Technically no but there's a lot of thrash elements in their songwriting. Also they've done a ton of covers from bands like Kreator, Sepultura, Cryptic Slaughter, Hirax, Repulsion, etc.

At the end of the day it's cool enough that a mainstream celebrity is a metal fan, it does not matter if he doesn't know exactly about different subgenres.
