Would have been nice to see the lights in use after the job was done. Did you use orange bulb with the white sidemarker reflectors or disconnect the bulb at all? Newer lights with white sidemarker reflector and LED middle marker have no bulb in the white sidemarker place. There is a mounting hole but no wire and socket. I would actually like to retrofit orange ones to newer lights but haven't found a store that sells orange reflectors. Vparts doesn't list white ones either....
You should open a headlight using electric cooker in the kitchen (of course, professionals have special workshop headlight ovens for this). ... Dremel cutting is the first time what I see to open a headlight.... ;-)
@@VPARTSGARAGE I have done one side of my car so I know it is a PITA to do it, yet have you ever tried applying those headlight glue separator after you heated up the headlight? And I believe you may try selling additional kits which retrofit the projectors as you would never ever open the light again in your lifetime... :)
Once the lens are back in stock this spring 2024 will folks in North America be able to order/ship? Really interested in new lens and the clear/white corner reflectors!
Hello, Unfortunatly we do not ship to NA. The fastest way for you to get parts is if someone you know in the countries we ship to can order and then forward them to you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thats fine - I will find someone to relay the parts for me I am sure. Hope to see the lens in stock soon! Could you also advise on what glue/sealant you recommend?@@VPARTSGARAGE
P2 xenon and abl xenon headlights are much easier to open, done lots of them, even install new rechromed reflectors of the projector, light output is a new…. Sold a lot of refurbished headlight in my country… Did 1 pair of P3 abl xenon headlight, also installed new rechromed reflectors of the projector: light output as new…. Projector lens is very easy to clean, and necessary when you open the headlight….
Bro serious question as i dont find anywhere for a fix... I have volvo s80 v8 2007 with BLISS system, sometimes it stops working because there is something on the lens, which isnt true. The lenses became foggy from inside, especially right side. Is there a way to make it clear again or replace the glass?
I had the same problem. There are little’heaters’ around the bliss lens on each side. You can order them at the Volvo dealer. In my case; this resolved the issue.
@ ik geloof rond de 60€ per kant voor de heater en dan moet het er nog ingezet worden. Maar je moet hem eerst laten uitlezen op storingen. Het kan ook de camera zelf zijn die stuk is, en die kost zonder montage al rond de 600€.
I think it took about 1,5 hour to complete one side with glue and everything. I have done this job several times, so maybe it takes 2-3 hours the first side for the first time.
Thanks so much! We are not a workshop in the sense that we take in customer cars. Now that you've seen the video, you can buy the headlight lenses and do it yourself :) We hope that they will be back in stock at the beginning of 2024.
I did this on my 2005 v70 and man oh man this job fucking sucks. Especially much since you have to remove the whole bumper to get the headlights off the car. But using the heatgun and big pliers to force the remaining lens off was a hell of a workout, arm was properly sore afterwards.

I'm going to install glass lenses from a 2004 XC70 on my 2007 XC70 to avoid having to adapt the harness and newer lights have market bulbs and look better. Which glue do you use? Is there a link for the glue?
Sorry, I just want to better understand the beginning. Are you saying the lens has to be cut open because there are three screws that hold the lens to the outer housing internally?
Lens has to be cut open beacause the glue holding the lens cant be heated to loosen it. So you cut the lens to be able to reach and remove the old glue. :) But you have to be a bit careful around those screws and cut on the right side of them for it to not brake :)
GREAT VIDEO I WAS GOING TO BUY A BOTH HEADLIGHTS I WILL FOLLOW YOUR EXACT INSTRUCTIONS
Great video, very detailed. I think I'm ready to tackle this job now, thanks👍
Thank you and good luck with the job, it will be worth it at the end! 😁
While you are in there, I would also clean up the "eye". As it can only be removed while the cover is off.

Waiting these to in stock! There is Aliexpress alternatives too😢
Nice one! I'll have to get a pair. So no cleaning of the projector lens at all while it is open?
Thank you!
I would be really careful with the projector lens if you want to try and clean it.

what type of silicon did you use?
I would use CLEAR silicone like the type they use in bathroom applications as its water proof and clear like your headlight lenses.

They will be back in stock this spring. :)
How did you get hat whole assembly off the car? Is there a video of that?
It's really easy, you have two pins at the top that you just remove to get it out. Should be in your instruction book how to do it. :)
Its in the car manual? I don't have to take off the bumper?
