One Punch Man is a comedic parody of a lot of superhero stories and specially the Nekketsu genre. This anime tells the story of Saitama, a guy that is simply just SO strong that literally there's NO enemy he doesn't kill from just one punch. Although the story doesn't sound pretty interesting, the characters are absolutely charismatic and drive the story by themselves, the comedy is so good and the animation is awesome too. Is a really light and easy to watch anime but is SO GOOD! I really recommend it!

@@BenBenReacts thats also why there are so many villains. with batman, he has a set villain roster, that get put into arkham and escape from there on a regular basis. OPM villains only show up once.

@@SukunaandgojopincaleofjjkThey are different stories. Garou goes for a more traditional story arc of the anime dude that overcomes challenges and gets stronger and stronger. You could say that technically speaking Garou is the classic protagonist. Despite all of the issues.
Saitama's story is more about... Depression, I guess? Meaninglessness? The guy is completely lost and aimless at the start of the show, unable to do what he always wanted: fight the villains and do cool stuff. Because he is literally too strong.
Notice how all of the cool things in Season 2 are centered around Garou and other characters, while Saitama is doing whatever. Failing at video games. Dude is struggling, but with way less flashy things.
Manga readers also thought it was light hearted 💀

Saitama isn’t a superhero or a person with superpowers, he’s simply a dude who worked out so much he broke his limiter and broke past what’s possible for a normal human

Having Saitama's name genuinely be "One Punch Man" is probably a bit more creative than just having him be named after the prefecture he's from!

Tbf i didn't like op 1 at first but it grew on me so much and now i love it

Dont try to read into it too much from openings and endings. You've gotten everything wrong. Its a parody show so u wont get anything from the OP and EDs. Just watch it and u will love it.
The thing I find really funny about one punch man (this is all my understanding so might need to fact check) is that the actual original artist was so bad at drawing and character design that they had to hire better people to do the art. You see many instances of his art in the show like how you mentioned his chill side and badass side. The chill side is his original design and the badass one is the new redesign.
That's not entirely true, the original author (ONE) was an alright artist and he use to publish one punch man chapters as a webcomic in the Japanese website in his free time and it started getting attention and it also caught attention of Yusuke Murata one of the best manga artists of all time and he offered to draw for him and create a manga together at shone jump and they are still continuing together and webcomic is still written by ONE occasionally
although not entirely wrong, I would like to add that the author (ONE) is more a writer than an artist. Murata, the actual artist, liked the webtoon ONE made and adapted the manga. then it got the anime. so they didnt necessarily hire "better" people, Murata just had the talent and the interest to pick up OPM

I dont think your first anime should be one piece, start watching shorter mainstream shows and if you want to watch one piece, watch it once in a while is good. Recommendations: demon slayer, opm, chainsawman, mob pscychco, jjk, aot, dr stone, jojo
I can totally see that. I’m enjoying One Piece, but I find it easier to watch when I mix in other shows too like I’m doing right now with Vinland Saga. I wish I could watch all these shows at once, seems like there’s so many great ones out there.

One punch man is a seinen action comedy the anime is way more deep that it's look like and focus more on his characters it's super silly but very cool but I want to add that the season 2 animation can't be compared to the first one and the pacing is way too fast.

I prefer season 2 better than season 1 because I am more into the story aspect and the animation is sligthly less better than season one so I don't see the issue
