The willy Wonka set is a great example of why you should not use 'and' in your searches or titles. It forces the search to include the words following it. If you leave that out it pulls up listings with and without chocolate factory
Very helpful info! 😊 A note to keep in mind- you can only run sales if you have an eBay store. If you’re only doing listings without a store, you cannot. 😊 Makes having a store worth it.
I wish I had had this video two years ago when I was tentatively preparing to start selling on eBay! These are so many of the questions that I had and couldn’t find cohesive answers in one spot. Thank you, Margaret.
I have just started trying to sell some of my items and wood projects, and you answer the very questions that I have. I have gotten some views on my items, but haven't sold anything. Maybe that will change as I put in place some of your suggestions. Thank you.
Just now at the WW Itty Bitties comps search part and … first … thank you for the tips. It gets confusing and frustrating. Running into this a lot where I'll finally find an eBay item in Google search or in eBay's similar listings, but that eBay's search function won't show. Even matching fewer words. This is something they need to improve for the benefit of both buyers and sellers.
I’ve been selling under a year and this has some great tips. I recently went through all of my oldest listings and found some crazy errors like somehow there was no shipping option chosen or I hadn’t turned on require immediate payment or had missed key words. Also sadly a lot of them had comps that had been selling for less recently than what the original comps were. It’s always good to go back to check those that are sitting.
Good information Question What do you suggest when your item is not selling, but you have already reduced it as as low as you can? I have lots of stuff like that. Happy thrifting. 😊
Hi! Well, Either I'd look over my listings for errors and improve photots, then consider lotting items ups, or just leave them alone and keep chugging forward and keep listing
I’ve notice ebays search can be very specific and picky. Order of title keywords matters too. But once users are in a search result and use filters from the left side it will re establish priority of keywords to those filter db tables. Far more specific to search criteria of the buyer and less random results. Does eBay promotions get you listed on google results? I haven’t looked for my items yet.
I’ve only used free shipping for a couple of items and got burned I no longer off it. However I will offer free shipping on big ticket items however I turn off offering it to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and military bases
Some people are very literal so putting and The Chocolate Factory may confuse potential buyers. Though we all know it's the title of the movie I can see someone thinking it comes with a chocolate factory.
I came to the conclusion ebay is just for Americans, as a Canadian on the East coast, ebay is nothing but a money sink, grabbing over 50% of everything I sell, impossible to make above 50% ROI if am lucky. This shipping scam of theirs is well hidden when you start, once you sell they lower the hammer on you, some of my items ending up losing me money due to all the fees and taxes and hidden costs... I gave it a go, but am basically throwing in the towel...
As a seller and a buyer, I have always felt you are paying for shipping one way or the other - nothing is truly free!
So true!! Thanks for watching!

I am trying to sell an original decorative piece of pottery. What would you recommend?
Etsy might be a good place
I can apply this information to my facebook marketplace
@Laurie804, Totally!!
Are there any hidden fees you have to pay to Ebay or to venues such as PayPal after the sale and payment from the buyer has been made?
Ebay is pretty straight forward about the fees
Thank you
You're welcome
Blessings
@GrandmaGingersFarm, :) Thank you very much!! :)
why would you have such a unique item promoted? it's probably on top of list as is?
Definitely something for me to think about
