Your commitment to staying faithful to the arrangement is SERIOUSLY commendable for such a complex free flowing piece as this. I'm seriously impressed as a drummer of 21 years.
This is one of my favorite Opeth songs and when Axe left, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to enjoy this song live ever..but your drumming is awesome! Thank you!
Same, came here after today’s show in Oslo. I’m blown away and SO happy they have a young new drummer behind the kit. Makes me excited for their future!
Omg I Started to really listen to Opeth thanks to this song, is my favourite and this song also made me start to learn how to play keyboards, absoluto beast performance
Dude...amazing! Love these drum cam videos. Your snare control with that chit-chat chatter is just stellar. So happy to see you in the Opeth King throne 🤘!
Again that pure drum sound is just awesome! And your drumming as well, but there's no doubt that you're one of the best drummers out there! Thank you for sharing the one from the gig in Berlin last year! Brings back so many wonderful memories of a truly special evening!
Tremendous stuff, that ride cymbal is monstrous! I agree, this is one of my favourite Opeth songs too! Can't wait to see you guys next March in the UK 👌
So thrilled to be seeing you in North America with Opeth this coming October! You fit in perfectly and they sound better than ever. Can't wait! Those ghost notes are perfection. 👌
After seeing Opeth live a few times over their career and seeing all their drummer line up changes I have to say you have best touch, approach and technique out of all of them. Well I don't count Gene Hoglan (cause he was just doin' a session).
I only just found out about the change in line-up. Looks like Opeth is in safe hands. ps. I love the kick drum on the left, just there to look cool! haha
Hey Waltteri, I'm really loving your drumming in Opeth, but after having heard a lot of your shows from live audience perspectives, I think that you need a heavier ride with a more pronounced bell. Maybe try the Sabian Legacy 22" ride. I just think the current one you have doesn't have enough stick definition and the bell doesn't cut enough. Love your work man. Can't wait for the new album.
Only thing i don't like about Opeth now is the vintage drums sound on live shows. The old heavy songs don't match with it. I liked the tighter drums tuning better, at least for shows. On those latest records, that vintage sound is good tho.
yeah, the sounds are just too different. would probably better and easier to ditch the old stuff completely at this point. the old opeth sadly have died long ago anyway.

I'm glad to see that people are jumping right on board with this guy. His clarity and attack are top tier.
You in Opeth and Teemu in Megadeth… Finland sure can be proud of you two. And Sweden are proud of you too.
🤟❤️🤟

Simply perfect! You made Opeth reborn in so many ways! Looking forward for a next album with your drumming style
I just came back from the Opeth concert in Copenhagen. this drummer is like from another planet. huge respect!

Can't wait to see Opeth when they come back to Australia next. Been my favourite band for over 22 years and counting.

Loving this content!
This song is so damn hard to learn but when you nail it as Waltteri does it's like being on drugs. My absolute favourite drum piece!
Great video 🙏😊
Wow nailed axes style.🤘love this song.
Thanks for uploading these, Waltteri! Is there anywhere we can find your gear setup?

Ajamisprosentit korkeella ja kovulla
hey, where's axenrot? not in the band anymore?
Hasn’t been since 2021
perfect timing & ghost notes, double pedal w/2 bass drums?... I never get that, if it is for visual effect... looks not ok
☹️ P R O M O S M
And here was I thinking death metal would be the end of jazz 🤨
