Fiji welcome, friendly people, yes all very true, but it should be possible just to have a friendly chat leaning across the counter of his shop rather than sitting in a hidden corner. Friendliness means openness. And it certainly doesn’t mean making you feel bad about not wanting to partake in the “hospitality”.

The guy at the handicraft in Nadi is with red t shirt is like a con artist or people who bribe with scams and all don’t trust those kind...good thing you left...people other then that Fiji is a very friendly and welcoming place in the world😊🇫🇯
It is good to see most Tourits souvenir shops open again in Nadi. Yeah you good kid always be careful when business people over friendly again like lockdowns just open. It is Nadi sometimes the chauvus want to get married to tourists to run away to Korea hahahahahahaha
Sorry the sitting down offer scared you but traditionally to show respect the Fijians show hospitality through a big bowl of grog sitting down in a circle around it...I guess he wanted to be in a long talk lol...people are shy to be on camera in Fiji but some really enjoy it...
Yeah it is western Viti Levu they always close early even before 2020 because bus services ends early which is the cheapest there. As for other passenger services like taxis minibuses and dinghy so expensive. They always say if you miss the last bus wili duru ni cina ivale hahahahahahaha meaning you walk home counting all the street lights.
Big ups to you for being smart enough to avoid that guy who tried to sit you down for a whatever he said it was. I hope you enjoy Fiji and the people because its a beautiful place. PS when you done with cycling Fiji, try Rotuma island - you can cycle around in 2 hrs but the experience will last for years! :) safe travels !!
