I just got my first few montipora frags. So far so good. I love that my LFS has $10 frags so you don’t lose a huge amount of money if things go south
I picked up that exact sMe pink with green spores today. Looks so good! Polyps opened up withtin 2 hours of bringing it home and adding it to my pico. Also got some mystery super bright colored zoas hitching on the frag plug, love it
Awesome! Yeah, it’s a real looker!
@@Reefer_Matt yea loving the color. Spores full open today! Was warned it can grow quickly
It’s been a medium grower for me. My colony is about 2 years old. But even if it grew faster. It is definitely one of the nicer looking ones to have, imo.
Great video 👏🏻 🙌🏼
Thank you!
Tropic thunder was my fattest grower till i started adding A and K ellements now my capri red as over took in growth and dropped water change to bi weekly mine are on racks and growing up glass
Nice! 😁👍
gorgeous tank! What is name of the yellow coral?
Thank you! That would be 24k Leptoseris.
TY Sir!!! love love your tank
My montipora fell face first into the sand bed and started bleaching a bit do you think it will die ?
I’ve had pieces of monti in my tank do the same. They bounced back after a few weeks. Putting it in a lower par spot then gradually moving it back can help it reacclimate to the lights.
I am considering some monti cap for my Nano tank. I like how it looks when it is attached to the glass. Can you recommend how to get it to attach to the glass and possibly recommend where to place it. I was thinking lower in the back corner of my tank to give it some room to grow upwards. I realize this coral doesn't stop growing but how do you frag it? Just snap a piece off or would a pair of bone cutters be a better choice?
A dab of gel super glue should hold it to the glass. Try to find a flat spot on the frag and put the glue there. It will be vertical for a while, but should grow horizontal shelves again. To frag, just grab a piece between your fingers and snap off like a potato chip. Then the new frag can be glued to a frag plug, or placed elsewhere in the tank. Good luck, and Happy Reefing! 😁
@@Reefer_Matt Thanks for your response. I got my strawberry Monti cap, RR Golden Rod & JF TNT Anacropora. on Thursday. It came glued to a frag plug. I wasn't crazy about that but didn't want to risk damaging it by trying to remove it. I ended up putting it on a vertical part of the rock work. I hope this wasn't a mistake. I am thinking if I can keep it fragged it should be fine.
It's funny that you showed some beach bum and crazy-t together. I bought a frag of both of them online once and mistakenly had the two identities reversed up until the day they died.🤷🏾♂
I had a small frag of the crazy t colored up, but sold it at the last frag swap. I will color these up and feature them during a video about coral coloration in the future. Thanks for watching! 😁
With a tank that mature you should be having more subs. People are sleeping on you.
I am okay with people not subscribing, as I am here to share reefing, and not an aspiring youtuber. I do this for fun and like to talk with reefers from around the world about their tanks. Thanks for watching, and Happy Reefing!
