Okay yeah, cool, I love sobbing at a RUclips video. This project is amazing. Bringing our people, our kainga together like this, is so impactful. Malo 'aupito for showing this.
Beautiful and emotional video ! What if Austronesians originated from Mainland Asia ? Why would the huge area of Pacific Islands be peopled only by Taiwanese Indigenous tribes ? Polynesians could also come from other places such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Mainland Southeast Asia. Because there are still Austronesian Indigenous tribes living in Mainland Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos). With my respect and love for Taiwanese Indigenous tribes and Austronesian cultures.
Taiwanese people weren't originally Asians , the taiwan people were conquered by the Chinese, so Maori aren't Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Mainland Southeast Asia etc.
@@melaroha8003 Well, maybe Maori people are not originating from Asia. But I am sure that Taiwanese Indigenous tribes are Asian people, and before migrating to Taiwan their ancestors probably came from Mainland Asia. Taiwanese Indigenous tribes speak Austronesian languages which are related to languages spoken in Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia...
@@TeaLove747Taiwanese people are the Indigenous Inhabitants of Taiwan, people known as taiwan ilha formosa, for than 8,000 years before the arrival of the "Hun Chinese" In the 17th century. like I kept telling people, Maori does not have those Chinese features neither did the original people of Taiwan. our people came from south America, we did not go from Taiwan to the Polynesian Island and then to the Americas, It was the other way around. our DNA also proves our ancestry comes from the south Americas and Egypt.
@@melaroha8003 Oh, interesting theory. Thor Heyerdahl also had this theory that Polynesians might come from the Americas. Geographically, I would say that Taiwan is in Asia though. Sure, Polynesians do not look like Central or North East Asian people. But since Asia is such a big continent, there is a lot of diversity, not everybody look like "Han" Chinese or "Mongoloid" type. For example, Indians from India are Asians too but they do not look Chinese, neither do Southeast Asians normally look like Chinese, etc... I'm curious to know how would you explain that part of Southeast Asia speak Austronesian languages and share similar ancestors with Mainland Southeast Asians?
@@melaroha8003 Nah your culture and language relate to Taiwan and dna. You guys is still relate with us.Even native american actually is relate with east Asia Siberia.
Korotangi bird found in New Zealand is made from stone of that area. Also in Maori artifacts is what people say is a Kuri (dog) but its clearly a monkey. I dont think theres too much time or space between Taiwanese Aboriginals and Maori at all.
During the neolithic era, proto-Austronesians were also around the region of southeastern China (specifically Fujian) before they migrated to Taiwan. The neolithic Dapenkeng culture which straddles the Taiwan strait from Fujian to Taiwan is evidence of this.
Just why does everything have to be linked to China? Yes, we get it, it's ancient land, but if you wanna go back in time, why stop at the period when the subject was in China? Why not going further and trace back to Africa? Middle Asia? Or are you saying they just appeared in modern day Fujian from nowhere? 😅
@@geofferychang8713 idk, how about you ask their, and which also mine as well, ancestors why did they migrate from southeast/east China to taiwan. Why not go back to Africa? Well maybe because the proto-Austronesians started in southeast/east China and migrated to Taiwan, and didn't start directly in africa? Mind blowing

The Hemudu culture (6000 BCE) was the first and one of the most significant proto austronesian settlements and after that the Liangzhu culture (4500 BCE)!!! The ancestor of them came from Siberia and are probably the same ancestors like the native americans have!!!!!
Yes, true - Genetics don’t lie and all the recent discoveries in Archaeology, linguistics and dispersion of specific plants etc have come along way. The Atayal of Taiwan and the Kankaneay of the Phillipines - the original Lapita people who settled Fiji and Samoa. Melanesian came a little influence came later and then combined they moved out into central Polynesia. Mediterranean, Indian or African (East African) DNA are recorded in some Polynesians but are very old and small percentages.
Not all maori iwi came from Taiwan. My ancestors came from Ta Meri before they migrated to Hawaii ànd the rest of the islands before reaching Aotearoa.
I think the research is still out on this question. But certainly there is some sort of linguistic connection between the indigenous people of Taiwan and Maori.
