I remember the debate in 2008 between after Matt Ryan, whether the next best QB would be Joe Flacco, Brian Brohm, or Chad Henne. Yeah... think we all know how that turned out
I know this comment is late in terms of Flacco's playoff run with the Cleveland Browns, but as a long-time Ravens and Flacco fan I can say just how spot in this bio is. Going to Cleveland, I was both happy for his success and upset that he was playing for a Ravens rival, but it proved he still had it. He is perhaps one of the most underrated players of all time having gotten very little love over his career. Other winning quarterbacks like Brady, Manning, Mahomes, Brees, Rogers got so much love ans respect from the fans of other fan bases, yet all Joe did was win and go to the playoffs every year but somehow became the heel in the NFL. Even sub-elite and average QBs like Romo, Matt Ryan, and Eli Manning were more universally loved deapite having arguablely eual or less success. Hisnstory just proves that not every9ne loves a humble winner. and good sport. Winning the SB and getting MVP status didn't xhanfe thar fact much either and any respect wore off like a kid's sugar rush. The fact that he uplifted a hapless Browns and Jets Team as a back up with terrible coaching and limited talent outperforming the starters only tk be cast aside after is also infiriating. My only knockmon hom is his lack of leadership like his elite contemporaries. We caught a glimpse of it when his OC Cam Cameron was fored before Wk10 and he pretty much led the offense himself with Jim Caldwell taking a hands off approach. After that ended up woth a SB victory ans record paycheck he showed little interat on placing rhe team on his shoulders as in the previous season. And it ahowed that he too was prone to a SB hangover.
Whats so crazy about flacco he never really dominated in the regular statistically speaking but when it came to playoff he hit a switch and very hard to beat hes called "january joe" for a reason.
As a Browns fan the night before the playoff game I am freaking out . Kosar in the late 80s early 90s is the last time I have allowed myself this kind of hope. As a Browns fan hope is a very dangerous thing but man it feels really good. Thanks Lauren this was a wonderful Video
@@stern12akachris32/ It don't matter if it was a different year, it was the first year the Browns were in the playoffs since 2002... Just to win a playoff game brought the Browns one play from being in the AFC Championship game...🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Great video. I’ve gotta mention that for 16 years I thought Troy Smith was the projected starter, and Flacco was behind him. Until Troy Smith got ill and the Ravens were basically forced to start him in Week One. Him and Matt Ryan’s rookie seasons broke the mold on rookie QBs. Until then it was basically unheard of to bring out your rookie QB from the jump. It was cool seeing two rookies start week one. Ever since, for better or worse, it’s the norm to start your rookie immediately.
Great video! I really enjoyed watching! As an Ohioan Im definitely rooting for him to win tomorrow afternoon / evening. I always liked him with Baltimore and it was fun going back and revisiting his time there.
Just staryed watching your content and gotta say, i enjoy these vidoes. I recall watching somine on IG do a skit of the browns signing Joe Flacco, and after watching this video, there is a reason he got come back player of the year
The media and sports writers and RUclipsrs where everybody has it wrong, and even the title of this video, there was no fall of Joe Flacco; a dude just got injured, but when he was at Denver and New York Jets, he played very well. The receivers were garbage and would drop the ball or tip it in the air and would get interceptions over and over again. Also, the two offensive lines on both those teams were horrendous, some of the worst in the NFL when Flacco played at both teams. Everybody wants to go after Flaco and say he was horrible those years when, in actuality, it wasn't his fault, but this is the way the world and the internet are.
Flacco has been impressive this year. It’s good to see him bounce back this year after all this time. God is good! Proud of him! Never stop putting in the work.
To be fair, offensives around Joe Flacco ever since he left the Ravens were dog shit. This is arguably the best team Joe Flacco has played with in his entire career.
I love your videos! You’re so underrated! You’re the best at doing in depth football analysis! Can you do a video about Nick Saben? I’m a die hard Alabama fan and it would mean the world to me! Keep up the good work! God bless!
Flacco missed the playoffs after superbowl because they got rid of Antwon Boldin. And 2 best defensive guys retired and bunch other players. It wasn’t the same team. Ravens never got him weapons, Steve smith was injury prone.
As someone who defended Flacco for years I can honestly say, he was NOT elite. He was good and just good enough, but he could not carry the offense on his own which is what an elite QB would be able to do. Still got a SB win though, and the mile high miracle will never be forgotten. Even playing for the Browns I loved watching Flacco play and was cheering for him.
The fact that he went through Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady on the way to his Superbowl run is legendary. Man was elite during that playoff run
Get the story strait flacco didn’t have a kicker his rookie year. Hushminzata dropped a pass and missed felid goals. U missed a year. Got them backwards. It was manning knocked him out.

Brian Brohm the guy who was the backup plan for the Packers incase Aaron Rodgers ended up being bad?
He the only one with a ring
Henne has 2
But not as a starter
I remember when people thought Flacco was elite.
Joe " don't call it a comeback I been here for years" Flacco

YOOO THANK YOU FOR MAKING A VIDEO OUT OF MY IDEA
So did J&D Productions 😊
Love these breakdowns Lauren! Your channel is soooo good! Keep up the great work, would love to see Flacco make a deep run this year with the Browns!
Thank you so much Cyrus! Hope you are doing well!!!
@@SheGotSports I would be doing better if my Dolphins didn't finish the way they did, haha! all good, could be worse, I could be a Cowboys fan! lol

I remember this his first touchdown was a rushing touchdown
Yeah basically Smith was gonna replace Boller but then he got tonsillitis!

Saying he fell isn’t saying he was some terrible player, but he most definitely wasn’t the same Joe
😂 you can’t be serious. Maybe Flacco was carried by others and was actually never elite
I really dig your energy. Thanks for the great content

Good video Lauren thank you so much for making this you’re a genius.
Hey Lauren, are you gonna stream the playoffs game
Yes!
Great video, playoff flacoo is Different. And that why i like joe flacoo

Who tf is Antwon Boldin?
@@firstsurugi5250lol😅 Anquon Boldin? I'm sure you know 1A and 1B of the Arizona Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald being 1A

I'm rootin' for a Browns and Lions SB. That'd be wild! Flacc Attack is back, boyeeeee!
I think Troy Smith was Baltimore qb his rookie year. He got sick and Flacco got the job
Smith had some kind of serious throat nfection
Great video Lauren 📹
good video

Good stuff…keep it up
I h8 joe Flacco cause that 2012 season from beating my 49ers but aye it’s alright🫤
As a lifetime browns fan, I’m praying today. Take us to the promised land, Joe!
Yea lol 6 d1 schools arent scouting you as a tip 40 qb in the country without you knowing it.
Stay safe and stay warm 😊 Lauren
Flacco should never lose job with Ravens 2019 Lamar still beast wildcat with finest stats
That’s crazy bro flew economy 😂😂
JOE FLACCO # 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After every game.."This is his best performance yet" lol
The fact that he went through Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady on the way to his Superbowl run is legendary. Man was elite during that playoff run
I love the sick crackly voice.
I thought it was the Ravens picking a younger, better quarterback named Lamar Jackson.
Playoff Flacco is different.
Get the story strait flacco didn’t have a kicker his rookie year. Hushminzata dropped a pass and missed felid goals. U missed a year. Got them backwards. It was manning knocked him out.
You getting paid to critique...🤔🤔🤔 Her point still got across, nobody is perfect right...??
My Broncos had to be stupid and unload Flacco because he called out the coaching staff and hurt Fangios feelings.
As a broncos fan, I somehow forgot he played for the Broncos haha. Getting Peyton Manning just means 10 years bad luck I guess
What Fall?
This one
Let's go Delaware #302
I always like ole Joe Flacco. He seemed like a ok dude. Side note, your transition is moving right along. Except for that hairline. 😅
Flacco is the far superior franchise QB over Matt Ryan. Flacco could have had multiple rings if not for a botched kick and lee evans butterfingers
Flacco round find out
Why couldn’t you wait til after the playoffs? The browns weren’t successful

You don’t got sports. Your dei bs.
