Wow! This made my day. It makes so much sense that king was moved by the lamb/broadway album/tour. The sharp turns, the emotions, the theater, the energy. It’s all there and very King Diamond like. Thank you for this Dean.
1987 the band “Trouble” opened for King Diamond on the Abigail tour. Amazing tour !!! Megadeath and Metal Church were also on a few of the shows! Trouble was supporting their new album “Run to the Light” they did a video of the title track for MTV featuring drummer “Bill Ward” from Black Sabbath! 80’s Metal Rules!!!!!!!!

I'm a big king Diamond fan since I first heard Abigail in about '88. I even was lucky enough to get king to sign my Abigail vinyl and have been to 7-8 king Diamond/mercyful fate shows
I wondered who it would be haha! I saw Mercyful Fate when they toured 20 years ago and it blew my mind. King is definitely one of my heroes. I will probably miss this tour because of the locations and I'm not working. It just kills me, because I should be there at that show. King is one of the best metal singers. To me he is easily right there with Halford and Dickinson. Thank you so much for the wonderful interview! Stay heavy!
I had that original uncensored Mercyful Fate EP, but unfortunately, I sold it on Ebay about a decade ago. I wish I still had that record! I got it at a record store out on Long Island, NY.
