    • @lawrenceeason8007
      @lawrenceeason8007 5 лет назад +28

      @@mtinfinity7845 it takes years to master. Growling is more than making a noise. It is about sustaining it at volume for concert after concert, and doing it without damaging your vocals. I wouldn't recommend you trying it on any sustained basis without guidance

    • @mtinfinity7845
      @mtinfinity7845 5 лет назад +3

      Lawrence Eason I've looked up a few youtube videos on growling techniques and it comes out pretty smoothly, like I said I'm no expert so I probably don't sound like a professional vocal growler but... Essentially what I've learned is breathing out if your lungs tensing your diafragm and neck muscles and kinda making a U sound but at the same time pronouncing words. I think that technique is pretty easy and doesn't hurt my vocal cords or anything like that

      I agree,but at the same time I think that song is a little too rough for some people that don't listen to heavy music. I think some of their new songs from micro, such as perennial would be a better second song. It's only my opinion, cause that song gets heavy AF in some parts, not that perennial doesn't but I feel it's flows a little smoother in the transitions. Then again I'm nearly blackout drunk commenting on RUclips, wasting my life watching other people watch videos I've already seen a hundred times.

    She was using a technique called "fry screaming" (there are videos of people explaining how it works). It does sound like she's really belting it out hard but actually, it doesn't use hardly any power (the effect just makes it sound like it). She uses very calm and controlled breathing and uses a different part of her throat other than her vocal chords combined with using the shape of her mouth to produce the raspy growl. The rest is just performance act to match it. :)

You could hate everything they ever recorded and it's still cool you find magic in this song. This song is what introduced me to em. I now own two albums on vinyl, so it was impressive enough on the first few listens for me to check em out and commit. But exposure has led to minor boredom for me. That said, I would love for them to do a 'damnation' and record a quiet album. The quiet parts of this song are beautiful. I just get bored of predictable quiet/heavy, quiet/heavy formulaic approach.

  • @kimaniralte836

    This dude is really on a whole different level. His range is ridiculous
    sure but it's not just about that. He's got such amazing control over
    his voice that only comes from years of practice and study. He's doing
    things in this video that the top singers in the world would struggle
    with and he's making it look effortless. In addition to that he's
    singing in a foreign language, that he does not speak, and doing it
    better than some native speakers. The word genius gets thrown around a
    lot these days but there really isn't another that adequately describes
    the depth of this mans' talent.
    It's also my new hobby seeing people react to his performance :)

    She has an evil twin that lives within. Angelic voice one minute then..... demon comes out to play the next!!! She does a fantastic job balancing the transition from one to the other!! Oh and the band perfectly suits her vocal style and is tight as hell! Very ethereal and atmospheric then hard and heavy. Loving the bass players little flourishes thrown in. Tasty!!

    I've watched literally 50 of these reaction videos, but 30 seconds into yours I find myself wondering, as with most channels that have been cropping up lately, what makes you choose metal?
    Edit: When you get around to reacting to more Jinjer, try "Who's gonna be the one" but the live version. Great video and awesome at being open minded!! I love it when people who don't listen to this music see the talent in the music. Love the video.

      I am a metal head but my wife is not. Originally, this was a kpop reaction channel and occassionally I would have my wife react to metal or rock bands to get her into the genre. Sometimes I will do a metal reaction but they are mostly limited to my wife since shes not a fan. And I agree yes, it was actually very entertaining to see her react to this. Ive actually watched our reaction more times than id like to admit.

    I absolutely never get tired of watching people react to this song.
    If you want some other awesome female fronted rock and heavy music, here are a few bands, some that are also mentioned in other comments, without a doubt.
    Nightwish
    The Pretty Reckless
    Paramore
    and my personal favorite...Halestorm
    Check out pretty much anything by any of them. Though if I get a response, there are always song recommendations to be made.

    The best way I can described this is: An angel once swallowed a demon and every now and then, that demon tries to escape.
    I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of growling / screaming. But, in this case, I'm blown away. It fits nicely in this song, it's not over done, she kicks butt at it and, unlike most growling / screaming I've heard, I can actually understand most of the words. After a few more listens, I'll probably pick up the rest.
    Yet another great reaction. Keep up the good work.

    Awesome stuff! Pisces is a great intro to Jinjer for most people. It's one of their lighter songs, and it lulls people in. Most of their songs have a mix of melodic and heavy vocals. You're in luck too, they just released a new EP! 'Perennial' and 'Ape' are my favorites off that, but 'I Speak Astronomy' is a fantastic song from their last album.

    What's interesting is how powerful her growls are but how effortlessly she does it. She does it so well and easily that she doesn't really have any risk of damaging her cords.

      Definitely. It's obvious shes a trained professional singer vs alot of other metal bands in which the leads fuck up their voices bad.

      Its a vocal technique that female vocalist began mastering in the 90s I believe. If I remember correctly, the name for it is "deep gutturals"

    Tatiana has been singing in 8 different bands since she was 15 years old. She was born in the years of Cat (Rabbit), 1987, according to Chinese horoscope and her Zodiac sign is Pisces. As a matter of fact Tatiana tells in this song about her personality, her character. The lyrics of this song are GREAT!
