How ignorant can people be to think throwing anything inside exhibits is a good idea? You should have walked up behind them and thrown "Dad" in the croc exhibit. You know since throwing stuff is ok. I'm glad that you found a keeper to have them removed. Sorry you lost your camera. Just think, when you get it back we can tour the rest of the zoo with you!! 😂😂😂 I love your adventures!

Man, some people. So thoughtless and ignorant. I seen birds and other animals get sick because of stunts like that and even die because of mettle poisoning or chocking on thoes coins. Its someones home for crying out loud! I never liked that practice, but it wouldn't be so bad if people would stick to uninhabited designated spots at least! You should check out the Cameron park Zoo in Waco Texas. It has tentacled snakes and do cardiovascular studies and workshops for orangutans and other great apes.
Great video! the title about tourists caught abusing animals somehow reminded me of headlines I've seen lately about showing gorilla's videos at the Toronto Zoo. I wouldn't think of showing videos to a gorilla generally at all, but it's interesting to think of how that could affect animals to see videos rather than just live their normal sort of habits and whatnot among their species.

@@DavKaufmansAdventures for sure. Maybe you could do a study to see how animals are affected if they have Dav Kaufman videos available to them all day every day vs if they don't have any. It would make more sense than throwing coins on a crocodillian's back.

Hey Dav, most species of macaque display their rump to each other as a gesture of friendship in the hopes of being groomed/humped (platonically). Maybe all those other animals are trying to bridge the language barrier?
I’m so jealous. I live in Scotland and there is only one zoo in the whole entire country and it blows. Plus it’s miles away from where I live. Theres not even a reptile house it. I was absolutely fuming about that.

I've liked the gaboon viper ever since I saw it on Will Nace and Tyler Nolan's channels... then i saw the rhino viper on another video... and because im Filipino i looked into the philippine temple viper. Now im adding that ethiopian mountain viper into my list of beautiful specimens... (venomous snake wise)
That was absolutely beautiful. Gaboons are one of my favorites as well, like an oriental rug made by nature. That one at this zoo was so different looking without the bright colors. Didn’t know there were any like that.

@@DavKaufmansAdventures Saint Louis zoo is my local zoo. If you head that direction I'd love to hear about it, as well as your opinions! It's a historic, more old-fashioned zoo, but there are lots of great things about it. Plus, admission is free!

What an incredible array of reptiles species and displays, awesome stuff! Good on you too Dav for reporting those imbeciles to Zoo staff too, unbelievable that this type of thing still happens in this day and age. Shame on the father setting such a terrible example for his kids too, hopefully they got the message and learn from this.

The lizard pooping was classic! Sadly when I went to the zoo I saw a lot of disrespect and end up leaving with tears. There should be either volunteers or workers in each habitat to prevent this from going on but then again I have seen a zoo keeper doing nothing about the chimpanzees were being mistreated verbally.
One time some guys were letting there son spill water on a stray cat so my sister went up to them and punched one of the guys in the nose and took the cat and now that cat is our pet and her name is Chloe

When you're dealing with the general public there is always going to be s certain percentage of complete idiots. Those coins could kill that creature.
Good job people like that should be put in a cage and people should be aloud to thought stuff at them. People treat the zoo like you would a park or wildlife area leave nothing behind the zoo keepers have a hard enough job let's make their job a little easier.

Went back on higher res- one shot looked like the head and eye being the light grey dot. Another shot looks like rocks. But 🤷♂️.
( I have actually bred firebelly newts and the 2:21 shot looks like a head shot of a somewhat larger version of one of those with smaller eyes.)

We used to tell visitors to the zoo if they are going to throw money at the alligators and crocs to see them move, we insist they use bills. Tens and twenties, please. And then I would lie down, sit back, and use the 11 foot male as a pillow to do the rest of my croc lecture.
You need to tour the reptarium in utica michigan where you can actually physically handle most of the reptiles

If the animal swallowed any of those coins they can block the intestinal tract or cause heavy metal poisoning (the copper pennies, particularly). Either of those scenarios could be potentially fatal. This is not a trivial matter. You're an idiot who obviously knows nothing about the health of reptiles.
I have serious dislike of humans. I'm aware there are good people out there but it seems the ignorant are in the majority these days. What would ever make anyone think that was acceptable behavior? We have a serious problem with a lack of self-awareness and accountability running riot in society.
The only proper place in a Zoo to toss coins is the Donation Box
I hope those kids learn to treat animals with respect and can look at their dad in 20 years and say "Hey, you know that one time you got us kicked out of the zoo because you gave us coins and told us to throw them at the alligator? That's why we dont let you take the grandkids to the zoo."

I’ve pulled the feathers off a flamingo until it was completely bald. I always take the peacock feathers and fill the monkeys belly’s with coins.

I think that I need to visit the LA Zoo again sometime. I haven't been there in ages and I remember it being a bit run down and old, particularly when compared to the San Diego Zoo. But their reptile house looks mich nicer than San Diego's.
The next time you're in CA, Dav, you should check out the Big Bear zoo. It's a small zoo and I don't know if they have a reptile house, but all of their animals are local rescues, all except for a pair disable Snow Leopards.All of their animals from from the Big Bera area and are either somehow disabled and can't be returned to the wild or are being rehabilitated before being returned to the wild. But the really cool thing is that they offer, or at least they did years back, a night tour of the zoo where you get to see nocturnal animals active in their enclosures.

One time in like 1989 I went to the zoo with my friend and we thought it would be fun to take acid. So we both took a hit of acid and we walked around and luckily we didn’t go into some story in our heads about how it was sad that the animals were in there locked up weatherwise. It might’ve been a very bad trip but we both had a lot of fun and we couldn’t stop laughing the whole time because the animals look really funny when you’re high on acid. And we went up to the wallaby exhibit or one of the other animals that look like a kangaroo but I’m not sure if it was a kangaroo or not and my friend was just laughing and laughing and I asked why he was laughing so hard, and he told me to look at what the kangaroo was doing. And I kid you not the kangaroo had a stick in its hand and he was rubbing his genitals using the stick and obviously getting off on it! What a crazy day that was😂

Very nice production but I can't figure out why you would spoil it with that intrusive background (or is it foreground) music? It obscures your fun and informative narrative while providing no added value. But don't feel lonely, this issue seems pervasive in YT videos.
Thank you and yeah, that is a problem with RUclips. All of my videos are sound balanced at 12dB but during compression and upload that can get skewed and there’s nothing the creators can do about it.

Music style preference varies so widely among YT consumers it will never please them all, and probably only a minority in general. That out of the way, I really enjoy your style and content.
Some 30 years ago as a kid I would go to a renowned reptile zoo in Pennsylvania where during the crocodilian show they would actually encourage you to do that and even had a joke saying that they had a money back guarantee and if your wish didn't come true you are welcome to come in and get your coin back. I haven't been back in ages but hopefully they no longer condone those practices
