it's sad to think about but I'm sure the writers had a different vision than the loudest of "fans". pretty much everything in later seasons point to them making dair endgame - the slow/steady buildup, more effort put into their scenes and dialogue and a positive depiction of their mutual trust and respect in contrast to the occasional sleazy hookup scenes between chuck or a guy/blair that kind of show blair having a relapse every now and then from her journey of maturing. I'm sad they did not get to end that character journey like they wished and had to succumb to fanservice, because watching dan and blair learning from each other and finding someone at their level (+that banter!!!) was so wonderful. season 6 was one of the laziest and most forced conclusions to a tv show, so I just pretend it never happened lol.

When i summarize events from season 1 up to 5 there's no doubt in my mind who I approve of to be with B. Dan is simply good for Blair. She is glowing with positive energy whenever she's with him. And Dan's ways of negating Blair's self pity are very effective.The times they were together, Blair hasn't schemed her way into getting wat she wants like that job they had in W (like she always does). But wen Chuck is involved, im alwys afraid that Blair wll get into a mess that'll scar her more.
Number 21 should easily be in the top 3. The set up for it was amazing. The way she walks into his loft like a boss, and the fact that she went to BROOKLYN to get him to help her. That scene is amazing and I hate how the show ruined their friendship in season 6.

They're relationship was ruined by adding a Romantic side to it, their friendship was one of the best on the show.
In every series, there’s a season where the “endgame couple” go separate ways after being horribly toxic and get the girl gets involved with a guy who is a much better person and treats them infinitely better. That man always loses the girl because healthy is presented as boring and lacking in comparison. In Gossip Girl, that couple was Dan and Blair. They went from enemies to friends and then friends to lovers. They had interests in common and differences they respected. They were the real goals of this series. Its a shame the writers threw all that away.

The guy wasn't a total jerk though, he DID feel ashamed of what he did and apologized which is far more than what any immature guy would've done. Give him some credit, it's not like he didn't feel guilty about it.

I really like chair fans who can just state they like Chair as their preference and dont say with bared claws that Dair is a boring pairing and Dan sucks, blair is chucks property and etc.
Coz i was a Chair fan before but i haven't bash anyone who doesn't like them before. I just fangirled with the pairing.I love every character in the show.I'm a fan GG, regardless.

They laugh/joke around, banter and talk about their careers/movies/art with ONLY each other. Serena probably has no clue what movies he's into, and Chuck could give two fucks about what Blair wants to do in life other than be 'his'
I can see why the show's target audience at the time loved Chuck/Blair and Serene/Dan but Dan/Blair seems to be the logical conclusion for both their arcs.

It felt different to see her run that scheme in s6. But i wonder wat change?
I mean, she still dresses as the blair i knew, her demeanor is still characteristically "Blair", but i dont know, d performance felt forced?
Is this leighton unintentionally showing her apparent lack of interest with the plot? I mean, it was so unlike d earlier epi's wherein she's usually all perk up during scheme time.
Or she just fell in love with d Blair of S5 that revisiting her earlier tendencies felt weird nw?

Penn kinda said his sentiments about how d ending shud've been different for his character, lyk d story kinda felt short or unsatisfying.
And Savage is majorly involve in s6, esp. d ending epi. There's still some fight left in me since i havent seen the last epi yet, but yeah, i'm mourning for Dair already... Dan still likes Blair now but he's trying so hard not to show it~ its kinda bittersweet.
yeah so sad. but i think their saving the Dair relationshio by making them friends. Chuck and Blair are really in love with each other..i see them as lovers but i dont seem them as "friends". So i guess, people behind GG would not deny that there was something real behind Dair..so make them friends.
