I'm just getting back into my airbrushing and years ago I remember seeing somewhere that window cleaner was a cheap alternative to the big brand name cleaners so I was using that.
great advise .. especially the plastic cup idea.. I went out and bought a collapsible washing up bowl used for camping to carry out all my flushing into, but the plastic cup idea is just as good and doesn't take up as much space.
Found out the hard way when I dismantled to clean took an hr to figure out how to put it together again but A ok now I know how they work but as you've said keep it simple no need to strip down completely 😉😉
Keeping it simple, ok..but keeping it cheap is another ballgame, the price of airbrush paints is insane, especially if like me your a complete newb and not earning from airbrushing.. i'm still at the learning trigger control stage😂which i'm not finding too easy ..At the moment i've only got 9 x 60ml paints from Createx, i tried to get the same brand that Dred uses but couldn't find any suppliers , and Createx seemed to be ok according to various youtube airbrushers, but what i don't understand is why are airbrush paints so expensive, at this rate it will take me a eternity to get a decent range of colours buying a couple a month, every time i watch one of Dreds videos i keep finding myself looking at the insane amount of paints he has and then looking back at mine in despair 😅. In fact the whole paint thing i find confusing, what with opaques, transparents, pearlised, metallics etc, how do you know what you need and which one to use and when..If my dreadlocks weren't over 6ft long and kinda important to me, trust me, i would be pulling my hair out.....ha ha..
Hi Robert to keep your cost down as a newbie buy cheap artist acrylic and thin it down if your practicing on paper 👍then save the good stuff for better projects later on
