In this video tutorial i'm using mercerized cotton yarns called YarnArt Begonia(50g/169m/185yds) of Turkish origin. The hook is 2.7mm (or C/2 in USA size or 12 in Canada/UK size).

Is there a written pattern somewhere that lists the size hook and the type of thread or yarn used?

I am curious if there is a written pattern for this? I generally do better with written pattern....and then could refer to video if I get stuck....am NOT a rank beginner and am fairly good at reading patterns....even ones that are a bit more complex

How come it looks so good already as if yo do not have to block it. Mine is usualy all twisteda and kind of squished. May be the kind of thread you are using.
In this video i use Yarn "YarnArt Begonia" (cotton) 50g/169m/185yds yarns and 2.7mm hook , but you can experiment with any thread. Try to carefully iron your work. I think everything will be fixed up.
