Fun fact, I did some research. All of the above are used to simulate battle field noises.

This is what Qi is in Chinese traditional instruments. This song called "The Ambush from all sides", the broken sounds means the throwing knives and arrows from the hidden enemy.
It's funny how cultures so far apart have similar approach to string instruments, even in the most extreme techniques. I believe Brett is intensely focused and is quietly observing and absorbing the process; Eddy is sharing his thoughts aloud as they come to mind. Two different personalities make a great team.
I had the honor of hearing the pipa in person back in January of last year. My local philharmonic invited Wu Man to play the pipa concerto, and it was so amazingly breathtaking to witness firsthand.

"It's gonna hurt a bit" will be the famous last words of a beginner in violin.
5:28 LMAO the surprised face when brett finally did it by accident XD
Alrighttt the regarding the 'faked pipa scene', yes it may have been pre recorded but you guys should check out her actual playing! Her name is Pinky or Zhou Jie Qiong or Joo Kyulkyung, and she can actually play very well. :))
Twoset Violin in previous Video: "Learning an instrument in 24 hours is sacrilegious"
Also Twoset:
*_Try_* learning Pipa in one hour
@@keifthys1740 Oh, My bad. Thank You mate
If you can learn it in 24 hours, you can learn it in 1 hour
Wow her fingers moving so swiftly... it's like you can't even see the individual movements.
And here I am trying to flip a pencil in my hand and failing :')
I love how you guys bring forward these instruments! I know education on classical instruments is important, but these instruments are so important!
I’m so glad you guys gave pipa a shot! It literally is THE hardest string instruments to master in my mind. I’ve been playing pipa for 10 years and I still have a long way to go to fully master it 🙄
I appreciate how they show a variety of instruments, especially the ones that aren't normal in orchestras
Wow guys, check out Xinyu's website.
Basically, Xinyu is a prodigy.
Eddy is always curious when they go to masterclasses, always asks many question, Brett sort of stays out, on his own. I feel sorry for him, sort of wanna comfort him a bit, add some confidence. Don’t be shy, Brett, please don’t. We like you confident more)
I think Brett is the type of person who like to learn new things on his own pace, and absord new things quietly, not because of shy or not confident enough. But yeah, still it looks like he stays out too much 😅
I believe Brett is intensely focused and is quietly observing and absorbing the process; Eddy is sharing his thoughts aloud as they come to mind. Two different personalities make a great team.
PLEASE HAVE A PART TWOOO i wonder what the second piece sounds likeee
I was literally holding my breath when she plays. Thanks Twoset for introducing us another great musician! And she sounds Singaporean LOL
I had the honor of hearing the pipa in person back in January of last year. My local philharmonic invited Wu Man to play the pipa concerto, and it was so amazingly breathtaking to witness firsthand.
Listening to her play made me feel like I was watching every kung fu movie I have ever seen. That instrument is amazing.
2:13 if u listen very closely u can hear the among us sound effect that plays when the impostor kills a crewmate!
I think twoset's editor has been playing among us:)
Can you try learning classical guitar? As a guitar player I am a fan of classical guitar and I feel like it's very underrated to classical players.
This, a thousand times this! Preferably with Brandon Acker.
It's a good idea ^^
Yes !
Yes! But they think of guitar as somewhat sacrilegious, would love to hear their thoughts after trying to actually play it lol
@@Poiuytster I would love this so much
I had no idea my country has so many music prodigies.
The pipa is almost like my family legacy at the point. My mom started learning the pipa at 14 with the best teacher in her province but since she started too late she didn't get too far, but was good enough to play both of the pieces mentioned after 20 years.
I love when TwoSet features Asian instruments, they don’t get enough love ❤️
When Xinyu plays:strummnn
When Brett plays: krrrrrrrrk trrrrrk
I am a guitarist, but that will not stop me from admitting that the pipa is MUCH harder and MUCH more beautiful
You look beautiful today they’re both beautiful in different ways
@@Jacob-eq4ld I think for nearly all instruments there is a difference in difficulty for beginners but once you get to a certain threshold mastery is about as hard on every instrument
i’m both a classical guitarist (first) and a pipa-ist.. unlearning guitar fingering and relearn pipa fingering is the most painful of all.. the rasgueado and tremolo are in opposite direction, and left hand technique in pipa is so much more robust
@@CeliaGoh Damn, that is impossible for a lazy potato like me
@@ipsharoy7398 but knowing guitar techniques definitely help me pick up pipa so much faster than any other beginners.. it comes in both ways i guess 😂
The Instruments are So Beautiful - Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous!!!! Thank you for posting this!!!
can i just say that Xinyu is such a nice person and she's so patient and kind and smiling and skilled? she's so amazing T^T
