  • Adam is a 1983 TV Movie based on the real-life murder of Adam Walsh. Adam was abducted from a Sears in Hollywood, Florida, and found dead days later. Adam's abduction occurred while his mom was shopping in scenes recreated for filming in Houston, Texas. While it is not portrayed in the movie, the boys playing at the Atari Kiosk next to Adam were kicked out of the store for fighting. Adam was thought to be with the boys and escorted outside the store with them, where he was kidnapped.
In the wake of Adam's death, his parents became deeply involved in organizing information-sharing groups on kidnapped children, improving responses and policies, and eventually helping to create Code Adam. His parents also helped create this movie, and his father would eventually go on to create and star in the TV Show America's Most Wanted, which used similar information-sharing methods to catch criminals of all types.
