanks!
Sorry for the delay in replying Susan. I'm planning on making more videos but generally I try to eat 5 points or less at lunch (incorporating lots of zero point foods) so I have lots of flexibility at dinner and generally make lower-carb dinners but with higher points. So a curry or something with beef or a stir fry with some more fats and oils.

This is great! Hoping to start soon. Looking for some accountability as far as food goes. I have no problem working out. But eating has always been a problem for me. I think I need some support.
Going to meetings helps me - it might take some trial and error to ding the right meeting.
I'm not hungry in the morning either. My first meal is usually around 12:15 pm and I have dinner at 6. I have a snack at 3 and 9 pm.
When I have a breakfast in the morning it’s either that I’ve slept in and it’s the weekend or I feel like I’m forcing myself to have something. So I decided just to have my coffee and listen to my body.

Love this video! Question: I was told that you can only go to one meeting per week. I had the same issue, the group that fits my schedule is full of 65+ year old women. I felt so out of place that I stopped going. I ended up letting my membership expire, but I repurchased recently but with digital only.... debating going back to both.
