Hi HappyBerry - just wanted to say thank you - a BIG thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I am brand new to crochet and first tried your easy crochet daisy flower. Next I tried these snowflakes and am addicted. I've made loads. I find your tutorials go at the perfect pace for beginners, are really clear and really hit the right tone. Informative enough without being patronising. Plus you have the perfect voice for tutorials. I even had a go at adding two double crochets on my magic circle, making 14, to enable me to create a 7 pointed snowflake. I'm now addicted to making 7 pointed ones. Thank you so much for your fabulous tutorials. Please don't stop!
U.S.: PVA=Elmer's Glue. Cocktail Sticks = toothpicks! Yay! Thanks for the great tutorial (again). Sweet snowflake and it's always a pleasure to crochet with you. Very clear and soothing. I like that you don't use music!
Thank you for your tutorial. On the third round I kept ending up with 7 loops. So instead of chaining 8 immediately, I slipped stitched twice into the first loop and began with 2 double crochets. Finally got my 6 even loops. Used worsted weight yarn and made a huge snowflake. It's very pretty after I steam blocked it then used watered down glue to stiffen. I'm glad you used US terminology. Thanks again.
HUGE thank you for this, I literally started to crochet yesterday and have followed your flower and ten petal flower tutorials successfully, then I attempted this, it's taken a couple of hours but I did it, YAY!
I love how much information you give. I am making snowflake ornaments for all my daycare kiddos and I can't wait to start now that I am not so overwhelmed thinking I can't do it! Gonna watch some more of your stuff when I am finished!!!
and i thought it is impossible for me to succeed but now i know that with your great ,soft and clear explanations, gives nothing impossible ;) many thanks and blessings
Thank you for your video, very clear instructions, putting snowflakes into Christmas cards as gifts, looking forward to more of your patterns, I am from USA.
If you use stainless steel dressmaker or straight pins, they will not rust - even with glue, as that's what I use & you have a Bit more control over stretching the snowflake when pinning. Also, FYI in America the white school glue is commonly referred to as Elmer's glue 😉 Thank you for an excellent tutorial!
IN AMERICA WE USE ELMER GLUE OR A GENERIC GLUE MADE FROM SAME INGREDIENTS, THANK YOU FOR THIS EASY TO FOLLOW SNOW FLAKE GOING TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS GIFTS.
Really enjoyed this tutorial such fun and just the right speed and information thanks 😊 in my last stitch I did some chain for hanging 20 chain then double back to join .
What an easy way to make a snowflake. Your tutorial was absolutely and beautifully explained without rushing into the demonstration of how to make one. I've already subscribed and liked this tutorial. Its an awesome pattern to put the flakes together and make it into a runner for the table as a Christmas decoration. And I'm kind of thinking of doing that with this. Thanks for an awesome tutorial. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much Mary for your such lovely feedback! I am so happy you enjoyed my tutorial. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and can continue to enjoy my videos (^-^)
Hey HappyBerry Chrochet, I LOVE your crochet videos!!!! I learned from your basic crocheting videos and I also learned from your crocheting a granny square crochet video. And may I just say, you do a great job of explaining it easy!!! And the patterns are great!!!
Just making these for my kiddos teachers as a christmas gift. They are easy and super cute. I did make some adjustments that helped make it a bit neater. When I start row 3 instead of chaining 8 I chain 3 then do 2 double crochet then the chain 5 and 3 more in the same chain and repeat like normal around then at the end I don't have to squeeze in 3 doubles so I slip stitch into the top on the chain 3 and start row 4 by chaining 2 then proceed to do the 2 double crochet in the chain 5 space and so on. I just hated that chain 8 then trying to squeeze in the 2 double crochet when the chain 8 doesn't move so you have 3 squished doubles and the first 3 that use the whole chain 5 space.
Thanks a lot I did couple of snowflakes Thanks for this easy clear tutorial, it looks great when one done with silvery shine yarn Have a wonderful day ❄️
TYVM! I did get a bit lost but managed and I did it!" I made mine too loose so I'll make another tighter and hopefully it'll be more stiff. Your a super good teacher! Again, thank you very much for teaching us this awesome snowflake! D from Tx. 😊
use Mod Podge if you are in the USA like me to harden your snowflake. It dries clear. you can buy it at craft stores (Michaels or joannes, etc) or at select Dollar Tree stores. I used Mod Podge gloss sealer.
Thank you for that great tutorial. It was very easy understandable. Even for a German. :-) At first I was afraid it would be to complicated but it wasn´t. So, thanks.
The glue in US is called Elmer's Glue - one part glue and one part water. I put the solution in a plastic sealable bag, immerse the piece, squish it about, then ring out the excess and pin on your favorite box, foam, etc.
THANK YOU!!! So much. I was looking for a quick, and easy snowflake to attach to presents. I used #10 white cotton thread, and a number 8 crochet hook. Going to use white glue and a little bit of water to stiffen. While it's still wet apply sliver glitter. Again I can't thank you enough for sharing.
Oh that's great! I am so happy you enjoyed my video, I would love to see your finished snowflakes on my Facebook page if you would like to share? facebook.com/happyberrycrochet thank you for your kind feedback :D
I just made this so easy to follow and turned out amazing ! thanks for the tutorial. Now im off to find the glue. I think its called elmers glue in america
Thank you happyberry ☺ I love your patterns, so nice to follow and I've loved crocheting the snowflakes this year. I made lots, and snowflake crowns too. The first rusted and was not pleased lol but I have found a way to stop the pins rusting..I use my glue 50/50 with water so not too stiff and spray my pins with WD before tacking to the foam or polystyrene. No more rust Yay!! Can I still download the advent calender?..would love it.....🤗❄☃️🎉🎅🌲
Can u make a video of how to make a palm tree, and Christmas tree? At least put that on your things to do list, or to crochet, whatever u may call it, if u have one

Elmer's is a brand name for plain white glue. You can find it in any WalMart or craft store.
