I wouldn’t get it for copying tone. The amp and cabs are really good. But it needs a lot more to justify that price.

Even if you don't like Gojira (and you're on crack if you don't) this one is so unique from the other archetypes that it's worth buying anyway. Chorus, phaser, pitch effects? Yes please
I do fall into that category if I'm honest haha! I just can't seem to really get into the band, but damn this is one hell of a plugin with unique features over all previous.
The whammy and noise gate ALONE is worth the price of this plug in lol

Man, it’s absolutely incredible how good amp sims have become these days. I used to have one from a not so good company that I spent a lot of money on, only for it to sound like the tone was squeezed out of an old sponge. Hearing this one, though, oooh man! It sounds so much like what I’d expect from a genuine amp.
I still think real amps sound generally better, don’t get me wrong. But if somebody showed me something they recorded using this and told me it was a real amp, I probably wouldn’t bat an eye. This plugin gave me that stank face that comes from a good tone.
Real amps sound “better” to my ears, but the surprising thing is that they don’t sound *much* better. The only way I’d ever feel the difference is if I was actually looking for a difference.
Right?! I actually got it for 50% off one week ago along with the Parallax bass plugin, and my jaw dropped to the floor. You can nail any classic or crazy modern high gain tone with this Archetype. I'm amazed it nails my favorite Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails guitar tones from the 90s using only one instance of the plugin, instead of layering 4 or 5 different distortions. Really, excellent plugin. 1,000 thumbs up, Neural!

You can pretty much get a blues tone out of every amp they model by pushing a clean section with a tube screamer it’s pretty amazing

I have a couple of Neural DSP plugins and just got this one today. After several hours of intensive playing & testing in my studio I can safely say if you have this one you don't need anything else...
Maybe next will be Archetype: Nick Jonas, and it includes a black leather jacket for playing solos so you can do the epic Side-leg rocker stance

Big reason why I love gojira is because they are so heavy, so technical, yet their lyrics are not evil at all. Most metal bands are very dark and depressing. Gojira is just obsessed with nature but damn it they are so fucking heavy. 🤘🏽
The whammy pitch shift has really smooth tracking. It sounds better than a Digitech to my ears.

Just tried the free trial. Goddamn, I thought I didn't need another high gain plugin after Nameless but this is it. This is what I felt was missing from Nolly's 5150 .Each amp is stellar. Will pull the trigger when the free trial is over.
100% agree, 2nd day on free trial aswell and absolutely loving this plug in, the clean with that reverb and shimmer, fuckin incredible. will def be purchasing aswell.
My free trial never worked for some reason cuz I don't have a usb for activating even though I tried their granophyre without one

It truly is an epic plugin, applicable to many generes, as well as inspiring one to venture forth on a journey of finding their very own tonal identity. Never have I enjoyed or found digital multi-effects units, etc., to my humble, personal tastes... that is until I tried Neural DSPs plugins. Thank you Neural DSP!

Despite this video being just an ad, it is one of my favorite ones. I love how well produced it was.
I thought I could never justify the cost of a Neural Plugin, and then Black November came along with 50% off, so how could I resist !! I'm a huge fan of Joe's tone but trialled several of their plugins including Plini, Nolly and Cali just to be sure. The Gojira just blew me away and was an easy choice.

This plugin is the complete package if you’re a metal musician. It absolutely slays. Also, you can get some SLAMMING bass tones from it too! Use amp 1 with the distortion pedal and mess with the amp and EQ settings

Same - I have a quad Cortex on pre-order and was hoping there would be a decent picth shift/whammy emulator (as other modelers pitch shifters are ok, but they have thier flaws) on it, but if it doesn't, that alone will make this a worthwhile addition once they patch in the ability to add Neural plugins to it

I've started a free trial and after only 15 minutes of playing with it I decided to purchase it.
How you're able to create such versa, dynamic and authentic sounding plugin is fucking beyond me. Holy shit.
We need a suite for all these releases, that way I can use the whammy from this with the nameless, and put a nolly preamp delay in front of this without opening multiple instances.

No doubt. From a business perspective, charging half the price for their plugins would likely earn them far more money. The sheer number of people that could then afford the plug-in would make up for the price drop.
@@mr.nervedamage7463 Yup... The Misha Mansoor plug in from JST is just as good at LESS THAN half the price and i can't even afford that. In a world of covid what makes Neural DSP think "especially small struggling musicians" have an extra $160.00 lying around for a plug-in. Save the money and spend an evening dialing in your own tones with whatever amp sims your DAW comes with. That is what i have decided. I have more time than money these days.
@@mr.nervedamage7463 Problem is when you look at it, how much money did it cost to develop the software? R&D is almost never paid off by launch and usually rides as a loss for more than a year, then there is Marketing, lawyer fees for deals, licensing, patent costs. They have to recuperate their losses, other DAW plugins may have just been cheaper to develop/This set of options for the Gojira one required extra R&D.
While development costs must always be considered, ultimately you still want to choose the best price to maximize sales. If you charge $160 and only reach 5k customers... you would make less than reaching 10k at $100 for instance.

@@ryanschindler923 I bought a mosfet amp in 1990 and used a tube preamp. I have never owned a tube amp 😳 Fractal Audio made them irrelevant.
@@maschoff69 I wouldn't say irrelevant, I still love the feeling of playing tube amps on stage. But Iv never gotten to plug a axeFx or kemper into a 4x12 cab and mic it into a front of house PA so I can't realistically say how they compare. But for recording no doubt I love using pluggins/amp modelers

Recently used nothing but the presets on a personal project, a metal cover of Liberi Fatali from Final Fantasy VIII on my channel. Was rendering out batches of reamps in real-time to the tune of about 148 individual tracks using my AX8 and was having a real tough time assembling the puzzle a song's length at a time. Once I got Archetype: Gojira, my workflow sped up to the nth degree and I didn't feel like the quality of the tracks suffered at all.

As far as expression pedals, I just use the Fractal Audio ones, regular or mini.
@@maschoff69 A TRS pedal would only be usable if it's connected to a MIDI foot controller or to a usb converter like the one you linked right? Ive been searching for days and all I could find as a stand-alone MIDI expression pedal was the one by beatbars... So my best option would probably be a MIDI foot controller with expression pedals built in, or I'd have to buy multiple products? Sorry for the long question, it's just been bugging my mind a lot.

@@ryanmckinnon6465 hey yeah so the answer is actually literally what I wrote in the previous comment. You gotta either get a converter for a trs pedal or a midi controller with expression pedal built in, or connect an expression whammy to a midi controller.
